Absolutely phenomenal small-town diner. Highly recommend. Service is great, and they do all the classic breakfasts really well. Greasy spoon at its best. read more

Old style breakfast place for sure. Plenty of free parking. Attentive staff. Omelette was very good, surprisingly so. read more

Waffle House vibe, if that's what you're after you will enjoy. I asked if the biscuits were homemade and told yes... they tasted more like from a can than my Grandma's kitchen. Wait staff was attentive, but in a hurry to leave... they were mopping around me... and it wasn't close to closing time read more

Solid breakfast , efficient service, the interior is a little worn, but would definitely go again

Good basic breakfast fare all day. Good local place for breakfast. Very efficient and fast service. We never needed any refills for drinks. They do give a discount for cash. read more

Service and food all lived up to expectations. I've been coming here since childhood and it's always been a staple.

Fast, delicious, low-cost breakfast. This place does breakfast exactly as it should be, classic and no frills. Excellent and attentive staff. The mac & cheese is exceptional as well. Will definitely make this a go-to spot. The burgers also looked awesome. read more

Not sure what the previous bad reviews were about. I was working for the day in Aberdeen and decided to try it out. Lots of happy customers eating and laughing. Note that most of the customers probably don't have Yelp to make reviews. Different generation. Staff were amazingly friendly. Food was awesome. Great taste. Anything you can imagine for breakfast, can be ordered. Plenty of butter and jelly on the table. Loved it. read more

Mac's Breakfast Anytime - a plate of eggs, hash browns, toast, and toast - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Aberdeen, North Carolina

My husband and I went there for lunch today. We had the Italian chicken with mashed potatoes and fried okra. The Italian chicken tasted like it was baked in Italian dressing and mine was undercooked. The mashed potatoes came from a box the gravy from a can and the okra were overcooked. Very disappointing. read more

Good food fast and cheap. For the price of 7.95 I got 2 eggs over easy with grits toast & bacon (lots of bacon not a strip or 2). Staff was great & workes together rather. Will eat @ Max's again! Local Local Local! read more

Love this place. Extensive menu.and big portions for a reasonable price. Great servers.

I took my mom to eat here because it was close to the hotel we were staying at and I was happy I did. The staff was extremely friendly, the food was good and a nice size portion, and the place was clean. The French toast really stood out because it was really tasty. They had a senior menu choice which was discounted. The coffee was the only thing that we found not good. Overall, a great place to visit. read more

Not impressed. With the amount of stars of the reviews, I expected better. Mediocre hollandaise, poor sides choices for a breakfast place, poor service, and overall poor experience. Will not recommend. French toast tasted like there was garlic somehow in read more

It was just ok. We didn't like the flavor of their breakfast. Even the hash browns so it may be their oil. We won't go back.

Environment decline Being in the Moore county area for a number of years previously, Mac's was always a childhood favorite. You could always count on 10/10 comfort food... pancakes, omelets, grits. sandwiches, french toast, you name it. Reliable service & friendly atmosphere. I returned for ~nostalgia~~~ this week to enjoy breakfast and felt so let down by the experience. The service staff was not what I'd call professional; they close doors at 3pm and we arrived at 12:30pm and were told we couldn't sit in the back room because it was already closed for the day (Meaning they didn't feel like cleaning again in the next 2.5 hours). They seem to be on a "help everyone, share tips system" -- nothing wrong with this, but we were asked by three different servers if we'd ordered and not once were we ever even greeted. I think the biggest downside was the overwhelming smell of bleach and sour rags which overpowered and smells of food. Definitely not a desirable dining smell.. I can honestly say that the food is just as good as it always was, but you're better off enjoying it as takeout. Wont be dining in again hopeful changes can be made so Mac's can be what it used to be. read more

How this can be a "best" breakfast in Aberdeen is something I cannot understand. The food is generic , service is horrible. It's simply not good food. read more

I think every town has a go to place for a quality breakfast. This must be the place in Aberdeen. Quick friendly service with breakfast done right. Omelettes, eggs, pancakes, grits, and hash browns. A small diner bar to eat at for the locals. The day we visited there was two lunch specials, lasagna and a fish dish. Open 6am to 3pm. read more

This was the best service I have had anywhere since COVID. We were greeted immediately when we entered and told to sit anywhere we wanted. Once we seated ourselves in a cozy booth for two the waitress immediately took our drink order. Our food came out quickly. Food was just okay. My spinach omelet was pretty bland. Hash browns could have been cooked a little longer. Biscuit was tall and fluffy. But as far the service, our waitress as well as others checked on us repeatedly and kept water glasses filled. We were missing a set of silverware and a waitress noticed immediately when I started to glance around for it. Plates were removed promptly and waitress brought box for my leftover biscuit. You pay at a register by the door so the whole process made for a quick, satisfying breakfast. Meant to take a pic but was too hungry and scarfed my food down as soon as they brought it. read more

Super fast - good food - great service - wide menu and if can't find what you are looking for breakfast - it doesn't exist

I went here on a Friday and they offered several seafood options. I ordered the fried oysters. To my surprise, they were great! They had a light crusty coating and we're not dry. The plate came with slaw and French Fries and a few hush puppies. I was completely satisfied with the food and the service. read more

We don't often go to breakfast but decided after a long morning hike to give this place a try with some friends. It is always full of people when we drive by and today was no exception. There were plenty of tables so it wasn't a problem finding a place to sit. The menu is extensive with more than just breakfast. The wait staff was efficient and possibly too honest. When I placed my order I asked which of two items she might recommend. She informed me that she did not know, because she doesn't eat there. And followed it up with she is a picky eater. Not exactly an endorsement for the food. Our orders arrived promptly with exception of one of our friends dish, which took a good twenty or more minutes to come out. The rest of us tried to eat slowly as he waited. As for the food, it was ample portions and although I liked my corn beef hash it was nothing special. Everyone else at the table felt the food was Lacking in taste and at best average. One dish, a chicken salad sandwich was dry. My wife said the meat in her patty melt did not taste like anything. Everyone added salt and ketchup to their plates which I never see my wife do. On a good note they refilled our drinks and the ice tea was nice. So my best recommendation is, if you are in a hurry or have kids, maybe you are on vacation and just passing through , this might work. But if you are looking for a place with really tasty food for breakfast, sit this one out. read more

This place stinks. Literally and figuratively. The place is dirty and gross. Also the service is terrible. It took 1 hour from when we ordered to when we got the food. When I told the women at the register she just looked at me with a blank face and said "it gets like that sometimes". Skip this place. There is a better place across the street and in Southern Pines there is a few really good breakfast spots. read more

Nice people but really?....No actual butter in the entire place? No real maple syrup!!! When will these places begin to realize how they are poisoning people with their cheap, fake, toxic ingredients? How hard would it be to offer authentic butter and maple syrup at a slight additional cost or simply raise prices a tiny bit to offset the added cost? Eat here if you want diabetes and obesity to continue plaguing our population and killing people. Sorry, I'm just over the lack of awareness and consciousness still so prevalent in 2024!!!! read more

Went here on the way back from a graduation. The food was great and the portions were huge. It was a great place to take kids, who both got food they liked. There was a variety of sides and while it's not exactly high end, it's good American breakfast food with great service. The only hesitation I have in recommending it are the facilities. The parking is tough during peak times and the bathroom was pretty rough. read more

I used to love this place and hadn't been in a while, and something just wasn't up to par today. The food was subpar the service was OK but what made it a bad experience to even write a review was the hostess had a nasty.disposition . She was vacuuming, then she couldn't find her glasses.. I couldn't imagine if I was in a hurry. Making us wait...And when I said something about serving sizes had changed, she was very negative. And when she couldn't get the Apple Pay to work, she implied it must be me.. because it worked for her all day‍‍ it never ceases to amaze me people that are in the customer service business that shouldn't be serving the public. And it's really rude to huddle everybody into a section of the restaurant and be vacuuming, mopping cleaning all around people while you're trying to enjoy a meal there wasn't even music or any ambience at all.. will not be coming back for a while. In a sad we used to love this place. read more

Nice hometown feel, like the patrons have been the same for 20-30 years. They are masters at keeping your coffee cup hot and filled. The food is not creative or new, but it is delicious and plentiful. My husband only wants to eat breakfast here and refuses to try any new restaurant! The ambiance is lacking save for the old timey feel. The service is excellent they are very attentive. read more

I am a sucker for a good breakfast spot. After reading very mixed reviews,I decided to eat here. That was a great idea. You go in and you're welcomed by the friendly staff to seat yourself. After being seated I was immediately greeted by a server and quickly brought my drink order. The menu is pretty much a regular breakfast menu. It does have advertisements across the bottom but because I'm from a small town in the south I'm used to things like that. I ordered a bacon omelet with feta and onions, cheese grits, and toast. The omelet was flowing with bacon and the eggs were not over done (my egg preference is always runny/undercooked) not a stitch of brown anywhere. I was slightly disappointed on the amount of feta added because there was an up charge on it (as expected). Overall it was good and filling. Nothing to run and write home about but it definitely did the job for a total of $8, $11 with tip. The server was very friendly and she never came back to check on me BUT whenever she walked by I knew she was checking to see if my glass was low or if something was wrong with my meal and I'm okay with that. The staff seems like one big family and the people there seem like regulars. Being from a small town I love seeing things like that in a local joint. It personally makes me feel more comfortable. It's not the greatest place on earth but it is far from the worst. Overall I'd eat here again. read more

I had breakfast here while visiting my family in Southern Pines and I am wondering what took me so long to stumble on this place. Mac's serves up a good 'ole southern breakfast (anytime) lol, hence the name. I had the Waffle & Eggs combo which came with a side of your choice of breakfast meat or liver pudding. The waffle was cooked to perfection (watch out Waffle house...) and the atmosphere makes this place feel just like grandmas kitchen. You can't beat the prices on the menu and there is something to please even the pickiest of eaters here. Simply wonderful! read more

Okay I'm going to upgrade this restaurant. I love that they have free wi-fi! And to be sure, every waitress here is ready and willing to help. And honestly, I want to support locally owned places like this. They provide jobs to deserving people and I hope customers appreciate them and tip accordingly. And the food is really better than my previous review. Their seafood is actually pretty darn good for being a couple of hours from the coast. So yeah, it's 5/5! read more

Still the best place in the Sandhills for breakfast anytime, well...until 3pm every day that is. Always fast and friendly service. First responder friendly with a discount. Obviously they tip share at Mac's because all the wait staff is on top of it. Checking drinks and seeing if there is anything that is ever needed. You'll often see the owner working behind the bar expediting orders and wiping down tables. Very hard working friendly man. Best value for your money for the 5* service. read more

Food was mediocre, there was a hair in it, and it was overpriced. Would not go back or recommend.

Had high hopes but the place was a disappointment due to the service. Just completely inattentive not only to us but the surrounding tables. My omelet and hash browns were delicious but my toast was stone cold. One of my buddies got cold home fries and the sweet tea was sugar water. I'd suggest someplace else honestly..... read more
