From the start this place was very welcoming and warm. The menu is so unique. As you can see from the photos no one left anything on their plate. We share the Wisconsin cheddar soup, the tuna salad with Swiss on croissant, Southern Ruben on croissant, southern salad, and for an extra $1 you chips, pickle, & slaw. Delicious! The Clover ice tea is a must. Staff was efficient, kind, and genuine. I love the local artist throughout the restaurant. Thanks for being business and I can't wait for next time at the marketplace.

Food was okay. Staff was very friendly. Nice atmosphere. Ordered the tuna sandwich with lettuce. Had more lettuce than tuna and quite small for $12.

The Market Place is a great deli for lunch and can accommodate large groups, which included me and my friends this particular day. Right away I noticed it's warm and friendly atmosphere upon entering and instantly fell in love when I walked in. Lots of options when it comes to sandwiches and I opted for my go-to, chicken salad on a croissant, which was delicious. They do have gluten free available if you have dietary restrictions. I ordered a hot drink to enjoy while I waited for my meal to arrive, in addition to their famous clove tea, which was sweetened just how I like it! The chicken salad was so good I could have eaten two but decided to save room for dessert when I saw they had fried apple pies on the menu! If you're not into pie, they also have cake, cookies (free chocolate chip with yelp check-in), smoothies and bars. They have a lunch combo that includes 1/2 sandwiches with your choice of soup or salad for a great deal. There are also options to take home large portions of a few items by the pound such as their tuna salad, pimento cheese, slaw, soup, etc. Outdoor seating on days when the weather is nice and venue space available for rent. Neat restaurant worth checking out!

First time going to the market place and I'll say right off the bat they do a lot of things right here -- The restaurant itself is very nice and "homey" if you will... Good ambience, very spacious inside. There's a lot of nice decorations, and paintings for sale from (I assume) local artists. In the lady's bathroom there's a lot of religious art work and scripture related things, which I really liked. The outdoor seating is great as well. Over all "The Market Place" has a lot of personality My husband and I ordered 2 smoothies, the bacon and brei sandwhich, the roast beef sandwhich, the chicken salad croissant, and lastly a piece of cheesecake and chocolate cake (we were hungry in our defense haha) Upon checking in on yelp, we were also awarded with a free chocolate chip cookie! The sandwiches here are a definite 5 stars, and personally I highly recommend the bacon and brei. My husband and I were definitely more than satisfied. The wait staff here is also 5 stars. We were attended by nearly all the servers, as they do a shared tip/order system. Quick story - My husband ordered the monkeys breakfast smoothie, to which they informed us they didn't have anymore bananas so he would just be getting peanut butter, milk, and oats. He decided to order it anyway and the staff went out of their way to make sure he knew what he was ordering. They even made it, and let him sample it so he could decided if he liked it or not free or charge. In the spirit of full transparency IF I had to say ONE thing that wasn't 5 star about this restaurant, it would be how long it took to get our sandwiches.... There weren't too many people when we arrived, and we noticed that a table that sat down about 10 minutes after us, got their meal before we did. Since this was our first time and I like to air towards the positive, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume there was good reason for this, but because everything else was so great I'm going to give them the 5 stars. Overall good experience and great service

First time coming in and we would be happy to come back! My kids were happy with the lunches, especially the smoothie. The wheat bread is the good kind that kids won't complain about. We really loved the outdoor seating area and the decor appointed. The owners and staff were all friendly accommodating. The best part, for me l, was the addition of clove to the sweet tea. I love when there's unique menu items I just can't replicate at home. Would love to try something more unusual on the menu next time.

I'll let ya know if it's any good!

Definitely going to be a new little local favorite of mine! Looking for lunch, try it! I had the chicken chutney sandwich and "oh my!" I was content. Had ice cream and a HUGE delicious cookie for dessert. I could tell all of it was practically homemade. Service was impeccable, I will surely be back for more!!!

We were seated in a back room at a long table, one of three. This room was warm and lovely. One table was already occupied, the other filled up shortly before we finished. From start to finish, our dining experience was wonderful. We did not have to worry about our little ones disrupting other guests, as the other party had little ones too. Our server, Madeline, was absolutely perfect! She was attentive without being intrusive. She had a good sense of humor and guided out decisions for food when we asked. She served us promptly and with a smile and made us feel so welcomed. I wish I could remember what everyone else ordered but I do know that my Pork Schnitzel was incredible! Also huge so I had enough for another meal the next day. When I return I will order the same thing. My husband brought a birthday cake in for me and our server brought that out at the end of the meal with plates and forks for everyone. We forced her to take a piece for her break, which she goodnaturedly did. There is only one tiny tiny thing to mention: It did take a long while for the 5 year old's drink and food to arrive. Not anyone's fault, it was very very busy. But try to explain that to a 5 year old. Rolls were served but they were too spicy for her. Or maybe the butter was spicy? Maybe feed your little ones something beforehand if you go on a busy weekend night, as we did. Kudos to the kitchen for pleasing so many different tastes so much, and for management for hiring Madeline who is a great asset to your restaurant.

There's an upscale bar in the entry that had several seats open even when the tables were all full. I started with the crab hush puppies. What's not to like about fried dough after all, but I didn't really get much crab flavor out of them. The buttermilk and corn preparation came through more. The entree was a showstopper, though - grilled elk chops with a pomegranate glaze and country mashed potatoes. They were scrumptious, and the al dente vegetables cooked in with the potatoes gave them a nice toothsomeness. One of the best entrees I've had in quite some time. It's nice when a menu gives you a protein choice you don't see everywhere. Parking is fine, with a paved lot in front and spaces on either side of the adjacent street. Service was welcoming and efficient.

It was also smothered with pepper kernals which made it worse. Definitely one of the worst steaks i have ever eaten in my entire life of 67 years. That includes supermarket steaks. Next the whipped potatoes were cold and hard. I guess at some point they were whipped? The $3 surcharge for the creamed spinach was also cold and had no taste. If this were a $10 Food Lion steak i would have been disappointed but for $65 the restaurant ahould be shut down. To top it off, the server who i had to call over as he never checked on dinner saw the steak and agreed. Yet, the restaurant did nothing to cure the issue and to add insult to injury added their 20% tip to the meal since we had a large group. DEPLORABLE!!!! This was absolutely disgraceful how the restaurant could serve a fatty small veiny, tastless piece of $65 steak and not apologize and try to cure it in any fashion. Bottle of wine, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 desserts = $175 not including tip. Complimentary biscuits were not fully cooked - still doughy. Waitstaff said they were "waiting for the biscuits to cook" - totally understandable, but wait 3 more minutes so you don't serve uncooked dough. This is a time management thing for the kitchen: 5:00 reservations = put biscuits in the oven no later than 4:40. Escargot was good. Disappointed that our dirty/empty appetizer plates stayed all over the table so long. This is the difference between "fine dining" & a typical restaurant. Utensils used for appetizers should be removed & replaced for main meal. Just another little detail that sets apart "price is worth it" & "why'd I pay that much?" Steak frites were good. Lamb was good. Desserts were good. Cacao nibs were entirely too hard - I thought I was eating pieces of nut shells. Not enjoyable. Waitress was very friendly, but we did get the feeling that we weren't regulars, so it was ok to not pay attention to us (like remove dirty dishes).
