This is a gem in the heart of Sanford. It's the perfect spot for a special occasion, date night or just to treat yourself. Place is well decorated. Seating is ample and spacious. Make sure you make reservations because they're usually very busy. As for the food, I think that this is one of the better Italian restaurants I've tried in NC. The Parmagiano Crab Dip is absolutely to die for...especially when served with their freshly baked flat bread. The pasta all'Ortolana was very well seasoned and filled with veggies. I judge an Italian restaurant by their sauce & meatballs which honestly didn't disappoint. Portion sized are generous...everyone was leaving with takeout containers. The service we had was impeccable! Our server, Madison, was amazingly attentive and efficient! This will be one of our favorite haunts. read more

Four of us gathered for an after theater dinner. The family restaurant is clean, bright, and attractive. Service was friendly, informed, and attentive. The fried ravioli was a hit; the signature "baked dough" is an appetizer pizza: do add the recommended cheese. The pasta dishes were fresh and well seasoned, the sausage and peppers could pass for the NJ specialty (a high compliment). Four out of four recommend it. read more

Cheyenne was our waitress & we got the gluten free linguine & calzone & rolls were very very good! Having lived in NYC I'm very picky on the dough & this kitchen came through not over cooking but cooked enough that it wasn't just dough inside which many places do. I was with a new & we didn't realize ourselves & another group were the last people there & the entire staff politely waited & didn't' make us feel badly & I thought that's the sign of top down management I bet there are good owners & a chef. TOUGH TO IMPRESS!! FIRST TIME EATING HERE!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! This place does not get enough praise and attention. The ambiance was low key, warm lighting, and comfortable. The lady who greeted and seated us was very professional and courteous. We were seated immediately. We were given time to look over the menu instead without interruption. When our waitress stopped by to greet us, she was extremely nice. This was a genuine "I love my job and love working here". She took our drink order, and allowed us to continue perusing the menu. She came back, took our appetizer order (Crab Dip). Then took the entree order (Shrimp Scampi and Chicken Marsala). Now the meal. The crab dip was DELICIOUS. We could not stop eating it. The bread was cooked to perfection with a garlic, herb, and cheese topping. The crab dip was creamy, cheesy, and nice big chunks of real crab. The house salad was crisp, fresh veggies not overly drenched in dressing The Shrimp Scampi Linguini was generously bathed in a garlic sauce and the noodles were served in their own dish with a garlic, white wine, butter sauce. The shrimp were carefully cooked so that they were sweet and tender. The Chicken Marsala was probably the best I've had in the area. The sauce was as close to authentic as can be. The mushrooms was a generous portion, and the chicken was tender and juicy. To finish this amazing meal off, we had the Amaretto Cheesecake. OH MY!!! The cheesecake was creamy, the almond topping was crispy, and the amaretto sauce was divine! This was a superb topper to an already awesome meal. read more

Food is good for the area little pricey for the portions but I enjoy it every once in a while. However, I ran out during a rainstorm to pickup my order as it's right down the road from my house. It was late after work and I already changed into house clothes so I threw a coat on and ran in as I wasn't going to dress up to go pickup an order for all of a minute. I get there and the older guy behind the counter makes a sly remark under his breath saying "it must be cold out" (it is currently summer) I heard him and answered him promptly... Pro tip: next time you're going to be rude make sure you're not loud enough for the paying customer to hear or I don't know wait until I walk out. read more

Should be a 2.5 star maybe. The food was decent enough but the service was extremely slow. I went at lunch time with some co-workers and was less than impressed. I had the pepper and onions which were okay but I'm pretty sure, I could have matched the quality making it at home. I was also surprised the prices. read more

My wife and I are contemplating moving to Sanford, and while house hunting yesterday, we had lunch. The service by Barbara was outstanding and the food was so delicious. We had the special of the day stuffed shells with seafood and the Penne Ala Vodka with shrimp. Took home the leftovers and 2 pieces of cheesecake which we had as our dinner dessert. We're friends with the owner of another Italian restaurant in Sanford and my wife loves the meatballs and focaccia bread at the other Italian place, so we rarely visit Valenti's. Glad we stopped in. We sat at the bar just because we like people and harassing the bartender, who was busy while we were being seated. Another server named Barbara stepped in to make sure we were taken care of, got us drinks and chatted a moment until Michaela the bar Goddess (that's my wife's term for her) got back to us with a bottle of Montepulciano wine. My wife had the Chicken Marsala and I had the Pizza Supreme we shared a salad. The food and wine were excellent, particularly the Marsala dish. Not exactly sure what was different but the Milano Pasta with Chicken had something that really set it apart from (better) any other I've had previously (we've had Chicken Marsala in lots of restaurants in Europe and US). Michaela was friendly, cute, entertaining, attentive and efficient. My wife had to take a phone call and ended up going outside for quite a while. Barbara and Michaela both checked in on me several times to make sure everything was OK and see if I needed anything else. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit, moments of peace and quiet, lively conversation and fantastic meal... thinking we'll probably be visiting Valenti's more frequently. read more

We've eaten at the Sanford Valenti's twice in recent weeks. The food is very good, you can tell that it is freshly made in house. The service is lovely, both of our waitresses were friendly and attentive without being over bearing. The restaurant itself is clean and well appointed. We don't typically look for Italian restaurants, however, if things continue as they've started, Valenti's will become a favourite of ours! Next, get my mother in law to come for the Pasta all'Ortolana with all the great veggies. read more

First time going to this Valenti's restaurant. We usually go to the one in Vass. But it was closed and I'm glad it was. When you walk in the restaurant is extremely bright and clean. The decor is perfect and the staff is super helpful. We were a party of 7. We ordered five pizzas and they were all absolutely delicious. Spectacular night! read more

We have been wanting to try Valenti's for a while, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was very cute. For me, if the red sauce is good, then the food is almost always yummy. The sauce was delicious. It was very flavorful and not too acidic. I enjoyed the Taste of Italy, and my husband gobbled his sausage and pepper dish. Prices were ok for the current environment, portions were very generous, and the garlic knots were outstanding. The missing star was for the noise level. There was a large party when we were there, and the noise echoed through the restaurant. read more

Just ordered "Tour of Italy" for delivery. No complaints about food, salad or garlic knots EXCEPT: I would estimate I have had chicken Parm 50 times over the years. Never once was pasta not included except from Valenti's today. Doesn't affect my decision in the future to return or order again- just was surprised and will adjust for it next time. Coming from a real Italian nothing is really ever good but this was just really disappointing. It tasted like store bought sauce on top of the food and shoved in the oven. Although, the service there is good but slow. Could work on that. I get that people are still understaffed but at least tell me that.
