Yesterday we decided to enjoy the weather and eat al fresco on the back patio. Food was great - lamb burger was perfect and spouse's salad was tasty. Issue was the poor service. Ashley just "failed" at providing the level of service needed - no follow up and thankful that other waitstaff picked up her slack. We waited and waited and nothing. To Management, I am writing regarding my visit this past Sunday afternoon. I stopped in alone after a motorcycle ride to enjoy dessert (butter pecan) and an Old Fashioned. I was respectful, quiet, and caused no disturbance of any kind. I was actually talking to Mike and sharing a drink with him while I listened to his stories...an 89 year Army old retired SF MEDIC! After I had finished my dessert and drink, I was approached by the bartender and asked to leave by the manager because of my "cut." I want to be VERY clear -- I am not affiliated with any motorcycle club. The vest I was wearing simply reflects that I am retired. There were no club patches, no MC affiliation, and no disruptive behavior. I was there as a customer -- nothing more. If your establishment has a policy regarding motorcycle club colors which I DO NOT BELONG TO ANY, I would appreciate clarity on that policy and how it is defined and applied. Being asked to leave after I had already been served -- based solely on wearing a vest that reflects my military service -- was both surprising and disappointing and DISRESPECTFUL. I have always conducted myself with professionalism and respect, both in uniform and out. I expect the same level of respect in return. I would welcome a response explaining the reasoning behind the decision and whether this was a misunderstanding or an official policy matter. This establishment obviously discriminates against Vets! Yes, I know the owner and a majority of the customers are active or vets. I will not be coming back although I have been an active customer since 2020. We came in and had fantastic service for lunch on a Friday. It was pretty quiet but then quickly got busy which was nice to see. I didn't love my bun on the hamburger but overall the food was phenomenal. We even brought home a bunch of leftover sides. Everything was filling. We love The Bell Tree but last night was a disappointment. Our waitress was perfect however my Ruben was not. I went to take my first bite and all the meat fell into my lap. Problem, no Swiss cheese on my or my husband's Ruben. I thought Swiss cheese went on them but wasn't sure We were tired so we took the other halves and went home. We'll be back though. read more

Once we got seated, we waited and waited and waited. It took over 15 mins for someone to come to our table just to take drink order and the only reason we got served was due to us getting the staffs attention. We did not have a waiter. The host was our waiter. It was not busy and slow so no reason to wait 15 mins. Then out of 6 pieces of silverware. Half had dried food on it. I ordered the steak it was flavored really well. We've tried three times to enjoy this restaurant, but there are just too many other places nearby to choose the Bell Tree for a meal any longer. It makes me sad, because they have a really neat indoor & outdoor setup that is great for hanging out. If you want to just drink & hang out, stop by. We had a group of 16 guys in the Southern Pines/Pinehurst area to play golf. We ate at the Bell Tree Tavern on Friday evening for dinner. We requested a table for 16 and they could accommodate us but told us we had to sit outside, which we said was fine. Kaylee was our waitress and we requested 16 separate checks which she said would mo problem. We all ordered drinks, then ordered dinner. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and it was hot. While we were waiting for our dinners, it became chilly as it was after dark. The owner brought over 2 standing propane heaters for us which helped warm us up. The food was very good as many of us ordered different items. Kalee was very attentive to us and took excellent care of us. When it came time to pay, she brought out 16 separate checks and past them out with no mistakes. Has this place been on Kitchen Nightmares or Bar Rescue yet? If not, someone please nominate them. Let's begin from the doorway: -Hostess is sipping a drink, looks up, and doesn't say a word. -Heather greets us graciously. She's the only reason we're offering 2 stars btw. -Menu states kids' meals will have $3 added on for adults ordering. Why?? What does it matter whose mouth it enters so long as you're making the money on the item?? -Putting "fish and chips" and Guinness onto your menu does not an Irish pub make. -The Buffalo Trace Old Fashioned was an absolute abomination. If you cannot make the most basic of drinks, you should not be behind the bar. The drink costs $25 (I'm not exaggerating, and it's not stated on the menu). You would think I'd get more than some iced down bourbon with a ton of bitters and no hint of sugar. How do I get my money back for a drink I couldn't enjoy?! -Fried pickle starter was meh. Not terrible, not great. -Busboy was super friendly. I'd happily add stars if someone would make the check right by refunding me for an overpriced drink that was not made correctly. My advice: bring in an actual quality "mixologist" from a thriving restaurant nearby and allow your team to be properly trained on the most basic of drinks. read more

Very disappointed, many people have carried on about how great this place is but I don't see it. The food was good but the service was awful. Our waitress ignored us and was nit helpful at all. I could understand if it was lunch hour and they were busy but there were literally a handful of people there. I ended up asking the older woman waiting tables for help and she also wasn't helpful. Always greeted when I come in. I love to come in for lunch after class. Usually not too busy during the week. During Fridays and weekends opened till 1 am. With live music and great drinks! Must try the burgers, salads are delicious, the salmon is cooked very well. Service is always phenomenal! I see many poor reviews and I believe they forget their in North Carolina visiting a pub in downtown. Must be expecting royal dining. I will start off with a positive. The service was excellent. Our waitperson was attentive. I had the beef and brie burger with sweet potato fries. The fries tasted like they were fried in old oil. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium and it was well done. The burger tasted old and dry. The prices do not match the quality. I would not recommend this place. Awesome place to grab good food and beer. We stopped here for dinner on New Years Eve. We called ahead of time and were informed that there would be a wait. We walked over and still had time to spare so we sat out back. They have an amazing outdoor area with a bar, comfortable seating, heaters, chalk for kids to draw on the ground with, and an outdoor screen to watch the game. We grabbed a beer and hung out outside until our table was ready. Pros: -friendly, efficient employees (especially the female bartender outside, Chandler our waiter, and the hostesses) -all of our orders were accurate -good beer selection including numerous local beers (I chose a hazelnut stout - loved that the bartender provided a sample of it to try before purchasing) -large portions (especially the salads) Cons: -overpriced -waitstaff seemed to be in a big hurry, this may have been because it was NYE -okra is whole (tasted good but was difficult to eat) Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would eat here again! read more

We are Locals and have lived here for over 24 years. We hadn't been to Bell Tree since the new owners took over. We went after the lunch rush...only 2-3 other tables were eating. My Fish Tacos were so overcooked that it was more like fish jerky...the fish fillets were paper thin...you could barely see any signs of fish. The coleslaw was "warm"... My husbands Spicy Chicken Sandwich was burnt, actually black. And his onion rings were also burnt/black. I declined a "redo". My husband asked for another sandwich, and the 2nd one came out BURNT & hard as a rock. Food was awful! Server was good, but we will not be going back there to eat. Very Disappointing! read more

Had a good lunch here......my hamburger was cooked perfectly and was juicy. Sweet potato fries were perfect. The other in the party enjoyed their chicken salad. The wait staff was outstanding. One thing I always look for is clearance of used dishes etc. Our server never left the table without a "used" item. Actually both servers who came to the table did this......it's not a big thing that people notice, but to me it is. Ate a early dinner on Monday 17th and compared to our last visit we were very pleased. Pace of our service was good drinks were also. Food-I had the bison burger and it was on point it's a little different but I enjoyed it. Wife had the brisket sandwich and she said it was really good however as another person posted not sure what they mix with the mashed potatoes but they tasted strange my wife couldn't eat them. We did ask the waitress about them and she said they used a different type of potato? Found this place one night after bowling and found the food, taps and atmosphere pretty cool. Love the Brie and mushroom burger and the wild rice is a great side. Karaoke night is hit or miss but not the worst we have heard and there are actually some really good singers. Service has always been excellent! read more
