Stopped here for breakfast when passing through town with my husband, son and son's girlfriend. It was busy on a Sunday morning but we were seated as soon as a table became available. I ordered the Mama's Garden Fresh omelette with hashbrowns. Delicious. Hashbrowns were cooked perfectly and omelette was stuffed with veggies. Diet Coke had just the perfect amount of carbonation and waitress was good about bringing refills. Husband ordered the Hungry Man breakfast and it was an impressive amount of food! Typical small-town diner and a better alternative to the Bojangles and Hardees across the road. My eggs were good and I thought the all-the-way hash browns were especially tasty, although I'm not sure they were worth the $2.95 up charge. My dining companion enjoyed her breakfast of french toast, liver mush, and a scrambled egg, but thought the liver mush was very over cooked. Our first server was very impatient and appeared visibly annoyed when we did not immediately know what we wanted to order. She passed us off to another server who took our order but forgot to refill our drinks when she started chatting up a regular customer. We flagged down a third server who got us refills. All in all, the service marred what would be a borderline 4-star breakfast. read more

Spotted this diner on Yelp while driving home from Raleigh. Tucked back in the corner behind a strip of stores you will find this little lovely place. It's not very updated but it's filled with locals and people that they know by name. That's the place I want to eat... every time! Staff was wonderful. Attentive and friendly was just a touch of how good they were. My daughter found the smallest scratch on her finger that had probably been there for days. She asked me for a bandaid and within a minute our waitress came over with a bandaids, she over heard! It was so sweet. I ate the crispy chicken ranch sandwich and was super happy with that choice. The chicken had that great crisp, kinda light but super tasty. Ahhh love. Ranch was on point and the fries.... the fries had that extra crispy touch without being well done. My kids ordered and the waitress was sure to tell me what to order instead so I got a better price deal. I see why there were so many regulars. Stop in if your driving through! read more

How does this please have 4 stars!!! Holy salt lick Batman... the only thing that was good as far as the dinner was the sweet tea and the sweet old lady serving! Collards cooked to oblivion, where did their potato salad recipe come from!? Beef tip literally tasted like Alpo dog food in the can smells! The fries taste like they were dipped and soaked in liquid salt!, The same goes for the fried pickles. First time I had breakfast here service WAS friendly and food was good. However this time around service was terrible! (different staff than the first) they seemed very accommodating to the OTHER patrons but when it came to me I had to flag them down for everything (refill and missed food item). Not once did my server check on how my food came out. Not sure if being an Asian female had anything to do with it but I noticed the difference in treatment. One of the friendly African-American cooks, noticed I've been trying to get my server's attention as she continued to have lengthy conversations with other patrons. Good food. Good service. Friendly ambiance. If you want down home southern cooking and a waitress that calls you hon or darlin, then this is your spot. My husband and I came here the day we bought a house in the neighborhood and I was so glad to have found a cozy spot for comfort food. The waitress helped explain some of the menu items that us Californians didn't recognize, made some recommendations and we were not disappointed. We have been back several times and will definitely be back again as it's our favorite breakfast place to hit on our way to anywhere. read more

Horrible Hostess. What is usually an enjoyable meal was Tainted due to the lack of professional work ethic. The manager on duty was very rude & verbally confronted me in front of other patrons while I stood in line waiting to be seated about a comment I made. They do not Allow customers to walk in & sit at Counter..as I heard one customer say he was alone and would sit at Counter & was told not allowed that he must Wait in Line... manager stated it was due to a shortage on Cooks. This is absurd. What if someone just wanted to come & sit having coffee? We definitely are sharing our experience with all our friends & family & business partners& especially Google Reviews to help patrons find a better Experience Elsewhere. read more

Deserve more stars than five. I have been to ihop, dennys, dozens of places and ordered eggs Benedict and the eggs come fully cooked. Well not at tramway diner. They make the egg runny.
