Haven't been to an Applebees since moving to NC, 5 yrs ago! Loved them in Ohio! This one is much bigger than any I have been in, service was great! Specially because I was with a group of 12. (Separate checks!). Our server kept our orders strait and was very helpful by changing out an order of soup when the first one didn't seem like the one ordered. Ate here tonight with my cousin and daughter. I had to wait for my water because they didn't have anymore clean dishes. Overall it took us an hour and a half from walk in to walk out. We were seated immediately and ordered quickly but we were there an hour before our entrees came out, my daughter's entree came out with the appetizer so she finished before we started. My cousin asked for no ranch sauce on her fiesta lime chicken. The waitress said they couldn't do that but she would ask her manager and let us know. She never let us know and it came with the ranch sauce. We were headed to the movies and were almost late. I was excited to try the OM Burger. Very disappointed, nothing like what you see on TV. The atmosphere at Applebee's was actually pretty good, and the customers around us were friendly, which made the environment enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the vibe. It took an extremely long time just to get our drinks, and the server didn't even ask if we were ready to order until after the drinks finally arrived which was frustrating. On top of that, my friend's steak was not cooked medium as requested and ended up being tough and overdone. Overall, the experience was disappointing despite the nice atmosphere. read more

Yesterday was my 77th birthday. I received an email from Applebee's wishing a Happy Birthday with a gift of a free dessert. It is a regular place we go, but yesterday was the worst I've seen. We get there and I see on the advertisement on the table a drink. A Mt.Dew with whipped cream and half and half. Come to find out they didn't have the creamer. Then the advertised 3 for 15 special did have 1 of the 3. So we ordered something else. The dessert I wanted, the chocolate lava cake ... they were out of cake. My service was amazing !!! shoutout to to my server shameka she was the sweetest person to exist. our party of 8 had our drinks refilled and everything on point ! my only concern was the wait time on the food ? our appetizers took 45 minutes to come out . and that's just the appetizers . the food came out 10 mintues right after, i mean at that point just have the appetizer come out with the food. props to our server to keeping very good communication with us. everything else was good ! a manger checked up on us after our appetizers came out. read more

We have always loved Applebee's food. Unfortunately, we can't say that this location is at the level we have encountered at other locations. The French Onion soup had zero croutons and no cheese...it was cool at best. The burger looked as if it had been cooked before and just grilled enough to melt the cheese. The quesadillia was also just warm. I would not recommend this Applebee's to any friend. read more

Had dinner at Applebees Tuesday. I got the crispy chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. It was ok, nothing to brag about really. The chicken was cut up tenders; on the dry meat side. The lettuce in the salad wasn't limp but certainly not fresh either. I've had some salads that are similar where other ingredients like a boiled egg paired well either the honey mustard dressing. Service was ok. The wait staff was pleasant but seemed to just be there going through the motions. It was not busy that night either so I'm guessing not many folks are impressed by the place as well. They have no wait staff, 30 min or more wait for two adults and a child . After 10 mins of waiting on two glasses of wine I finally went to the bar and got it myself. This place is ridiculous , it's a wonder they even stay open. Idk how many people I seen come in and leave out due to the wait times they were given with the place 3/4 empty. read more

Y'all... I tell everyone that will listen to not eat here. Buddy worked there a few years ago now and has shared some horror stories with me. Specifically the time he came in and the maintenance man wouldn't work on the dishwasher because it was infested with roaches. Like, hundreds of them. And about how they'd find little bugs crawling around the plating area, or sometimes even on the plate, so they'd just kill the bug and maybe re-plate the food, but not remake it. I stopped going after I heard all this, but the times I did give before were unpleasant in their own ways. There was a disabled girl working as hostess, and the other employees/management would be so rude to her, mostly because she was a slow mover, all in ear shot of me and the other tabled. Just all-in-all not a great place, at least in this location. I guess if youre just going for drinks though, it wouldn't be too bad. My family and I decided to swing by for a quick early dinner. We were quickly greeted and seated. Our server came over and greeted us and took our order for drinks. She asked if we were ready and we stated we needed more time. She came back less than two mins and asked if we were ready, we told her we needed more time.... We ordered our food & ordered one appetizer. We received our appetizer within 10 mins after we ordered. About 20-25 mins go by after we receive our appetizer and started to wonder where our food was. She comes and says that the burger meat is frozen and will take a while for it to be ready to cook. . . . . (((Why did she way so long to notify us? )) The overall experience was terrible. Our order of our food, our quality of food- we had to ask for a refill & for condiments. Some of the food was not cooked as ordered. If I could give 0 stars for would. We had a party of 3 adults and 4 children last Saturday. Food was undesirable, as well as the kids food came out first and 20mins later we had to call a manager to get the rest. Drinks ran dry fast and wasn't refilled til the adults got their food. A 2nd manager walked around introducing them self and asking for a survey to be filled. (For any survey filled out you would get $10 off a $40 order). A full week later we saw a charge in our bank around from this survey company for a $19 monthly charge!! Please watch out people! read more

Just have to say this was my last time going to an Applebee's for a long time after tonight. Me and my wife went in tonight for dinner that we normally do weekly at your Sanford location. We Ordered the mozzarella sticks and 2 orders of the boneless wings. Our food comes out quickly so yay food. I go to eat my boneless wings and I had multiple pieces that were still raw. I told the waitress and she took it off our bill. But was disappointed because we sat there and the manager never came to apologize or speak to us at all. All so they were passing out survey cards when we were there to fill out a survey to get 10% off on July 13th that unbeknownst to us it signs you up for a monthly subscription and charged our card for $19.00. read more

Food is ok (Have ate at better Applebees). Don't try to make reservations online. Wait staff told us that it first come first serve. Don't be in a hurry either. As they are slower than molasses in winter. Waitress got our order wrong, too (appetizer. She didn't write the order down and confirm it). We came in for some quick apps after a matinee.. waited at the door no greeter.. 2 servers looked right at us no acknowledgement Finally a greeter came in from the kitchen.. there were only maybe 7 tables T h e server was nice she seemed to be struggling with her 2 other tables ... my Caesar salad app came out.. 1) it v was iceberg with I assumed Caesar dressing slipped on it.. I noticed brown smudges all on one side of the bowl and more inside the bowl.. I located the server she apologized and accepted fault she should have noticed it.. it came back in a full size bowl even more dressing The food came out we ordered the same as one another pretty simple.. missing bc dressing as it is supposed to come with.. I flagged her down she returned quickly... having been an executive in casual restaurants for many years I started noticing no managers on the floor employees sitting at tables eating.. I saw what was the manager a guy with an apple airport in his ear leaning against the wall playing on his phone... he came out barked at the greeters and went back to the boh.. one of our servers other tables requested a manager .. a woman came up after she had insisted she was on the way that she was busy...the mod delivered the long tix apologized and actually made an excuse... It was so very slow... the food..Holy cow... I could not even eat half ..neither of us could soo salty.. line check would be nice.. also a 93 health score . . Both seats in need of repair, dirty bathroom, burnt food. The booth seats feel like springs covered in vinyl, very uncomfortable. We had to move to table with chairs. We ordered French onion soup and bourbon street chicken and shrimp. After a wait, we discovered they were out of soup at 5 pm. So we ordered a Caesar salad which was the best part of the experience. The chicken and shrimp were unsavory. The shrimp had no flavor and are burned on one side. The chicken was dry and burned on one side. There was one mushroom slice in the grilled onions and mushroomS and the potatoes were over cooked. Service was average, but our waiter seemed preoccupied with another member of the staff. This establishment needs some leadership up front and in the kitchen. We do not anticipate returning. read more

Applebees....because for once I got away from the crazy world of Sanford and stepped into a moment of pure enjoyment....and then this... The sandwich I got was SUPER greasy. I mean, drenched. I think it had more viscosity of a heavyweight oil like 10W-30 than the sandwich itself. You could start a small fire with these. Or power your Diesel engine car with all that grease. Utensils. Never arrived like they should have. In fact I had a staring contest with my entree for like 5 minutes. Hang on to your waitresses. I overheard them bolting for a promising job at the local Sanford strip club. Sanford has its fair share of wonderful people and characters. Had a very bad experience at this restaurant. First off our server was pleasant and overall did a good job. She had a pretty busy section and did check on us. Not for the bad: (A) Wife went to the bathroom and found a rather large cockroach. (B) Our entire meal was spent trying to keep the fly(flies) off the table and food. (C) Meal was no where near temperature, closer to being cold. We did send one plate back, and it returned with the ravioli being stuck to the plate. I actually left more food on my plate than I ate. They are so many new restaurants in the Sanford area, so I plan to venture away from this establishment. read more

We have been here twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Both times have been Wednesday evenings. We just sit in booth in bar area. Kinda our date night thing. The atmosphere has been very nice and quiet. Not crowded, no news channels on tvs, lights are not to bright and easy to carry on a conversation. Waitresses have been nice and food is as expected. I usually get the sirloin and "medium cooked" is a medium. I definitely wouldn't go medium rare here. Also, the trivial game at the tables is very nice and cheap to play. It's been a while since I ate at an Applebees, as the service and food was really very poor...but this location and staff really KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARk! Unsanitary!! The food is usually great but I just picked up a to-go order. Not only was the order wrong but they took the food back that was given to me wrong. It was a side salad which they traded for a different kind of side salad. We had already touched that salad trying to see if it was the right one but they took it back to the kitchen.
