#9 Club Supreme

First time ever being compelled to write a review this is how peeved I was. Absolutely ridiculous. Subs are already expensive enough (which I'm okay with)... but I'm watching my Club Supreme being made and A) the bacon looks like it's been there since they opened 4 hrs ago, and B) the roast beef portion was so small it only covered about 80% of the roll (regular size).... so I asked for more roast beef and even paid the upcharge for extra meat thinking I'll actually receive a decent sized sandwich now. Well, out came 2 little slivers. INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED. I paid for xtra meat thinking I'm GETTING extra meat. As much as I dislike Subway, when you pay for extra meat there, you get an extra portion. So, after immediately feeling buyer's remorse over this ripoff, I complained to the checkout girl... to which she responded "Well it's bc of the thickness", w/o ever even seeing the sub... as the "thickness" was about the size of the paper receipt she handed me. $13 bucks for this little thing! Looks like all bread from the side.

I looked at the menu (lots of option, cheap) and ordered food. Came out in 3 min, not lying. Everything was spectacula. Food tasted amazing. Perfect blend of flavor and not too much salt or grease like other places have. It was not too busy when I was there, but then the lunch rush came in. I expected things to decline a little, but that did not happen. Things actually exceeded expectations (other than noise, but nothing can fix that). Arguably the best thing here is the service. They were not short-staffed and were on top of everything. Very quick service, very friendly, honestly the best service I have ever seen. They filled your drink the instant it was low. Everything here was top notch. Truly a hidden gem. Go here for an awesome quick eat or a good time. I will definitely be coming back.

We tried the French toast and the eggs plate -- both dishes were fresh and thoughtfully prepared, reminiscent of classic diner fare with a touch more care. The main drawback is the pricing. You'll pay Pinehurst-level prices for what is essentially elevated diner food. A half-glass mimosa runs $9.50 (albeit with quality champagne), and two scrambled eggs with toast and potatoes is $14. The food is good, but be prepared to pay a premium for the experience

When I first visited Southern Pines years ago, my mom took me here. I was a little bit skeptical,…read moreI'm not going to lie. It's right next to a gas station and the name...well...let's just say I had questions. Usually it's the places that are a hole in the wall and dives that are the best, though. Let me just say...after I ordered my sandwich and saw that it came with pickles, I was already a happy camper before I tried the sandwich. That was probably around four years ago. Then I took a bite...and it was unlike any sandwich I'd ever had before. It did get a little messy, but what's good food without it being a little messy? Honestly, I'm kind of a mess so it probably had something to do with that. Four years later - nothing had changed. I love going there to get a sandwich when I'm in the area. I just wish they were open a little later. My top three picks are the Birdie, Greek, and Real Italian. You can't go wrong with any of them. I've also tried the Wally, Sand, Pitching, Flip, Original, and New Yorker (sometimes a family member will let me try some of their sandwich...and vice versa). All great. There is just something about my top three though. I love that they are made fresh to order, that you can customize them, that they have an option for gluten free bread, and unsweetened or sweet tea (their unsweetened tea is delicious). I usually get an extra pickle when I remember. They have decent selections for sides as well. Nothing like a good sandwich from Wedgies and a cool drink in the summer! I do wish for more drink and side options...but that's me being super nit-picky. Get yourself a sandwich from Wedgies! You won't be sorry. Sometimes, calling ahead or placing an order ahead is the best way to go because it's usually very busy. Give a nice smile to all the kind people there as well. They do work hard!

Unassuming location, but the capacity quickly became overwhelmed at lunch, because clearly many…read morefolks know how good these sandwiches are. Yes, the bread is quite peculiar but it's delicious, and the stuff between the "slices" is equally good as well as plentiful. I went with the Real Italian and found it full of flavor. Now I'll need to make a few return trips and try some of the other selections.

This thing is an absolute flavor bomb. Stopped into Roast Sandwich Market in Moore County and…read moreordered the General Tso Chicken on gluten-free bread and... wow. First bite I got the hit of fresh cilantro and crunch from the peanuts, then straight into that crispy chicken--perfectly fried on the outside and still juicy inside. The sauce is sweet, tangy, a little sticky, and so good it should probably come with a warning label. The gluten-free bread held up like a champ under all that goodness, which is a small miracle considering how loaded this thing is. Fair warning: you're going to need extra napkins. It's messy, it's drippy, and it is 100% worth every saucy fingerprint. Service did take a hot minute, but we landed right at noon on a Saturday, so the place was slammed. Even with the wait, I'd order this sandwich again in a heartbeat. If you're anywhere near Moore County, do yourself a favor and get the General Tso Chicken at Roast. Your taste buds will thank you--your shirt might not, but that's what napkins are for.
