I hired RKC Construction to remove an existing 33 year old wood patio cover and replace with a Alumawood powered coated aluminum patio cover. James their sales agent set up the contract with the exact details of the design including the layout that I wanted with exact didimensions. After the Alumawood material arrived Erik their lead installer along with Tony his assistant installed the most beautiful patio cover I ever saw. The installation was performed perfectly as Erik and Tony are fantastic in doing the job as they would if it was their patio cover being installed on their home. Their measurements were exact and their appreciation to detail was amazing. We are so excited and happy with the most beautiful patio cover anyone could ask for. Just outstanding. We had hired RKC to install a new patio and cover 17' X 53' in July 2023. It was a slow start but they finally finished the job and the cover turned out beautiful. It is solid in the middle with lattice on each end. The installation crew was very courteous and professional. We had a fan installed and the electrician they use was wonderful, gave us some great ideas. Kept us up to date on progress and cleaned up after themselves. We had received three quotes and RKC was in the middle which was a fair price. Overall we are very happy with our new patio cover. read more

I received a call back Sunday. Gentleman seemed friendly. He was out of town (Mexico), so I thought since he called he was trying to make a good impression. My wife and I set up an appointment for 08/17/2021 at 0930. In the meantime I was getting a text about the measurement of the work we wanted completed...I don't know, I couldn't locate my tape measure, so I assumed since appointment was made whomever was the qoute person will measure the potential job when they arrived. I waited for someone to come no show. I called number voicemail was full. I even tried logging on website my wife forwarded to me, but it did not come up. I just tried same address & it came up...I only wish I had as much of luck and great service the other customers have written, but my interaction with this company was null. I wish your business well, just be more receptive especially if you set up an appointment but can't make it. Update. I received a call from owner today and it was pleasant. I was given an apology plus, an explanation of what & how things should have went. I appreciate that. So if you have a project that is in East California & your project is at least 5K...you may want to give this company a try, but if not and you have local contractors who can do the job I would refer you to do the latter. I will start by saying I love our patio cover, it is beautiful! The 4 star rating comes from what we were sold vs. what we received. Our perception of what we were getting vs. was we indeed did get. We debated heavily on the color of a particular middle exposed beam while chatting with the Sales guy, James. And by heavily, I mean at least 20 minutes alone debating what colors to go with. We decided white and Adobe, adobe being any part of the the posts and beam. We had a picture for reference of what we wanted it to look like. We LOVED the sales guy and made a decision and signed on the spot. Unfortunately, the sales guy was not aware that RKC has NEVER done an exposed beam in the center. This was a bit of a disappointment since we really wanted the beam and ended up not having one. We were quoted 5 weeks for parts to come in and them to start building. They tried booking us at 7 weeks but I gently nudged to have this sooner as per contract. They did come earlier which was great at 6 Weeks from signing. So be prepared for a little bit of a wait time. Overall we love our patio cover even though there were a few little hiccups! The owner called me to apologize for any misunderstandings and did compensate us for our challenges. This changed my ratings big time, he truly cared about us being happy with our new patio cover. Rick Crawford and his crew/employees are top notch! Our project was challenging and made difficult by factors outside Rick's control. He solved every problem and made everything right, so that our finished project was perfect. He hires and manages a great staff whose attention to detail and committment of just "doing the right thing" is rare in this age of empty contractor promises, lack of integrity, and less than adequate work. Recently had a patio cover installed by RKC. My main issue is with how they treated my backyard while handling the footings. They basically dumped cement runoff down not only the drains in the backyard with seemingly no care but they also appeared to go out of the way to dump it into the well around one of the trees in the backyard (caking the trunk in cement). Didn't particular like how it was handled once I complained about it (the guys who came out to "fix it" didn't particularly care and seemed to just want to do minimal work to try and make it looks less bad). The patio cover itself seems good (it has only been up a few days) but cannot recommend using them when there are other companies who actually care about their customer's property. read more
