We had the windows changed in our master bedroom by Coughlin Windows last year for more soundproofing (and also because the windows were fairly old/original from the 90s). I reached out to a few vendors, and Coughlin was by far the most helpful and informative. The whole process went smoothly, Kevin was very friendly and easy to work with; he provided the most information on what type of windows to get for our situation. He was very responsive and answered any questions we had. They also had very reasonable prices and detailed quotes. My husband told me on the day of installation, they were punctual, efficient and completed the window replacements on time. We got Simonton laminated double paned windows, and although they haven't blocked out as much sound as I hoped, they actually help a good deal with lowering hot temperatures in that room in the summer. It's been about a year and the windows still look great and work well (they're also much easier to slide open than our old windows). I would definitely recommend them! read more

I had Coughlin upgrade my condo by installing 10 retrofit double-pane Anlin windows and a patio door. I'm very happy with Coughlin's service and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Everything was smooth from start to finish. The initial estimate was detailed, the salesperson was friendly and knowledgeable, and the price was similar to other quotes I received. The install crew was also great- they were professional, did excellent work, and I'm grateful they completed the job in single day to help with my work schedule. The Anlin windows look lovely and function well. We recently had a heat wave and I definitely see they keep my home cooler. I paid for the extra sound proofing and it helped with noise. That wasn't as drastic an improvement as I hoped, but that probably says more about my expectations than the product. I also had a few small issues with the Anlin windows (some missing screw caps and a few rough edges on plastic bumpers in the window tracks). You don't get five stars on Yelp for doing crappy work and Coughlin Windows & Doors does not do crappy work. They do great work and in our recent experience (my mom and I), they were not only the right choice but also the right price. My mom has been slowly piecing back together her aging house by taking on small projects. Don't get me wrong, that woman isn't out there doing them herself, she opening her checkbook to have someone else sweat it out for her. Her latest "project?" Replacing the French doors that lead to the backyard. Those suckers were DONE! She did some research, threw me some pricing, and thought she had made a decision before presenting me with her findings. I took one look and told myself, "self, I can do better than that" and emailed the fine folks at Coughlin Windows & Doors. Just a few days later they came out with a catalog in hand, spend a few minutes taking a look at what we needed done, told us the best product for the job, gave us a price, set up a follow up meeting to measure, and we paid them a deposit. As we neared the timelines for both the measurement appointment and the install communication was clear with arrival dates and times well in advance so we could be ready. Before we knew it install date was upon us, they were right on time, they did the work, and I received a call from my mother absolutely gushing about how much she loves her new doors and exclaiming " I don't regret doing this one bit!" I saw the finished job a few days later and the woman wasn't wrong. They're beautiful, high quality, and installed perfectly. I needed to upgrade some old windows in my Townhome. I reached out to several companies in the area to get quotes. Diane from Coughlin Windows responded quickly. She was communicative and very easy to work with. Diane gathered all the initial info, and scheduled a consultation with Jared. Jared came over and did a walkthrough. Jared was very personable, knowledgeable, and straightforward. He walked me through options and helped me figure out what I needed, including some tempered glass on one panel for my HOA. He did not try to upsell me in any way. Jared was able to get me a detailed and competitive quote the same day. I decided to proceed. Diane and Jared scheduled a very reasonable install period about 4 weeks out from me accepting a quote. In the meantime, an engineer came by and confirmed the exact measurements of the windows. He also gave me a detailed walkthrough of the install process. A week before the install, Diane followed up and reconfirmed the details of the install. The window installers would arrive between 11AM and 12PM and then take two hours to install. On the actual install day, two installers arrived on time and installed the windows in under two hours. I am super impressed with their punctuality and skill. Overall I had a great experience from top to bottom with Coughlin Windows. Reached out to Coughlin Windows because I saw they had over 500 five star reviews. The salesperson, Kevin, came by and sold me on the "Premium" Simonton windows. Kevin seemed like a really cool dude and very knowledgeable as a former installer so I felt I could trust him, the company he represents and the product he was selling. Installers came by, very professional and a nice group of guys, installed 25 windows and 2 sliding glass doors in 3 days and pretty clean work, it was obvious they cared about the work they did, very cool. When doing the final walk-through, I was surprised to find 2 of the windows weren't working properly, one wouldn't lock and the other single hung window wouldn't stay open. Also, 2 screens were missing. I called Mike to complain but he assured me that Coughlin Windows and Simonton would correct the situation and take care of me to make sure I was happy with the product and service. He started the warranty process and not too much time later, the 2 windows were fixed and screens installed. In summary I'd say Coughlin Windows is a great all around company and deserving of 5 stars, I'll be a return customer for my investment properties, and you can't beat the glass quality and double lifetime warranty of the Simonton windows. I've interviewed maybe 5 different window companies before settling on Coughlin. They're not the cheapest. But they seemed to have overall best after-sales reviews. I got my whole house windows replaced to something more energy efficient and noise reducing. The staff who came to my home was respectful and courteous. However, we ran into some issues while we were finalizing our contract. 2 of the window I wanted to add additional features couldn't be done d/t it's large size. There were a lot of back and forth which delayed the project. The installation was quick. The staff who came to install were professional. The only complain I have is that during the sale process, I distinctly remember being told the screens will be replaced for free for the lifetime of the window. However 6 months in, one of the screen was warped and I called the company to replace it, only to be told it was not a life-time warranty. But rather a 1 year limited warranty. I'm not sure where the misunderstanding happened. But they were pretty quick to come out and replace the screen window. read more

I received a quote from 1 other small business who also has good reviews and their sales rep was less than impressive and provided a quote for some Anlin windows. Then Jared from Coughlin came by with his company hat and shirt looking professional and is very personable. He has a consultation sales approach took some basic measurements and addressed my concerns. We ended up with a Simonton for the quote also reasonably priced. Then I had Lowe's come out and their price was double for a Milgard or Pella. So, I went with Coughlin. Gerald came out for the 2nd measurement made a slight order change and today was install date. My new windows seemed to have turned out well and their pricing is competitive. However, their customer service was not good after I reported a cleaning issue with them. I emailed them first about the issue - that I had no idea their installers would use my sink to rinse caulk down my drain and that my sink drain clogged up after I cleaned up what looked like their leftover caulk in my sink. The first paragraph in their email response said it was my fault for not forewarning them about my sink. . . And Why do they even rinse caulk down my sink? I spoke to the manager over the phone the next day and he was empathetic to the situation and acknowledged that it happened. He informed me the owner will contact me next week about it. I got an email from the CFO (with last name Coughlin) the next week insisting that I gave them permission to wash hands with caulk in my sink, which I did not. I had a phone call with her to go over what I saw in my sink after their use - 2 big white putty like clumps which looked like dried caulk- that I cleaned up and rinsed down the sink. But after rinsing it down my sink would not drain and I regretted doing that. She would not acknowledge that the occurrence happened or that it could possibly be caulk that I saw in my sink. She even questioned if it was perhaps another contractor or someone else used my sink after her installer. I told her no one used it afterwards and it seems that she doesn't believe what I am telling her. She said she believes me but 'Do I have photos?' No, I didn't take photos. So I guess because I didn't take photos it never happened?! She then told me that the caulk they use instantaneously dissolves when contacted with water so it is not possible for their caulk to cause clogging in a drain at all. For real? I have never heard of this magic caulk. I told her that I was shocked by her responses but she thought nothing was wrong with her responses. She even bragged to me about how her thousands of customers praise her all the time for their cleanliness. I hope nothing ever goes wrong with the new installed windows. I would hate to have to deal with their customer service ever again and who knows if they would even acknowledge the problem or any wrongdoing on their end. Edit to review in response to their comment: They did offer to come back, but it was offered a week after I had already cleaned up the mess and the immediate clog had been declogged. I asked if they had a plumber in their business who can look at the drain and they said they are not plumbers. So I declined their offer to return. What could they do other than look at a clean declogged sink? This is why I requested a reasonable compensation amount for the plumbing fix and cleaning costs. I decided I needed to write this review of my negative customer service experience mainly because of the interaction I had with the CFO. I felt treated like a lying criminal during most of the 20 minute phone conversation I had with her. Being called an extortionist for a fair request and trying to provide constructive criticism to better the business is another prime example of the terrible customer treatment I received. read more

I wanted to provide an update on my review from 2020. I recently ran into an issue with my French Door locking system. I called Coughlin and spoke to Jennifer. She was super helpful and friendly and scheduled a time for Casey (tech) to come out to look at the problem. He diagnosed that I needed a new mortise lock and handle. It has been over 5 years and Coughlin provided me information on the warranty with the Manufacturer. Fast forward, I ran into challenges with my warranty and asked Coughlin for help. Diane responded and has been my point of contact. She is all over helping to escalate to the right contact to fix the issue. I am floored at how proactive and responsive they have been. Working with Coughlin Windows & Doors was a pretty seamless experience. Kevin S., who did the initial quote, was so incredibly knowledgeable and helpful with the whole process. Coughlin was the first quote I got and I pretty much made up my mind right after that no other company would do. Kevin even helped my answer idiotic questions from my HOA, who were clueless about the whole process. (I guess no one in my neighborhood has retrofitted their windows). The installers were great--very respectful and courteous and my windows look amazing. My suggestions for improvements would just be to hire more installers so the work could be done in fewer days. It took 3 days for my 20 windows to be retrofitted, but that was with a couple of guys only working from about 8:00 am to about 1:30 or 2 pm. Maybe that could have been cut down to 2 days if the installers worked one or two extra hours or added another person. Also, no one showed me all the features of my windows, I figured them out on my own. I also never saw an actual physical sample of the windows--just viewed pictures in the catalog. I am a very visual person so having a sample I could touch and operate would have been extremely helpful. Other than those minor exceptions I loved working with Coughlin and would do so again in the future. read more

I usually go with the big-box stores for windows but this time I chose a local company. I've outlined the process of ordering windows at Coughlin. Their service at all levels was friendly and courteous. Here's their process. 1. Call and book a quote. 2. Sales rep will schedule an appointment ( a few days later) 3. Sales rep will show up and get a quote for you that same afternoon. If you're interested you'll call the rep back. 4. You call the rep and the rep will take a small deposit and you'll sign a contract to continue the process. In our case the sales guy came back over to our house to pick up the contract. I think it was like $250. They proceed to move you to the installer phase. (Note that sales and installation are two seperate tracks at Coughlin) 5. A few days later the installer will call and book a time to make precise measurements and to collect the first half of the windows payment (minus the 250 you already paid). You'll get a rough estimate on when the windows will be manufacturered. It was a 2 month waiting period because of supply-chain issues. 6. You'll get a call that your windows are ready and to book an installation time. About a week later was the first availability. 7. A few days before your appointment you'll get a call from Coughlin reminding you of the installation and what the remaining balance of the windows will be. 8. Installation day... Caesar and Jose arived on-time and worked throughout the day installing our windows. 9. You'll get a follow-up call that afternoon asking how the installation went. You can also make the final payment at this time. This company is heavy on service and is probably a welcome change compared to more corporate window companies. Overall I was satisfied with the windows. Delays in manufacturing were to be expected. Splitting up the bid process and the precise measurements as two differnt workflows caused delays in time. I get it though, getting a quick quote is probably what most people are looking for anyway.. All in it was about three months from first contact to windows being installed.. read more
