I really love this place. And so dogs my dog!! I take my fur baby here for day care. She gets super excited when I even mention it to her and when we drive around the corner she jumps for joy and runs inside like she owns the place. (Thats says enough on its own) I really love how they take holiday pics of your animals and make them feel extra special on their birthday. I've been bringing my doggy here since I adopted him from the shelter. When I got him he had healing wounds and a bad leg. I've tried so hard to get him to trust people again. I picked him up today from grooming and I noticed he had red markings on him. To me it looked like blood. I went back inside to tell them he was bleeding and they told me it was from the sling and that it was a rash. I was so upset because they didn't tell me when I picked him up. I don't fully believe them because he had markings on his neck, chest, leg, and ears. I feel like they handled him rough or put him with another dog. I trusted them with him. He's had such a hard life and it hurts that I put him in a situation where he got hurt. I wouldn't have posted this if they just told me but I had to find the markings on my own. read more

Other dog parent from recent review: We brought our puppy for their first full day daycare after their evaluation since we were still impressed by the staff and as expected they were quite efficient on check-in and thorough with the follow-up. I had a chat with some of their staff and they were very transparent on the processes and it does seem they took our recent feedback seriously and constructively - signs of a good business. I would like to speak for all new pet owners: Even though this business (or others) are experienced pet daycare, us new pet parents need to be eased into daycare/boarding/etc since these pets are family to us and we require more reassurance in the beginning (especially since our pup is a bit nervous!) - and this time, they were really awesome to keep me updated whether through Instagram or via email updates. So based on my experience so far, it was a rough start with the communication but it has since improved, so overall quite happy with how the full day daycare was and how awesome their staff is. I do hope to continue to rely on the Riverwalk team to help take care of our pet baby! read more

Since our first review has been DELETED. I will continue posting this information for awareness on boarding. We left our dogs in early November for our wedding. We called regularly to ask how they are doing because that is the only way to get updates. Every time we called we were told "they're doing good". We confided they were doing good. Upon pick up we were shocked to see one of dogs had a terrible nose scrape his raw skin was pink. We went to ask the receptionist what happened and we were told "they did not know " or that "the evening staff maybe knew". We called several times and they gave us different stories every time, as to he came in like that (which he DIDN'T) we have pictures confirming his state before drop off. Another issue, we were told the dogs were given baby food mixed in to their dog food to stimulate them to eat. We have never gave our dogs baby food and as a result they came home with Diarrhea. Please be advised as to the state our dogs nose is in now (December) and has not yet nor ever will heal. read more

I researched quite a few of the local daycare and boarding places and ended up choosing Riverside Pet Resort. My pups have stayed the night as well as attend daycare. Although one of my pups (of two) has to be separated (dominant), they allow the 2 to have their own play time. The staff have been friendly and answer questions I may have. The resort has an IG page which they often post stories throughout the day. The prices are reasonable and worth the cost if you need daycare or overnight stay. They recently increased but nowadays what isn't - again worth the cost knowing your fur-baby is in good hands. :) read more

This facility has gone from great to terrible. We have been clients for about 5 years know and stuck around through Covid and new ownership. Although we didn't love all of the changes made when ownership changed they always made it right. However, recently service has declined: Katie who answers the phone is never in a rush and hardly helpful and tells me my dog has "enemies" that bully her. I can ask to speak to the facility and am constantly told they will call if they have time but if I am called it's not for hours. They have changed rules and continued not to express these changes until it is too late and we are in a pinch. I will be finishing our daycare package and be moving to another one of the new facilities down the road in hopes for a better facility with less issues and better customer service. Been bring my my dog here for 2 years or so and the few visits they have been cutting my dogs hair the way they want. So I confronted them abt It. I was never rude. They gave me $35 credit. So I took him back today and the same thing happened today. They cut his hair the way the wanted to. I would have preferred for them to let me know they couldn't do his teddy bear cut. (Mind you they In itially started off giving him the teddy bear cut) so when I let them know that I didn't like the cut and ai was gonna leave a bad, all of a sudden ai ha e been hostile. I just called to book my bunny a 2-night stay and found out that they have new ownership which I'm really not happy with. It used to be $15/night for a small animal in a cage. Then it increased to $20/night at the beginning of the year which is reasonable. Now there's all these stipulations on drop off and pick up time. If I want to drop off before 1PM, it's an additional $20...basically paying for another night. And if I want to pick up after 12PM, it's a $18 fee...basically an additional night. So what should've been $40 for 2-night stay turns into $78. This is a rabbit stuck in a cage all day. They also wanted a 50% deposit - nice way of telling loyal customers that you think they're lying thieves. VERY unhappy with these changes and while it's not easy finding rabbit boarding, I will go the extra mile to find a more reasonable place. PS: It sounds ridiculous that the recorded greeting is in a UK accent. They've lost a loyal customer today and I will not be recommending them any longer. read more

I brought my German Shepherd there for daycare for the first time under new management. The staff acted if though they didn't want me or my dog there. They finally took my dog in the back, after a few minutes the manager ask me to step outside. He says, your dog is real nervous and he is under weight by 15-20 pounds. I told him my dog just went to the vet last week, he is Fed well and the vet said he was fine. We left and the next day animal services show up at my door. I let him see my dog and he said my dog looks fine and very happy. I took him to the vet again and the vet said he was fine and if I had concerns I can give him another cup of food. My dog is 20 years old & has an excellent bill of health from the vet as long as he takes his meds, he's fine. Another boarding place that he always went to turned him down due to his age. It didn't matter to them that he had a clean bill of health from the vet. They flat out refused to board him. So I contacted Riverwalk and they said no problem as long as the vet cleared him and he had his shots. I boarded him here and he was a happy dog. The people here are very nice and obviously love animals. They sent pictures of him to my email and when my husband picked him up, he was in great condition and obviously had done ok there. They were very loving to him when I asked if someone could hold him during his stay, they had a worker spend time with him. This is a great place to board your pet and if your dog is elderly it's not a problem, they keep them in a calmer group of dogs when they play. read more

The service I requested was to have my dog stay for daycare and to have vaccine administered. The first time I went there for vaccine. A guy with long hair completed them infront of me and I appreciate that. However this time which was "Amy" if that's her real name, she lied and said she needed to get the card. Came back and said she already gave it. How do I know if it's the right one? How do I know she gave it? I don't. And I don't appreciate that at all. I explained to her, what if it was her kid, do you just take your kids and give them vaccine without you present?? No! She obviously didn't care! And had no respect for it. read more

It's refreshing to arrive to an establishment where workers like their job, but it's comforting knowing that these caretakers like their job and will care for your dog as their own. We recently boarded with Riverwalk Dog Spa and participated in a 4 hour evaluation. Amy, Ahylie, Drew, & all other staff made us feel comfortable leaving our dogs in their care. The suites were clean and well taken care of. Dogs were fed and all toys/belongings were returned. Our dog's bed was even washed/cleaned before being returned. We were called when an incident occurred and we were kept well informed. This staff went above and beyond to make a nervous dog owner comfortable and exceeded my expectations with my dogs. Would highly recommend others to take a tour of this facility and opt for dog boarding or daycare. read more

I've been taking my very high maintenance male German shepherd to Riverwalk Pet Resort for almost 2 years now. We cannot leave him home alone for more than 5 minutes. He gets really bad separation anxiety so I take him here very regularly. I know he likes his experience here. He gets really excited every time we make that turn onto Severn Way and he practically pulls me into the front door. The staff are always excited to see him and they have clearly put a lot of thought into providing a fulfilling experience for my sometimes anxious pup. I know he can be a little anxious around other dogs and they took the time to group him with other animals that play most appropriately with him. Sometimes when I pick him up he's a little stinky, but I know my boy and I also know he likes to scent rub on walls or bushes that other dogs have urinated on. You can tell they truly love our pets the way we do. They're super kind and helpful. They were so accommodating to this military family and showed empathy. They even hold parties for the dogs/cats. They had a Halloween party for all doggies with costumes and treats and had a good bye party for our doggies when they were due to be picked up for good. I Googled "flea bath for cats" and this place popped up. I'm not from this area. I found an abandoned kitten in a parking lot and upon noticing a flea, immediately made an appointment. When I pulled up I realized it was a dog grooming place but they were so nice! I forget the groomer's name, Shea? I am so saddened to have to write this review honestly. I have 2 dogs and although they would both come here I typically brought only one. It was on my way to work, had good hours, and financially there were some things that worked. Plus the dog loved coming and the staff was always so wonderful. Then things started changing and I was told there were "new owners" and they were shifting things. First was the military/first responder discount.....ok fine I didn't serve to get that and it was a simple bonus. Then the prices changed a bit.....inflation so it's fair. Then the straw that broke the camels back for me the packages and policies changed. The staff could no longer split my full days into half days. So because of work schedule sometimes I would need half or full days. It was simple to buy a full day pack and just break them down as needed. Not anymore now I have to buy BOTH full and half day packs to do that since there was no mixed option. Yeah sorry you are trying to get me to buy 2 packs hoping the timer ticks out on some of what I pay for and you get some extra free cash. I voiced my concern to the staff and every one I talked to agreed it was an issue and that I was not the only one bringing it up. They even said the new owners were told and "didn't think it was going to be that big of a deal" and that "they don't expect people to stop coming." Well wrong at least for me. Not only do I not come for daycare, but I took my boarding and grooming business elsewhere too. I get you have to make money but you should also consider the customer at least a little. Clearly the new owners are not doing that. read more

I have been bringing my goldendoodle here for over a year now- mind you, having MULTIPLE occasions of neglect, lies, expensive vet visits after leaving. I I should have stopped trusting these people A LONG TIME AGO- however this time the neglect of this place was beyond DISGUSTING!! I left my dog recently for ONE NIGHT and asked for a grooming before I picked him up. I picked him up like nothing happened, and asked "How was my dog?" Them, with a smile, "Everything was great! He did great!" - the fake response I usually get. Sure enough as soon as I get home I look in my dogs right ear only to find a GIANT GASH of FRESH BLOOD and scarring in multiple spots!!! I called them to ask them if it was a grooming incident or if he got bit. Groomer said he didn't see anything but that my dog didn't want him to touch that ear so he "avoided it". HOW? Then I ask them to keep investigating and sure enough, the response "I think he's the one Cooper went after on Monday. Tristen had separated them and looked him over to make sure he was okay." WOW!! SO THEY KNEW THAT ANOTHER DOG WENT AFTER HIM! THEY KNEW HE WAS HURT AND TRIED TO PLAY IT OFF LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED!!!!!!! NO CALL OR TEXT OR EMAIL FROM THE OWNER. She simply DOES NOT CARE!!! OTHER HORRIBLE THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED HERE: A few months back I picked him up and of course, no sign of anything bad happening there. I take my dog home and he has the WORST NON STOP DIARRHEA you can ever think of, and sure enough, he had gotten a parasite from this place!! What did they say?? NOTHING! Did they take accountability for most likely NOT PROPERLY CLEANING OR PICKING UP POOP to where my dog had to be given fluids and on multiple antibiotics costing me over $300, MORE than I spent on his stay there! Again, OWNER PLAYS DUMB AND DOES NOT CARE. After this happened, I should have known better to not bring him back, but again, me wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt, I took him back again only because one of the employees had said "well the owner wants to give you 4 free nights of boarding for what happened". I figured okay, still weird that THE OWNER HERSELF couldn't call me to say I'm sorry for what happened, I'll comp your next stay; it's one of the employees. When I brought him for that next stay, I was out of town so I had missed a few calls. I check my voicemail to see that one of the employees had called on his personal phone to say that my dog wasn't up to date on one of the most recent shots. So instead of WAITING FOR ME TO CALL BACK TO VERIFY THAT IT WAS OKAY TO GIVE MY DOG THE VACCINE, I END UP FINDING OUT THAT THEY GAVE IT TO HIM ANYWAYS!!! When I found out I said wait.. do you do that with all the dogs? And he said "because of what happened (with him getting sick the time before) the owner wanted to include the vaccinations with your comped stay". So was I supposed to be happy that the shots were free? Even though I NEVER EVER HAD CALLED BACK TO CONSENT THAT IT WAS OKAY TO GIVE IT TO HIM! My mind kept racing thinking, what if I had JUST given him his vaccines from his vet but just forgot to tell the dog boarding? And they double vaccinate him?? This is ALL SO NOT OKAY!!!! They also do NOT WANT TO GIVE YOU A TOUR OF THE PLACE, the excuse was always oh because of Coronavirus, no tours. So now that that's all been out of the excuses, this time around I said hey, I want a tour. The employee kept AVOIDING my request to for a quick tour and kept helping every other person who had just walked in. Even as I had been waiting for 15+ minutes for him to help other people who also came in after me. Wonder why they always avoid tours? Why you can't see the cameras from home? Oh to top it off, during this time of me asking for the tour, I couldn't help but notice that there was a big red note on my dogs file that said "supervised play only- may be a poop eater". WHAT? My dog in the 4 years I've had him has NEVER eaten or even thought to eat poop in front of me. So disgusting. But yet that's a giant note on his file and again NOT ONE PERSON EVER BOTHERED TO TELL ME A THING!!!! I just hope that anyone even considering, and all current pet owners who use this place will THINK OTHERWISE IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMALS. I have found that using the Rover app is much more trustworthy with your loved ones than this place. I have a 17 year old Maltese so he requires a lot of special attention and gentle care so I'm always a bit nervous leaving him in others' care, but that's exactly what he gets here!
