They don't answer the phone ever and then take forever to treat you there even though you have an appointment

Crystal Clear Hearing Center - Keith's Office

My husband and I are very satisfied with our experience at Crystal Clear Hearing. Keith is very…read moreknowledgeable and takes ample time to explain and demonstrate the use of the hearing aids. He and his wife are courteous and very responsive, and we had no communication problems. The hearing aids are working well and providing the small amount of correction I needed in everyday conversations and crowded environments. We are able to highly recommend these providers.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was so mishandled that I feel obligated to warn others…read more If I could leave a zero star review I would. My father purchased hearing aids under a trial period that ended on December 28. Multiple attempts were made before the trial period ended to return the hearing aids, yet the office refused to accept them and hid behind technicalities, poor communication, and silence. On December 9, during an in-office appointment, my father clearly stated that he wanted to return the hearing aids because he was unhappy. Rather than explaining the return deadline or process, Keith told him there were still "adjustments" to try. He did not clearly state that the hearing aids had to be physically returned before the end of the trial period. On December 26, an email was sent requesting to return the hearing aids. Another email followed on December 27 from my father initiating the return. The office was closed on December 28 for the holidays, yet no guidance was provided about how returns would be handled during that closure. Keith did not respond until December 30, stating the trial period had ended and the hearing aids could not be returned. To make matters worse, follow-up emails and phone calls went unanswered. When we followed up again in January, the response cited HIPAA--despite the fact that I personally attended the first appointment, completed the paperwork, and was listed as a point of contact. At a second appointment, we even asked if additional authorization paperwork was needed to assist with communication and were explicitly told that was not needed and note would be added to my father's chart. Keith has discretion to extend the trial period. Knowing my father was unhappy, knowing the next appointment wasn't until March, and knowing the office would be closed at the very end of the trial period, he chose not to extend it--or even clearly explain the deadline. Instead, it feels like time was allowed to quietly run out. This was not a misunderstanding. It was a failure of transparency, communication, and basic ethics. The experience left us feeling dismissed, ignored, and taken advantage of--especially troubling when dealing with an elderly patient making a significant financial and medical decision. Extremely disappointing and not a practice I would recommend to families who expect honesty and clear guidance.

However, I visited them during the pandemic, October, 2020, because I felt like one of my aids was not working. The office person, Gabby Romero, who walked out to my car at my appt. time was rude, condescending and quite off-putting. Her know-it-all attitude, and outrageous call out of prices for adjusting, programming, repairing and re-tubing a hearing aid especially if you did not purchase your hearing aids from them is insulting! Don't even expect a loaner even if you did choose to have them send it out for a repair. I have been a life-time hearing aid wearer since I was 6 yrs old and am now 67. I have spent thousands of dollars on hearing aids in my lifetime, as have many of my family members as we suffer from a hearing loss hereditary condition. My husband bought my aids online from a company: HEARING CARE SOLUTIONS for a total of $2800. They said any local hearing aid dealer could program and service them. They were the exact same hearing aids that Julie Ball recommended for my severe hearing loss at almost half the cost she wanted to charge me. I was loving the service they provided me with my new aids but always thought when I had to deal with Gabby, she seemed agitated by me, and my knowledge of hearing aids. This was from 2017 thru 2020. Yes I'm still wearing those same hearing aids today! But I will not go back to this office as long is she is employed there. I now go to Kay who has an office in my ENT Dr. Hannah Bui's office. They're office is a lil outdated but the service is impeccable! Although Kay charges me $30 to retube my hearing aids. I'm happy to pay to be treated kindly and appropriately. Also, I cannot speak for their Brea office, but I would drive out of my way to use that office over the Anaheim one if Gabby Romero is still employed there. It has taken me awhile to put this into words but I feel anyone that wears hearing aids might find this helpful.

Disclaimer - I do know Dr. Kun personally however I am picky about my healthcare providers & have paid for my service. Recently I woke up with sudden hearing loss in one ear & I was so confused as it has never happened before. After some light research, I reached out to Dr. Kun as I knew she is an audiologist, I learned one should definitely get it checked within 72 hours or the risk is permanent hearing damage / loss. Dr. Kun was able to see me same day (thankfully) due to the urgency and performed a hearing test and confirmed my diagnosis of sudden hearing loss in that ear, and also checked it wasn't being blocked by maybe wax or something else. She referred me to another hearing doctor to get prescribed medication + a second opinion, which I did, and she prepared and provided a report for the doctor. Thankfully my hearing did back to normal & she followed up and confirmed with a follow up hearing test. I'm thankful for the quality of care & professionalism, and thankfully they do take my insurance so I had a small copay only. If you have any hearing concerns, I highly recommend Kun hearing!

I needed the molds to make custom fitted ear protection and I found out that not all audiologists are willing do produce molds for this.
