Unfortunately, over those 3 years, my pain intensified, became widespread, and turned chronic. But finding Wan-Kai, the owner and primary PT, in 2017 completely changed the trajectory of my life. Wan-Kai takes a hands-on approach to his treatment and will spend the entire hour and finding your referred pain points. He once determined that my wrist and elbow pain was stemming from the fascia in my cheeks: he used deep pressure to release the tension, and I immediately felt relief and was in awe of his expertise. You will be amazed by how much he knows about the interconnected pathways of the body that most other PTs do not, because those ones rarely spend time working with their hands literally on their patients, checking their entire bodies from head to toe. I am beyond grateful to have found Wan-Kai and his practice, and I have already decided to do everything in my power to schedule time with him when I need it, regardless of the travel or wait time that would require of me.

I retired a little over a year ago after working as a Law Enforcement Officer for 28 years and…read morecompleting a 6 year enlistment as a combat MOS Marine before that (translation: broken body parts). During that time I had seven orthopedic surgeries to patch things up along the way, all requiring lengthy physical therapies to get back to the job. All of that means little, but it most certainly did give me a familiarity with the whole physical therapy process. I got very accustomed to the grind of attending physical therapy, which became a love/hate relationship, with the emphasis on the hate! All four of the previous practices I visited were pretty much all the same in that the first few visits included attentive interactions with the physical therapists, before being released to work mostly with the young physical therapy assistants. After a while it always felt like I was on autopilot from there on out, though I didn't know any better and just accepted it as being the norm. Enter the Move Well Physical Therapy practice in Cypress California! I was fortunate enough to find this practice and "especially" fortunate to have Kevin Galacgac be assigned as my therapist! Not only is Kevin super personable, his knowledge on therapy blew me away when compared to my previous therapists. His ability to understand my hamstring and forearm injuries were immediate, and his prescribed courses of exercises were deliberately designed to layer my strength rehabilitation by gradually starting with my tendons and working up to my muscles. Even better, I was never once released to a 20 something year old assistant, who often times very obviously did not know what they were doing. Nope, every single session was 100% Kevin the entire time and he was on me the whole way not only ensuring that I was performing the exercises correctly, but ensuring as well that I knew why I was doing them and how they were going to help heal my injuries. No BS, no pomp, no fluff, no coddling, just professionally focused physical therapy! As a Mr. Nobody, I felt compelled to write this review and praise Kevin for helping me get back on my feet, which is definitely harder to do these days at 55 years old. Thank you Kevin, I appreciate your help so much and I know exactly where to go the next time I do something stupid!

MoveWell is well kept, you'll often see someone straightening or cleaning/organizing. The equipment and overall health of the facility is great. The location and parking are both easy. Kristen and the ladies at the front desk are pleasant, helpful and they always welcome you with a kind, warm smile. Insurance questions, general questions - they got you covered. Thank you Kristen! I worked with Kevin as my PT. Right off the bat I knew we were the right match. He was all ears and asked me a ton of questions to best understand my needs and how can help me achieve my goal. He curated and explained what we are going to do so that my knee will allow me to run again. He shared the "why" behind the movements/workouts and how it plays into the big picture. When you are aligned and in lockstep with your PT, anything is possible. It's been a while but I'm starting to jog again! Thank you for the assist Kevin. Not only was scheduling every appointment super easy, but Gary also made each session feel like I was talking to a good friend who really cared about what was going on with my body. Every session was conversational, educational, fun, and very insightful. Gary truly has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to physical therapy and he made sure I wasn't just doing the exercises, but also understanding why I needed to be doing them. Gary listened to my concerns, provided reassurance, and was always flexible to adjust based on my needs/progress. About 5 months of working with Gary and I am back to regular running and ready to take on some races this year. I'll be forever grateful to Gary and the LPI team for changing the trajectory of my running journey for the better. He also played a huge role in helping my mom believe that recovery was possible with consistency and training. She was initially doubtful she'd ever return to her normal activities, but within just a couple of months she was moving comfortably again and even traveling with no issues. Gary was always patient, welcoming to any and all questions, and treated my mom with genuine care every step of the way. We're so grateful for his expertise and support!!

I have had both great, average, and poor care in physical therapy. I am very active, so I have always been highly motivated to exercise and follow directions given to me by my doctor and therapist. This physical therapy office is subpar. The first time I came after my initial evaluation, my physical therapist was over booked and was running back in forth in the office, so I got very little attention. Unfortunately, this was not a one time occurrance. Every week I was told to do my exercises and then left to my own devises. Often, I didn't know what to do because of the lack of guidance. Because I have a lot of atrophy in my left leg, I do have a difficult time performing excercises correctly. I have relied on my physical therapist to watch me, correct me when my form is bad. In addition, I have needed different types of exercises over the years because not all of my surgeries have been the same. At this location, I was not given a home exercise program. The therapist said to just do the exercises I was already doing. A few times, I was told to add an exercise or two to what I was doing at home, but each time, the therapist quickly demonstrated the exercise but did not have me try it under his supervision or give me written directions. All of this led to me pulling a muscle at home. I am concerned my recovery is not occuring fast enough so I can successfully return to work on time, and that I will not get full use of my knee and leg because of inadequate physical therapy. I did express my concerns to my physical therapist twice. After the first time, nothing changed. The second time I stated what I said above, and the therapist did take more time with me. He told me that his supervisor did require them to be overbooked and did not provide enough aides to assist him. Unless the owners or supervisor steps in or if you are very vocal about wanting to be guided and given attention, I doubt you will receive effective therapy here. On a positive note, I did receive a massage and time on the electrical stim machine every visit. The massage was not as deep as I would have liked, but it better than nothing.
