We miss the other great Thai restaurant that was here in town and so we thought we'd give this place a try. Here's the good and the bad- The food was actually pretty good. We had Pad Thai and yellow curry. The price was reasonable and the serving size what you'd expect. The location while convenient is in a sketchy little section of shops and next door to a smoke shop that I wasn't comfortable in at night - too many questionable characters. This place had such great reviews that I had to give it a try! I brought my friends who are virgins to Thai food so I had to take them to the best. This is a small mom and pop shop. They are closed Mondays and you need a key to use the restroom. There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant. We got the Tom yum goong (with shrimp) large, panang curry, pad Thai, crying tiger, and BBQ chicken to share family style. I was a little wary as my friends couldn't handle spicy food and Thai food could get spicy really easily. But my friends were able to handle it just fine. There's 5 levels of spicy. We only asked for level 2 and it was perfect for those who like mild-medium spicy. As for the food, everything was flavorful and delicious! According to the menu, the sauce for the crying tiger was supposed to be spicy. But it wasn't. Just had a lot of spices and black pepper in it. My friends ate it perfectly fine. The BBQ chicken came out like a rotisserie chicken with an entire half chicken. So if you want boneless, that is not for you. As for desserts, the fried banana was good. We ordered our standbys, Pad Thai & Curry Chicken for To-go. They were prepared fresh & fast while we stood by and hot when we got home. Both dishes were great and did not disappoint. My wife recommended this place as she's been here Several times. I was expecting delicious Thai food for lunch. Experience was very poor. We waited 15 minutes for the server to take our order and finally had to call her to our table to place the order. My wife's food arrived cold. We returned it for another dish which was wet soggy Pad Thai. Server never apologized for the cold food. Appetizer was under cooked chicken. Yuck! My dish was hot but little to no taste. It was the most bland curry I ever had. Very bad experience from service to food safety (cold, under cooked) to poor flavor (bland curry, soggy Pad Thai).
