This place is great! Employees are helpful to the point of walking you right to the item and making sure you find what you need. Generally, they seem more mature and knowledgeable than the employees at the big box hardware stores. Sale prices are usually good and it's much closer to home than either of the big 2. Parking is limited and access to the lot is sometimes a challenge because of Van Buren traffic, but those are minor issues. It's also nice to be able to patronize a smaller neighborhood business. It feels like a traditional old hardware store and I like that. You don't feel like you are going on a hike if you have to walk from one end of the store to the other. This location actually occupies two buildings separated by a parking lot. Signs direct customers to the building most likely to have the items you need. If they could do all this and keep prices as low as the big box stores, I'd give them 6 stars! read more

Good old fashion American hospitality. These are wonderful people. They helped me look for the right option for my replacement sink squirting gun hose. Also they helped me with wheel barrows to see if they fit in my car before purchasing. They went a got a flatted table from the back because the one I bought wouldn't fit in my car. They always ask what they can do to help and it makes me not feel like an idiot walking in there not too keen on hardware things. Any little thing I need I don't mind going there because I feel right at home - and in this day and age thats hard to find anywhere. Also the Sarsaparilla in the drink cooler is a rare find and I always try and pick up a few bottle when I can afford to splurge a bit. read more

I am a frequent customer of DYI hardware stores and on occasion must rely on the expertise of the employees. My nine year old son needed Materials for his science fair project. When we arrived, there were many customers in the store preparing for the holidays and it could have been very easy to overlook this little nine-year-old customer. However, Mark and Sean were very attentive to my son's questions and helpful in assisting us in choosing the right materials for the project. I will come to this ace for all of my hardware needs. This is the fastest way to get your needed project materials, and the prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to serve. I can get in and out, AND home again working on my project in less than 20 minutes. I hardly lose any momentum at all. If I go to Home Depot or Lowe's, it will take me at least an hour for the round trip. If you have a Traeger Grill and you are looking for pellets for it... This hardware store has bags of pellets. It is probably the only place in Riverside the has pellets. The store is well kept up and clean. This Ace Hardware store has anything you can think of when it comes to hardware. It is split into two stores. One has paint, garden supplies, cleaning stuff. The other has the more heaver hardware like hinges, lights, welding equipment, etc. A group that we belong to had an event at this store. It was a Halloween trunk or treat for the kids with a petting zoo. The whole event turned out excellent. Denise, the assistant manager of the store was a very big help. When I am in the area, I will remember to stop by this store if I need any hardware items. read more

Unfortunately I have to give a one-star because it will not allow you to give a 0 star I went in this morning and asked an older gentleman about L brackets he told me where they were and I check and then my next question was I needed small screws and he said I'll be right with you 5 minutes later I asked him for help again and he said I'll be right with you. All I wanted was 30 seconds of his time but he was too busy talking with a customer that was not in need of any service. Never coming back here again!!!!! I shop at this place on a regular basis and have always found them to be knowledgeable and helpful. My last trip (this past week) related to electrical materials and Mark was able to find what I needed and gave me suggestions on a challenge I was dealing with. I have never had a problem when needing to return an item either. Very different from the large warehouse stores. Prices are more than Home Depot or a bigger store but as far as convenience to Woodcrest this is the best place to buy hardware on plumbing and electric stuff right here in town. That was a Horrible Online order pickup experience! I wont be using that service again. First it took three days for them to get my order Ready! Then when I finally got my email I went and stood at the counter about for 5 minutes in line and an employee came and helped another customer that was behind me in line that just walked up and did not notice me standing there waiting! Great place if you're confused about a home repair/project for the house. Everyone there is very eager to help. Not only are they there to guide you down the right aisle they're very informative as to why it's broken to the best solution to your problem. My husband went in there last wk completely confused and lost about the electrical in our home. Mark greeted him and they spoke about the problem. The next thing I knew he was at our door the next day & spent over 3 hours here trying to help us figure out the mess the last electrician did. Mark told us this was a pretty big job. Last Saturday I had the pleasure of being helped by a gentleman at Ace Woodcrest who assisted me on a couple of projects I was working on. Mark, an older white haired man with glasses, gave me excellent solutions for what I was attempting to do. It is so nice to have so many helpful associates, like the lady in garden who I 'talked tomatoes' with, the young man who knew where the butterfly bolts were, and many others from my several visits recently.
