One of my favorite places t' grub! The burgers are made to order with about any toppings you could want. The 12oz patty with any amount of toppings will fill you up. Their wings are some of the best around. They're grilled to perfection an' taste phenomenal. They could stand to be tossed in sauce, but just order some extra for dipping. The ranch is homemade an' very good too. My personal tip is to get the club sandwich, hot. It's the best around. Their potato chips are homemade with an awesome home ranch based sauce that I love. The service is excellent. Ya walk in, find your own table an' a server come finds you, an' takes great care of ya. You'll not be disappointed here. Great local sports bar/restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The food is good, the drinks are cold, and the staff is friendly. What more do you need? Love their burgers and brick oven pizzas. I'd heard about how good the salads are here so I ordered the Main Street Salad for pickup. My husband got a cheeseburger and we got fried pickles. He said his burger was tasty although not particularly juicy. My salad was fresh and had a nice variety of vegetables, and they got my order right! and left off the cheese. On the menu the chicken was described as "lightly fried". I think they meant the batter was supposed to be light (it wasn't) because underdone chicken seems like a bad idea. The chicken was hammered, so that was sad. The ranch was meh. The pickles were tasty-briney They lost their crispness because they steamed in the styrofoam container. Note-cut a hole in a top corner to let the steam out. It will make your customers happy. We will probably go back but it didn't live up to the hype. read more

Great food, but whatever phone service they use is absolutely terrible making takeout harder than it should be to order. Starting from 5pm and lasting anywhere until 7 or 8 pm it is outright impossible to reach them via their phone number. Calling at any time between the times posted only ends in an endless loop of "Sorry, the number you have called is busy. Please try again later...". It does not matter how many times you redial you are just constantly met with this message. You can call for 10 minutes straight and still not be any closer to getting your take out ordered. As much as I'd like to blame this on this time being the dinner rush their phone lines ALWAYS do this. It does not matter if it's a weekday, weekend, etc. this is constantly an issue. I made many attempts to inform the staff about this matter but of course my comments only fall on deaf ears. It's almost like they purposefully shut off their phones during this window which is sad because I genuinely like the staff and the food is really good but being unable to reach them in a reasonable fashion has left me with no options but to take my money elsewhere and that's a damn shame in my opinion. I would have really loved to give them my business tonight but with their phone lines being absolutely garbage and my stomach rumbling I'm just going to have to take my business elsewhere again. No wings are worth wasting 15 minutes of my life trying to order them, even if they are admittedly some of the best in the area. read more

You absolutely cannot go wrong with The Cafe.. They have the best Club sandwich I have ever eaten, and their stuffed mushrooms are delicious. There is not one bad item on the menu, and the food is always consistent. I've never had a bad meal there. Wings, boneless wings, oven fired pizza, the salads, I could go on and on. My wife and I struggle to find decent restaurants in the Charleston area. There's Fazio's, but I don't want to spend a small fortune every time we want to go out, so we save Fazio's for special occasions. We go to River's Edge Cafe when we want to get out of the house and actually relearn what it's like to be around people, again. The food is not great. It's fun food. Greasy, fun, food. The portions are sizable. We've ordered less and less each time we go and we still end up taking some home. We tend to stick to sandwiches, burgers, and appetizers. Some days the burgers and sandwiches are fantastic. Other days, not so much. Either way, they're still much better than fast food. The atmosphere is loud. My ears are my living, so I tend to pay attention to noise levels in different places. River's Edge Cafe sits at around 90 decibels for the entire duration of our visit, each visit. That's loud. The employees will possible get longterm hearing damage. But, we the customer aren't exposed long enough to be harmed. It's just loud. That's what I'm trying to say, that it's just loud and can be a bit unpleasant. Like most things, you tend to not notice if you have enjoyable company. Since I primarily go with my wife, that means the company is hit and miss. Also, this place is basically a pub that you can bring your children and feel comfortable, unless it gets too late in the evening. I wouldn't bring my children. My brother in law does, but his children are already pretty heavily corrupted, so no harm no foul, I guess. Prices are fair. They are right at where I would expect them to be, which makes me happy. I really dislike going to a place, having things be average, and then getting a massive bill. That doesn't happen here. At least not to me. Some of the things I said make this place not sound so great, but it's definitely worth stopping in. The servers are nice and friendly (most of them) and the atmosphere is mostly comfortable, minus the volume level, which is mostly due to acoustics. If you get a corner seat near the window, it's much more pleasant on the ears. read more

This was a huge mistake. The service was some of the worst I've ever had. I don't know if this was just a bad day for them, or what... The other reviews are mostly positive. When we first sat down at two something, there was about 10 to 12 people in the restaurant. That quickly went down to four tables and about 7 to 8 people. Took forever to get served, the waitress got the order backwards, and the last drink we ordered we couldn't taste any alcohol. This was almost a two hour lunch people! G.D.!?! In fairness the food we got was pretty good, just could not tolerate the lack of service. More of a bar than restaurant atmosphere though. Kinda dark & a little loud. Horrible experience... I was there the other day and an older guy came in and one of the employees told him he couldn't come in there anymore! The guy seemed genuinely surprised by this. I have seem this guy in there a few other times and he always sat quietly by himself eating or having a drink. The employee was really rude to him and went to put his hands on him to push him out the door, but the guy said don't put your hands on me! Really disappointed in this place. Good place to have lunch or catch a game, but not the best night ifs scene. At certain point in the night they turn the music very loud and it is almost impossible to have a beer and a conversation with anyone at the bar or a table. It really doesn't make much sense to turn the music so loudly, as they do of have a dance floor. I am downgrading my review to 0 stars. The cook (boss's son) clearly does not understand the client employee relationship. Blaring his radio. Competing with whatever is going on in restaurant. Refuses to turn it down when asked. Banana pepper stems in the sandwich. Chicken in a non chicken salad. Where that come from? Seriously buddy. Turn down the radio and pay attention. Wing sauce has become inconsistent. And general upkeep is suffering. We still love our waitstaff! Especially Chris. But we will be seeing less of them for sure. read more

This is a sports bar. It isn't super upscale. The tables are perpetually sticky and the paper towels on each table look and feel like they've been soaked and allowed to dry. Having said that, the food isn't bad - they have a solid but limited menu of hot and satisfying sandwiches, and the homemade chips, if they aren't burned or underdone, are fantastic. Overall, a solid restaurant. Nothing to write home about, but worth a shot. read more
