So first of all don't let the parking lot or general area fool you. The staff is extremely friendly and the place is immaculate. The coleslaw and cabbage are fantastic. Unfortunately they were out of collard greens. We ordered fried chicken livers for an appetizer and my wife got the rosemary rubbed rib sandwich and I ordered the brisket dinner and it was perfect The ribs are a sandwich but it's a slab of ribs on bread. Came here HUNGRY after spending 4 hours on the road. We had tried to eat at another spot nearby but forgot about the holiday; perhaps it was a blessing in disguise because Phat Daddy's was Delicious! The area nearby and the restaurant itself is a lil rundown, but don't let that scare you. The staff were incredibly friendly and it felt like we were having dinner at a family cookout. Food came out in less than 5 minutes, which was great for our hungry stomachs. I went with the pulled pork sandwich (made from pork butt!!) and oh my lord it was so tender!! It just pulled apart so easily and was nice and sweet with that sauce. Fries had a nice Cajun seasoning and had the right amount of crispiness. I'm sad that we were only passing through cuz I'd love to come back and try some more of their food! This place is definitely worth checking out, and if you're local I'm so jealous! read more

Stopped in the location today grab some lunch for the office . Brisket With two side , and a pulled pork sandwich with fries. So the Brisket - is sliced really thin . This melts in your mouth , was vey good . The cabbage was FIRE and greens were good . Portion size of the brisket was an issue for me . I did steal a couple fries from the other platter . Wow!! The food, prices and service were great! We were greeted in the parking lot by a gentleman who saw we had our dogs with us. He was amazing. He told us we could go in the other side of the building and bring our dogs. It was outdoor seating and was perfect for our dogs and little girl to expend some energy which was much needed as we were on a 12 hour trip home. The ribs, Phat Dog (hot dog w/ chili cheese), even the kids pizza and all the sides were great. Based on the hospitality alone I would go back but combined with the great food we will keep this on our list to stop back whenever passing through. Thank you for a great experience. read more

I found this hidden little gem while passing through Charleston, WV. Hardly bigger than a food truck and tucked away off the beaten path next to some railroad tracks, I wasn't sure what to think. I looked at the menu and saw "Rosemary Ribs". I love rosemary and hadn't heard of it cooked into ribs, I was stunned! Oh dear lord, those fall off the bone ribs were incredible! Paired with delicious onion rings and amazing baked beans, I was sucker punched. I haven't had that fantastic of a meal in a long time. Four hours from my home in North Carolina, I would seriously consider the drive just to have lunch here again. If you're ever passing through Charleston, WV, make sure you follow your GPS to Phat Daddy's on the Tracks. It's not far off of the interstates and more than well worth the detour!!! read more

This is a great restaurant! We had the brisket and it was full of great smoky flavor. And the slaw was delicious. The restaurant is very clean and staff was kind and helpful. We also had our dog with us and they have a great fenced-in outdoor seating area where she could run around a bit. I can't comment on the quality of the food as I've never been able to eat here. Stopped by once at the old location and they were closing up (earlier than what was advertised). Tried another time and they weren't open. Tried again Friday night, website says open until 9. Called to confirm girl said yes they are open until 9. Placed an online order at 8:20 for 2 dinners (over $40), received a confirmation text, then a minute later got a text saying my order was cancelled (after the money was charged to me). I called and the lady answered and said nothing but "We are closed". I told her the situation and that I had called and she said who told you that and named someone, I have no idea who told me that. She said they are open until 9 but stop taking orders at 8. This should have been specified on their website. Not sure I will attempt again. I love trying new places and supporting small businesses but this doesn't seem to be in the cards, and I'm still waiting on my refund as well (says will take 3 days) :( read more
