We had the sweetest waiter, our food was so delicious, and the place was very clean. I got the jammin' burger and my fiance got the Big Dill burger. I was thoroughly impressed with it. Very, very disappointed. It took almost 45 minutes to get our food. (Restaurant was not that busy.) We ordered 2 waters. Both tasted 'weird'. As I was giving mine back to exchange it for something else, I noticed what looked like a small bug in the bottom of mine. My grandson ordered a cheese pizza off the kid's menu. There was only cheese on about 1/3 of it. My husband ordered a cup of chili. Did not realize we were paying $5 for about 1/2 of an actual cup, with a sprinkle of cheese and no crackers. I went here a few weeks ago after not having been in a few years. I had always remembered it being kinda decent so me and a group of friends decided to try it. The wings we ordered weren't terrible and the server seemed nice. However it all went down hill after that. We were asked to move from the back room to a different because they had "forgotten" that a party of 40 was coming and had to have the back room. While I was annoyed I understood that things happen and was alright with this. Once I got my food I realized why there were so many 1 star reviews. I ordered the French dip with Mac and cheese. The French dip didn't have the dip at all and the Mac and cheese looked like someone had eaten several bites of it. It was too the point I didn't even eat the Mac and cheese because I was so disgusted. The food tastes good for greasy fast food. Thr fries are very salty, but good. The menu has quite a few options. I opted for the cheese steak sandwich. It was ok. A bit dry. It may have been better with mayo or catsup on it. The sandwich and fries was a bit too much for one person. The price was a bit too much, too. The service was ok - a bit slow. There was no one at the host counter, and no sign, so after a few minutes I wandered around until I found someone working. Bottom line - I may have done better at the truck stop across the street. Party of 8 One person ordered a burger & fries. Had a hair in the burger. Another person ordered a Caesar salad with chicken. Chicken was under cooked. Spoke with the manager. Took it off the check. Server was unpleasant did not know the menu or the drinks. Had worked there a month and a half & said they do not serve hard cider. I went to the bar and ordered an Angry Orchard Cider. OTR trucker here; I'm lucky enough to be able to visit many different places all over the 48. I have been here twice, and both times it's been the same: clean, comfortable surroundings; excellent service; good food, and friendly locals. I came in solo tonight. Only one seat open at the bar. The bartender was busy busy but acknowledged me right away, "Be right with you. Need a menu?" Drinks never went dry as the barmaid needlessly apologized for the 'wait' for my food. I enjoyed an above-average burger, a few beers and friendly, casual conversation with the folks around me. This is how it should be done. I guess they changed menu and whole reason we used to come was for the pig skins with bbq pork on them and was told they were removed from the menu along with buffalo chicken dip and a lot of other stuff. I am not a fan of Fat Patty's. Not the 1 in my area of Teays Valley but also the 1 in Huntington. Just bad experiences each time I "give it another try". Their food is greasy and not good. Many occassions our waitress has not been very nice - almost every wait staff looks and acts like they absolutely hate their job and it shows. First time here. Food and service was fantastic. We got there for the happy hour that went on from 4-7pm. There was a list of appetizers on their menu that were half off. We got the mushrooms, onion rings, and the jalapeño poppers with the raspberry sauce. I was skeptical about it but wow they were by far my favorite appetizer. I've never had poppers w raspberry sauce before after being used to it being served w ranch dressing. We also got wings with gold sauce which was also surprisingly good. The sauce was vinegary with a hint of sweetness. I just can't describe both the gold sauce and raspberry sauce. These sauces seem unique to Fat Patty's. Either way it's so good. We also got the bbq pork pizza which was wow so good. Overall this place exceeded my expectations in a big way. I would definitely come back here. read more

Food took an hour and a half to get to us, also we all needed refills on drinks due to waiting a hour already, and no refills. So we asked our waiter for a refill, and instead we got switched to a new waitress "due to her not feeling good" but then continued serving other tables. Which I find crazy due to the fact all we did was ask if we can have refills, I would not recommend at all. Also messed up our food after a hour and a half of waiting. Our party of four waited to be seated for almost an hour. There were empty tables everywhere including an entire empty room but the manager refused to allow the host to seat people. There were about 15 people waiting to be seated for a very long time. We ended leaving because of the disrespect toward our time. Disappointing at best. This place was pretty darn good when it opened and the first few years, the lot was always full and it was always standing room only. So, when we arrived today at 2:45 P.M. on a Sunday and the lot was nearly empty, we should have ran. To start, you get no silverware when seated, this doesn't make spreading out your burger toppings easy. Starters, the fried pickles were okay, but not piping hot. The Jalapeno poppers were tasty but they were just warm. I'm aware that everything is pre-packaged, but it should be freshly fried and HOT. Nothing was hot today. I ordered the raspberry popper burger, the burger was warm at best, the bun did not appear toasted, and it it was, it was only for a few seconds because there was no color or grill marks on it. Fat Patty's used to have the BEST sweet potato fries in town, today, they were nasty. There was so much sugar on these that I couldn't finish them, and they too, were just warm, and they were soggy and limp. The real kicker, they served my fries on top of a dill pickle wedge. I did get two pickles though, there was one without fries on the other side of the basket. Pickle was the best part of the meal. Fiancé got a double burger, it too was also warm. He ordered loaded fries, they were not cooked long enough to have the least bit of crispiness, they were bad enough that he ate about four bites of them. The waitress was plenty nice enough, but something is up with policy. When my fiancé requested his second refill, the waitress took his cup from the table, straw and all, to refill at the soda machine. This is a hygiene issue. Update 2018: Went for a work lunch and was disgusted by the stickiness of the chairs and table. Had a sticky film on my pants for the rest of the day and felt the need to wash my hands repeatedly afterwards. I ordered a grilled chicken option for the burger and the breast was less than half the size of the bun. Very displeased and I will likely never be back. Original-2016 (three stars): Be prepared for a very noisy environment and frozen burgers. If you can get past that, the place isn't too bad. Unique burger selection and the apps are tasty. Service is always good but certainly not one of my favorite places to go. When it's crowded, you can barely carry on a conversation at your table. This place started out okay but has gone way down hill over the years. They have removed almost all the good dishes from the menu and now serve some bar food items and hamburgers. Fourteen different hamburgers! How many different ways can beef be replicated on one menu? Fourteen! It is very unwelcoming atmosphere and the service is terrible. We sat for about ten minutes waiting on a server to acknowledge. Finally another server came over and said that our server would be with us soon and that she is "backed up." Crazy thing is the restaurant wasn't that busy. When she finally did come to our table she started with telling us that it would be at least a 20-25 minute "ticket" wait. She emphasized maybe longer. At that point we left and went to Whiskey Taco which was packed. Yet, we got seated, served chips and drinks, and got our dinners ordered and served before I could finish writing this review. Disclaimer: I do not work here, but have family who do. Fat Patty's is now under new ownership, and the owner is treating the employees extremely disrespectful. Most of these employees have worked through COVID and have kept the place going. They are now treated like dirt, and have been lied to numerous times concerning pay, vacations, discounts, etc. The new owner has discontinued discounts for first responders, fire fighters, and veterans. He no longer honors gift cards that customers spent their own money on to buy as gifts. He is running into the ground what was once one of the best local restaurants around.
