    Greek Wrap
    Kayla D.

River Stop Cafe is always a neighborhood favorite. Stopped in for a late lunch and selected the tuna on wheat and Greek wrap. Their tuna sandwiches are my personal favorite thing on the menu. They have options to cater to all needs - vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free, etc.

Service was great Food was filled with flavor The place was great we loved every part of the dinning experience

Would have given 0 stars. Food was horrible. Service was okay. Server was really nice. Ordered Yardbird Chicken sandwich and was given turkey on it. Nasty turkey. Oh and the chips are the super cheap tortilla chips. Why not have some kettle chips or ruffle chips at a sandwich shop? Cmon.

What a nice stop on the way down from up north. We stopped in for their delicious breakfast sandwiches. I had the Rick's breakfast croissant and my dining companion had the breakfast burrito. Both sandwiches were very delicious and came out hot and ready to eat. I also had a cappuccino $3.50 not too bad price and we split the cinnamon roll. Our friendly waitress warmed it up. The cafe is very eclectic with the exposed brick and friendly feel.

I absolutely love this place. My friend and I worked in the area for a few weeks, and this was the place to be for coffee and lunches. From the service to the food and even the drinks. All top notch.

The restaurant was ALL decked out for Halloween! From the time you pull into the parking lot to when you enter. Marie welcomed us kindly, gave us menus, and we found our own seats. There is seating both inside and outside. We chose a booth outside and enjoyed the scenery with all the flowers are in bloom. The tables and chairs do not match and there are vases with flowers on the table. I ordered the Thai Tea and could not be happier. When Marie brought it out she waited to stir it together so I could watch the magic. It had a pumpkin taste with a cinnamon flare is the best way to describe it. I also ordered the special "onion soup" and a blueberry lemon muffin. My husband had the club. Very strange that bacon was not on the menu. I asked and was told having bacon is a hit or miss if available. They offer sausage and/or ham products so having a club without bacon was definitely different. For a rustic roadside restaurant with neighborhood flare it was nice. The tea was the most memorable outside of the establishment itself.

Met up with a friend for brunch at Morning Star recently. It was my first time visiting and I was…read moreexcited since breakfast/brunch is my favorite meal to order out! There was a bit of a wait but they have a little area to sit and browse the menu. The place is cozy and homey, a bit crowded but not too bad. Our server was really helpful and kind. I ordered a coffee, and they have alcoholic options if you'd like a bloody mary, spiked coffee, mimosa, etc. I liked that they brought me my own little carafe for the table. We ordered a blueberry pancake for the table, and I got the tree hugger (zucchini, yellow squash, tomato, mushroom, baby spinach, black beans, and cheese, served over diced redskin potatoes. I also added eggs. The pancake was fluffy and sweet, and very large which was great for us to split. I really wanted some vegetables so I was very happy with the tree hugger. It was cheesy and warm, and all the veggies were delicious. I added some hot sauce which made it perfect! My friend got the breakfast burrito which looked really good. I'm glad I got to try this spot and would come back! They do have a lunch menu during the week as well (it said lunch items are limited on weekends).

This is a local favorite. But if you're not local, let me give you a review…read more I have mixed feelings about this place. First off let me point out that there is no private parking lot for this place. This is no big deal if you're from a bigger city like GR, Chi or NYC. But if you're from a smaller town like Muskegon, Coopersville or Fremont where every business has their own private lot this might be a major inconvenience to you. park across the street or on the street if you can find a spot. I was patronizing MSC on a very cold day. This old location has no air lock on the front door, so everytime it opens to let customers exit or enter....the cold air rushes in. Keep that in mind when choosing your table. The restaurant has a warehouse feel to it, similar to the Blue Porch on Beacon Blvd. If you like that style....great. If not you have to deal with acoustics, and a cold drafty feeling, especially in the Winter. Food was actually in line with other restaurants in town unless you want to start getting fancy with the "specials." Believe me, those specials are very popular. Especially the waffle/pancake dishes that are similar to a super sweet dessert at 2000 calories. The last time I was there, the server was friendly, but because of the layout of the dining room, they have a hard time keeping an eye on the tables. So getting a coffee refill or a request for something becomes a waiting game. Overall the food is presented very well and is tasty.

This review is solely on my experience and not the integrity of the bagel itself. I was fascinated when a colleague recommended this place in Rockford for breakfast and I had no idea what to expect when I pulled up to an old home. When I walked in, I was greeted with delicious coffee aromas being ground while people were buying pounds of fresh ground beans. I was confused about the ordering process, but friendly customers explained the procedure. First, you get in line and pick your drink and order a customizable bagel. I picked a sandwich because I was hungry, so I opted for a full on sandwich. I chose an onion bagel with house-made smoked and sliced roast beef, egg, pepper Jack cheese, horseradish sauce, onion, tomato, and lettuce. Yum! The bagels are homemade and on the smaller side so I was able to scarf down the whole sandwich whilst enjoying a large NOLA coffee brew. All of this came to under $10. A great value and interesting experience. After, ordering you can find a seat and they come find you to come back to the counter to pay. You only pay when your food is ready. Then its cafe seat yourself territory. They also have random items for sale and interesting curiosities hidden in the nooks and crannies of this space. Certainly worth a visit based on vibes and price point alone. the food did not disappoint. Smoked meats for the win!
