My five stars is mostly for the excellent services from the ladies here. They were so kind (after my son dumped his hot chocolate everywhere). They made a fresh cup for him without me even asking. I also loved that they had gluten free wraps. Their chicken salad sandwich was excellent & the wraps didn't fall apart and honestly didn't taste much different. Their chili was also gluten friendly. If you have celiac disease, I may not recommend because of cross contamination. Nothing is labeled as gluten free on the menu but the bread and wraps can be used for any menu sandwich/wrap. Latte was just okay, cold foam was excellent but taste of coffee wasn't perfection like I'd hope (coffee snob) Either way, 5 stars. Great ownership and service, good food and okay coffee. I needed some lunch and I found Koffee Kuppe on Yelp so I went for it. There were two ladies working and unfortunately I don't think they had the personalities to be the face of the business. They did not greet me when I walked up, they barely spoke and gave a more standoffish vibe. I got my sandwich and it just looked weak. It was very thin, not packed full of ingredients. The ciabatta bread was ok. I was less than thrilled of the sandwich and the hospitality. The space is old and unique and felt homey. I would go back for ice cream or coffee. I don't like rating small town places less than 5 stars but I was dissatisfied. I wish them the best! read more

Koffee Kuppe seems to get better and better every year. I visit Koffee Kuppe every year when I come home to visit and the service is getting more friendly and accommodating and the vibe just seems to be getting better. I'm not a huge fan of their coffee options, but the space has a great 'small time charm' as someone else said, yummy food options and great seating choices. They have a pretty large seating area with two areas, one a typical cafe area with tables as well as booths and the back seating area has high top tables and is surrounded by gifts/goods for sale. I love that the booth tables are glass-top tables filled with Fremont themed stuff. I especially love the Gerber table. They also have free WiFi and plenty of outlets to plug in computers. I admit that I always make it a point to check out businesses bathrooms because it is always a great sign of cleanliness and it's fun to see how restaurants/bars decorate the bathrooms. I love the bathroom here, they have a lovely mosaic artwork next to the toilet and bright colored walls. Some of my favorite food options that I've tried are the Veggie Wrap and the Smoothies. I was also happy when I ordered a breakfast bagel with cream cheese and egg and it was served with a giant portion of scrambled eggs, it was probably 3 eggs. I love a big breakfast so that satisfied me. I'll continue to come back every year. read more

Cute place with a huge variety of coffee. I would recommend for breakfast or lunch. I got the chicken salad and a cup of Wisconsin cheese soup. My favorite part was the delicious orange bread that they served with the salad. I liked the chicken salad but riverstop cafe in Newaygo has better chicken salad. My mother ordered the turkey wrap and enjoyed it. Hot dogs were nothing special and my son couldn't get past the comparison to riverstop on his chicken salad sandwich. Overall, the vote was not to come here for dinner but stick with breakfast. I will return to try the breakfast. . read more

Maybe I am being too hard on this place, but I'm taking away a star because of the coffee. They do not have good coffee there. It's not bad, just not good. Sorry, maybe I'm a snob. But a place with a business name starting with Koffee aught to have great coffee. I applaud them for supporting Michigan coffee, but coffee here in Michigan is not that good. We're good at beer, that's for sure, but not coffee. They should get some good beans, like the ones used by Starbucks or Petes. Other than that, the food is from good to very good. I used to go into this facility, as I craved. Doubleshot Capacino. I walked in one morning, after being out of the area, waited to order and after watching two girls super busy making sandwhiches, not even asking me what I wanted, I left. Years ago, the owner and his wife stayed at my motel on the beach in Traverse City, so when in town, I'd visit theirs. Not sure who owns it..and people come for sandwhiches now..I did not try the food. So no judgement on food here, it just may be good. It just seemed, when someone is standing behind you for sometime, someone would say, "Can we help you?".. Hope they do well! Now days, business needs the business. Lackadaisical service, tasty egg sandwiches, and slightly-scary smoothies. Both the breakfast burrito (with sausage) and the egg-and-cheese croissant ("Veggie Style", with tomatoes and bell peppers) suited us well for a pre-hike fortification. Fremont's one of the more entertaining towns near the southern end of the Manistee National Forest --- lots of Gerber stuff, including a 5-foot-tall baby head mural inside the Koffee Kuppe. The "strawberry-banana smoothie" reminded me more of a 50s-vintage shake --- I didn't see any actual fruit going in, and the banana flavor reminded me of Laffy Taffy more than Chiquita. The back of the store has the usual Cherry Republic and joke-sign tourist gear. Free wi-fi makes up for the fairly sparse cell coverage. Definitely worth it for the food, I'll try the ice cream next time, but budget some time and maybe skip the smoothie. read more

Can't say I've ever had anything from here I didn't like. On lighter days I opt for the turkey wrap and a latte, on hungry days, the pot roast dip is incredible! Service was great, however the food is of arguably horrible quality. They offer $5 dollar breakfast sandwiches with either bacon bits or crumbled up sausage bits which is then conveniently tossed into a microwave. When I asked if they had any real meat to put on a breakfast sandwich, they apologized and let me know they could replace it with ham, which turned out to be good. If they are going to charge 5 bucks for a sandwich, get some real meat to put on the sandwich. The americano I got was delicious. read more

Just got my iced mocha coffee. Girl doesn't know how to make coffee or the coffee being provided by the business is awful. I love trying new coffee shops and this was my first visit, and unfortunately, I won't be going back for food or drinks. My coffee was "to go" and was given to me in a coco-cola cup and coffee syrup wasn't mixed well because it all settled towards the bottom of the cup. I slurped the syrup (not knowing that it was at the bottom of my drink) and spit it out so quick. As a suggestion to the owner, take coffee off your menu; stick with sandwiches and ice cream to be safe. read more

If you are ever driving through Fremont this is a must stop. Coffee is better than good, but food is even better. My go to in the early mornings is the breakfast burrito. It is more than enough to get you through the day. You can't go wrong here! A big and nice menu selection from specialty coffee's, to smoothies to even a kiddies menu my kids love! Visited Fremont with some girlfriends over the weekends and since most places seemed to be closed (???) we stumbled upon the Koffee Kuppe and stopped in for lunch. They offer a decent lunch special which we all had half wrap and cup of soup! My friends ordered the Veggie wrap with Tomato Florentine soup and I had the Roast turkey wrap with Wisconsin cheese soup. Everything we had was very filling and tasty. Although I'm not sure what they mean by 1/2 wrap because we all got what seemed to be a full wrap which was a decent size to us. I've also heard that the owner is a nightmare to work for, hence why they've been hiring for what seems like forever. The atmosphere is a rich mixture of wonderfully eclectic curios and reminiscence of a charming history of a town, of which the cafe lives in the heart. The owner, the manager, and the other people who work there are absolutely wonderful. Even if their coffee was not as good as it is, I would still go there because of the people and ambiance. It's the kind of place where one could go in having a bad day, and come out having good one.
