Excellent Breakfast for Michigan travelers. Easy on and off highway. We really enjoyed the hot tasty bacon, eggs, spuds. Great coffee too.

My wife and I go to Steak 'N Egger often and we are never dissapointed. They always have great service and get our food out in a timely manner. We tend to get seated at a smaller table which can be a bummer but to be honest that's pretty typical when it's just the two of us. read more

My medium steak was cooked right on point which did surprise me This is definitely one of those places, you passing by on the road and don't think of it much, but ended up with a great experience. 4 star was for the cleanliness. I understand they probably had a super busy morning, but still... with foods, empty jam containers, oily things allover the floor and some on seats, just not ok. This is our new favorite diner in the area. I think it's funny that the outdoor sign says "breakfast anytime" when they close on the weekends at 2pm, so I guess that means "breakfast anytime before 2pm." I've been here twice now and the servers already remembered us. I really enjoyed the cinnamon roll pancakes but also approved of my husband's biscuits and gravy. The space is very clean, the menu options are vast, and the food comes out quickly. The restaurant is kid friendly and I appreciate that they support other local businesses through their grocery sourcing. They are also environmentally friendly through their use of sustainable straws. Great place for all your breakfast needs. read more

Manager refused to get on the phone when told I wanted a discount for my next meal that I purchas from them. was told that I could come back in and pick up the sauces and that's it. Came to the area for the amusement park, and felt like we needed a solid breakfast before going to the park. This place came up with great reviews on Yelp. First impression, really compliant with safety procedures- sign up sheets, sanitizers, barriers between booths. Friendly and efficient service by our server. Food was good, typical American breakfast but done well. Good bacon, eggs, homemade breads, sausage and country fried steak. The only thing that was not as great was the hash brown, it really tasted like grease, but still not bad. Really cool place, we will be back when we are in the area. read more

Cute diner, super duper friendly servers, and the perfect breakfast! I am always torn between getting an omelette or a sweet breakfast dish. I always end up getting omelettes because they hold you over longer, but I just wish I could get the best of both worlds... well imagine my delight to see they offer french toast, pancake and waffle breakfasts, which include 2 eggs your way and either bacon or sausage! I went for the cinnamon swirl french toast and it was perfect! 3 medium sized pieces of bread came with the order. The bacon was perfectly crispy and fantastic, and the eggs I got were scrambled and also good (8.79). I was able to eat the whole thing. My guy ate all of his too and loved it. Steak N' Egger has always been a childhood favorite of mine. It's one of the best places in town to get breakfast (They offer a great lunch selection as well). We just recently stopped in for breakfast while camping nearby, and after all these years, they're still serving up amazing food. When we got there, it was busy, so we expected to wait a while, which is reasonable considering we were a party of six. They had us a table within 15-20 minutes. All of the staff that greeted us were friendly, and the place has a very warm and inviting vibe. Ordering was quick, and we had our food within another 20 minutes or so. I ordered the 3 egg Meat Lover's omelette. The cheese kept things together inside perfectly, and made for an easy bite. It was a big omelette as well, and complimented with an order of hashbrowns/American fries and toast, there's no worry of not feeling full. Finally, for a party of 6, we left paying under $80, which is rare these days. Whenever we are in the North Muskegon area looking for a great breakfast, this will always be our go-to! We know we won't be leaving disappointed! read more

Wish I could choose 4.5 stars but Yelp doesn't allow it. The service was awesome. Server with dark hair was super friendly...kept checking on us and asking if I wanted a coffee warm up. Place was clean and cute. Hash browns were amazing with onions and scrambled eggs were good. Only minor disappointment was the bacon...I asked for it to be crispy and it was unfortunately still kind of chewy. We were looking forward to good crispy diner bacon. read more

Excellent! We were camping in the area and loved it so much we came back a second time! We had everything from pancakes to the stuffed hash browns and then a club and everything was GREAT! I came here while in town visiting friends and was really excited to try this place. The ambiance and service were great but the food just fell short. The omelette was very greasy and the potatoes were mushy and a la carte which was odd since most omelettes come with hash browns. Service is friendly and resturant was very clean. I had Perch basket and fries. It was okay. I think maybe Perch just was not my favorite. My daughter had the French toast and bacon. I've eaten breakfast in restaurants all over the country. I've had better (Refuel Cafe' in New Orleans) and I've had worse (the Muskegon Denny's...not ALL Denny's restaurants). I've had some WONDERFUL items at Steak & Egger and I've had some pretty average items from Steak & Egger. Never have I had anything from there which has been poorly made so, in my humble opinion, all of these factors classify them as better than average. The first time I ate there I had the HOMEMADE corned beef hash. Now, I certainly don't consider myself a corned beef hash efficienado (sp)...when cooked thoroughly, I even like the canned stuff...but I know quality ingredients. The corned beef hash at Steak & Egger is made of lean corned beef, potatoes and, perhaps, some seasoning - Nice and simple, as it should be. I was hooked! Today I had strawberry crepes which, I believe, was a 'special' and not something on the regular menu. At first, I was surprised by the lack of strawberries on top, as they appeared to be used more as a garnish. Then I found they had strawberries inside too. Still not an over-abundance but, after tasting the DELICIOUS, real cream cheese filling I was more than satisfied with the quantity of stawberries. Another thing I was greatly pleased with was the real whipped cream on top because one of my pet peaves is when restaurants use fake whipped 'cream', which ruins an otherwise quality dish. In addition to typical breakfast fare, Steak & Egger offers non-breakfast meals. I have yet to try anything other than breakfast items but, given that the place has been around for years and is almost always busy (with locals and tourists alike), I feel it's safe to assume that most everything is good. On top of quality food, other factors which contribute to Steak & Egger being considered above average in my book are the portion sizes (rarely can either my husband or I finish everything), the prices (one can easily get a complete meal, including drink, for less than $10...with food to spare) and, EXTREMELY important, the service (we have yet to find an unfriendly or inefficient server, even when the place is filled to capacity). So, all in all, I would DEFINITELY recommend Steak & Egger to family and friends! read more

Mmmm mmmmm good! The past couple of weekends I've been planning dates with people here just so I can enjoy their food! I have always enjoyed this place and when I moved closer to them, I just can't stop! They recently renovated and it looks amazing! It's the perfect feel for breakfast and dining. The service is great and even though the wait seems long in the morning, it's really not too bad.
