A cozy local breakfast spot with generous portions and a welcoming atmosphere! We were seated quickly, and the service was warm and efficient--our food came out fast. We ordered two kids' meals, a scramble (swapping potatoes for hash browns), a traditional breakfast plate with added pancakes, and a cinnamon roll. The roll itself was tasty, but we weren't fans of the butter topping--I'd skip that next time and stick with the pancakes, which were excellent! The menu is simple but offers a nice variety for everyone. The only downside was the coffee, which was very watered down. Next time, I'd go with juice or water instead. Prices were very reasonable--our bill for two adult meals adding pancakes and hasbrown side, two kids' meals with drinks, two coffees, a large cinnamon roll, and tip came to $60, which is comparable to most breakfast spots. Parking is convenient, with spaces available in front of the café and along the street. Overall, this was a great find, and we'll definitely be back to try their lunch menu! read more

We came up to Silver Lake for the weekend, staying in Mears and looked up breakfast places near me. Deb's popped up with 5 stars and earned every one of them. Both of our meals meals were cooked perfectly and delicious The greeting was pleasant and the service even friendlier. This is our go-to breakfast spot when we're on vacation. It's always clean and the service is great. The food has been better in the past though--the omelette came with a slice of cheese on top instead of melted in the middle like usual. Coffee was average, but the rye toast was fantastic! The food is spectacular and obviously all homemade. I had chicken strips, which were delicious along with the housemade French fries. My husband had the stuffed hashbrowns, so unique and tasty! This place is excellent. All food is homemade. The day I visited the special was Beef Goulash with garlic bread for $5.95. They gave me a sample and it was great, but I went with the freshly roasted open face turkey sandwich. The turkey was tender and covered in delicious turkey gravy that wasn't salty. The mashed potatoes are homemade and they leave some lumps in them. My friend had the club sandwich. It is huge. It is filled with fresh roasted turkey, bacon, romaine lettuce, tomato, and mayo. It is on thick white bread. The staff are friendly and efficient. There are tables and booths. You pay at the front counter on your way out. There is free parking in front of the restaurant along the street. I wish I lived by this place because the home cooked food is AMAZING. read more

Went because had great reviews but boy were we disappointed. It took us 30 minutes to get breakfast food and that was after waiting 15 minutes until the waitress came around to address us. We even took the opportunity and order right away since we didn't want to wait another 15 min to get coffee and water. When we finally got the food, it was just not great... uncooked egg whites (even when we ordered medium). Toast was barely toasted, hash browns undercooked. How do you screw up breakfast????? Heading home from our stay at Silver Lake sand dunes I came across this restaurant because it was close to the expressway and it had great reviews online. From the second we walked in the door we knew we picked the right place! We were promptly greeted and they had a decent amount of seating in there. We had a party of six and they were able to seat us right away. We very soon after had our beverages and after pondering the great options on the menu we had ordered our food. We ordered a couple of the breakfast sandwiches, side of pancake, biscuits and gravy, Irish skillet and the kids had pancakes with a side of sausage patties. When our food came they brought the kids' first and they were so excited to see the Mickey shaped ones on top with the chocolate chip eyes and nose. Such a cool surprise! All of us adults then got our food and we're shocked at how large the portion sizes were. Everything tasted amazing! We would definitely visit this place again and HIGHLY recommend it to others! When in Shelby or anywhere around Oceana County, I recommend you make a stop at Deb's. This is small town home made food at it's finest. The options and portions are just right and the lake perch is delicious. Days later, and I'm still thinking about their fried shoe string onion rings. They even make their own thousand island dressing. I'd been sad when they left their location next to the beautiful Hart Lake, but this place is much better for their business as they are open most of the year. This place had amazing burgers. The meat was really lean and well seasoned. Their onion Tanglers (appetizer) were the best onion rings I've ever had. My son loved his French toast. My daughter didn't so much care for her grilled cheese sandwich. It has a friendly mom and pop atmosphere. None of the entrees were over 10.00 which we appreciated.
