Brew Works is just okay. The inside of the restaurant is nice and seems to be clean. The decor is nice as well. The service is just okay. When we were there, it seemed like our server didn't want to be there. People gave off days, so we just chalked it up to that. We had two apps that came out pretty quickly and were hot and pretty good. I had the chicken and fries. The fries were really good and had a delicious seasoning on them. The chicken looked to be breaded there in the kitchen and not frozen chicken tenders that most places serve. The chicken was good, but I probably wouldn't order it again. We stopped here on our way home and we were driving past. Brew Works did its job of feeding my family, but it wasn't a wow factor. I thought I heard this was under new ownership or management recently, so I stopped by to check it out. This place has all the possibilities to be a great place, but fails. The dining room has plenty seating and decor is nice. But it is really understaffed to serve diners in the restaurant, attached bowling alley, and hold private events. The menu is very sad, two pieces of very used white paper copied on a printer. Not opposed to paper menus, but step it up and show pride in your menu items by having fresh,clean menus on heavier stock. They mention an option with soup,but aren't serving any currently. With paper menus, it should be easy to have the summer menu accurate. I have removed my previously posted photos of their out of date menu and replaced them with the pathetic looking white paper ones...at least you'll have an idea what they offer and prices. I ordered the buttermilk chicken tender bites, with choice of fries or side salad, as they make them in house. $14. Large portion, the chicken tender bites are large chicken nuggets, all white breast, that were moist and really good. They're the reason of bumping up my review to 3 stars. Apparently the owner/management is not into social media. The website posted on YELP never got to the website. As some establishments prefer Facebook, I checked there...just photos, no reviews. Hey, management team, beef up your skills and awareness of the positive impact social media can have on connecting with regular customers and attracting new one. Brew Works is best place to eat in Newaygo County. The atmosphere has always been good, but in recent years the service and food has become top notch. Food and service are the best around. My family and I go there regularly. Everything on the menu is good but some of our favorites are the chicken tenders, quesadilla and any of their steaks. They also have an off-menu burger nicknamed the "Tig Burger" that's the best burger I've ever had (it is a bit spicey). If your considering trying this restaurant, I highly recommend giving it a try. read more

I don't know how I've not yet written a review for Brew Works as I come here every time I visit my family in Fremont which is multiple times a year. Brew Works has become a Fremont staple because they have great food, a good menu selection, a clean and inviting restaurant setting and drinks. And it's a plus that they're connected to a bowling alley. Brew Works has everything from salads to sandwiches to burgers to quesadillas. Tonight I had a shrimp quesadilla which had the most delicious grilled bell peppers in it. I also tasted my family's pizza and was very pleased with it-sweet sauce, flavorful cheese. Was hoping for spinach artichoke dip but upon 10 minutes after ordering we were informed the oven was on the fritz. We went with the fried pickles instead, and those were great! Highlight of the meal were the pickles. For dinner was a french dip and curly fries and my date went with the steak and portabella quesadilla. The french dip was flavorful but left me wanting a little more, the quesadilla was a miss, neither of us enjoyed it. Ensure if it was the steak marinade or the sauce on top but it was not very appealing to us. Hope the oven gets back to working soon as the baked jalapenos and spinach artichoke dip seemed to be the go-to appetizer, as well as flatbread/pizzas being off the table. One of the best places to eat in Fremont. Our sever was awesome, had great knowledge of the menu and let yes know if anything was out right away. Off the patio they have yard games. The hot hot cauliflower was a highlight! So good and not too spicy. I had the steak and mushroom quesadilla. It was huge, I took half home. The flat bread of mushroom and chicken was another great dish which was also large. The salmon was overdone even after asking for it to be medium rare, which was too bad. The kids chicken tenders are awesome! Huge pieces of white meat, my kids devoured them. They also have great brews on tap. A personal fav is the brown. We stopped here on the way out of town on a Thursday afternoon. The place was very clean and welcoming. Service was fast and prompt. Looks like the building is a combination of businesses. There is a par three golf course, bowling alley and bar/restaurant. All are in separate areas so it's not like you are eating in the bowling alley. It was raining when we got there but it looked like they had a fun outdoor area with chairs and yard games. I had a great summer salad that I'm still craving. It had cherries and candies pecans. My husband had one of their flat reads and really enjoyed that all well. I had their drink of the day (mudslide) and it wasn't that great but drinkable. Stopped in with the family for a beer and found an awesome small business with great brews and an expansive menu! The space is huge, warm, and inviting - tons of seating and a large patio for those nice summer days. We got nachos and a few beers each. I tried a vanilla porter and coffee stout. Low-key brewery, but the servers were nice and we felt comfortable eating indoors with the well-spaced tables. While the staff were wearing masks, they only wore them over their mouths, so that was definitely frustrating. Might return eventually but not during Covid-19, since it's awkward to ask staff to adjust their masks and I worry what other protocols might be being skipped or overlooked. read more

The best part of this place was the decor....its really unique for a brewpub type place. The food was decent. Our group had a burger, two different pasta dishes and a flatbread.....the group thought the chicken parm was the best of the entrees. We split a fried buffalo cauliflower appetizer that was awesome! Texture on cauliflower had the perfect crunch, and the hot sauce combined with blue cheese crumbles was amazing. The one beer we tried was good, not incredible. Wow this was a welcomed relief from a long days drive. Excellent excellent food. I'm so full and could not eat it all. Jessie was my server and she was wonderful very knowledgeable of there menu and there craft beers. Josslyn was funny and very friendly and Monica was the bomb. Someone came to the door and said they were closed because they were slow. The 8-10 people inside, sitting at tables didn't make the brewery look slow. We went here about a month ago and at first, thought they were closed because there were only 2 cars in the lot. However, they were open and we found it be a very nice place inside but again, only 4 other people in the place at noon. Concerned us more than a little bit. We both ordered a chicken quesadilla and when they came, they were huge and delicious. Uhh, back to the "when they came" comment. It took well over 30 minutes and there was no one else's order in ahead of us, and the waitress NEVER returned to refresh our drinks, or apologize for the slow service. All this said, we decided to give the place another try today, which is a Sunday. We arrived about 12:20pm and again, very few cars in the lot. I think there were about 8-10 people inside and we decided to sit at the bar. A waitress came by us and began visiting with a co-worker who seemed to be having trouble with the POS machine. After about 2-3 minutes, I cleared my throat and the waitress finally came over and asked us if we wanted a beer list, but we ordered Diet Coke. She then asked he if we wanted menus, seriously. What did she think we there for, just to drink diet Cokes. Now for the weird part. Since the menus had nothing but breakfast items available, I asked the waitress for a lunch menu and she told us they don't serve lunch on Sunday until 1:00pm. I found this to be beyond bizarre. The place is south of Fremont and the only reason we went back there was the best place to eat in Fremont, The Blind Squirrel was packed......serving lunch of course. So the question I ask is: If you need to encourage people to go a little out of the way, and you are already having difficulty doing exactly that, why on earth would you not be serving lunch at noon on Sunday? The IPA I tried was not good. And by not good, I mean the beer was actually a bad batch that should have been poured down the drain. Tasted like band aid. I tried to tell the staff, but was dismissed with "you're probably not used to that kind of beer". This was not my first rodeo. On different occasions, I've tried the other kinds beer, which ranged from "meh" to ok. Then there's the food, which is just typical 'Murican bar food that you can get at any bar. Went here for a drink and some food. Both of our food orders were absolutely delicious. The drinks were good too. We had the cider. The biggest highlight besides the food was the staff. They were happy and enthusiastic but not in an annoying or in your face way. They were just genuinely excited to let us sample all their beers. This was right when we walked in, just instantly the bartender asked us what we liked and got us several samples without us even asking. The staff were attentive from there on out as well.
