Stopped by with 4 friends around 4 PM on a Saturday. Almost completely empty. We were told to seat ourselves and they'd bring menus. Waited for 15 minutes with only one other table in the entire place, no menus, ended up getting them ourselves from the servers station. Waitress was very nice, but took 20 minutes just to come get our drink orders. She came back and retook the order probably 3 or 4 times even though she wrote them down and put them into the computer. Brought out 3 of 4 drinks, came back 5 minutes later and asked if we needed anything else, umm, the 4th drink? And then finally our food order was taken. Waitstaff were so friendly, but come on, it was empty in there and there were 3 waiters. Food comes out. Most were pretty good but Rueben was 70% sour kraut and the corn beef was low quality. Cute and clean restaurant. Poor service. Low quality food for the price. Hate leave a poor review, but Riverstop did not deliver. read more

Newaygo is fortunate to have this place. While it is a bar it has very good food and service. We've had their wet burritos and burgers and they were both delicious. read more

Food service & ambience was great people were very friendly! Wife had southwest salad son had black & Blew 1/2 pound burger I had 1/2 pound Olive burger deluxe, I'd say it was the best bar burger I've had in a long time!! We will return!! read more

Mexican food is fabulous!!! Never had a bad experience there!! One of my favorite places in Newaygo county!

Help was nice. Margaritas were very sweet and minimal alcohol. If you get drinks, stick to beer. The beef burrito was swimming in grease, they call it gravy, and the meat was very bland and lacking seasoning. Every time a bite was taken, I would receive an accompanying mouthful of grease. I used to order burritos frequently from this place and they rivaled Mexican restaurants, they were that good. Now their burritos are completely distasteful. Will not be back when wanting Mexican and drinks. read more

We have eaten here several times. The food has been great and is reasonably priced. Recently we went here for their breakfast served Friday Saturday and Sunday. It was very good. The inside is really nice with a gorgeous live edge bar. The waitresses have been very friendly and attentive each time. They also offer a gluten free menu. read more

Love their food and service in the past! However, Mother's Day was a huge disappointment for service. Waitress rude, no silverware, no napkins, no condiments, never around, never checked on us, had to ask staff at the bar for all the above and ultimately our bill. When waitress finally arrived with the bill and had to ask what we ordered to drink, no thank you, no I'm sorry or have a nice day. Waitresses like her will ruin the repeat customers. Pretty decent eats on our annual trip up to Newaygo. We decided to forgo the cutesy new fangled places and stopped in for a good ole burger and beer. I'm pretty happy we did. We were going to try the cafe next door, but it was lunch time, and it still seriously smelled like overly sweet coffee so with ducked out and headed over to the Saloon. The service is a tad slow, but we didn't let it bother us too much. We forgot to pack ketchup so our server so graciously gave us a bottle of theirs. They had a decent gluten free section for our GF challenged friends... I'd go back for sure! Glad we stopped. read more

This is a bar and the food is great. The atmosphere is very bar like, so be aware. I had the brioche bun burger and it was delicious, a little overcooked, but juicy. Cole slaw for my side was fresh and crunchy. My wife had the chicken salad on a croissant. She said it was very good. Her side of fries was hot and crispy. The server was attentive and did great. Food came out quickly and the entire meal was very reasonably priced. We did not have any alcohol, just soft drinks. Total for our food, before tip was under $18! read more

Stopped in on a Saturday night 8pm place was pretty packed! Only 2 people trying to serve 10 people at the bar and probably 35 people at tables way under staffed!! And the 2 people working had the worst attitudes of anyone I have ever dealt with! Seriously if you hate your job and life that bad quit!!! Literally asked for the tv re it's to turn it to a college football game to have the remote thrown on the table!!! Probably should either hire more employees or get rid of the ones that hate their job!! read more

Food is good, but the service is not. They will forget about you, you'll go long periods of time without anyone checking on you. I like going, the food is good, but that's what you should expect. Update:. I just lowered my review. Went back and as I experienced in the past, the service was even worse. How you can you a business like that AND have paying customers is beyond me. Never again... We stopped by here bc the brewery was closed. We're glad we did. The decor definitely has the wow factor. Very nice inside. Prices were reasonable. Food was good. We just had starters like empanada and salmon patties. Both very good. Draft beer was great. Would definitely stop by again when in the area. read more

Came for the band, great music. Service was terrible. While it was the beginning of a busy night, we watched our server walk past our table multiple times without asking if we needed refills. My husband went the bar and our server walked past him a few times as well. We have been in busy bars before, but have not had this poor of service even on busy nights. read more

We drove 40 miles to hear a friend play in the band tonight. Never been here before. My son who is 21 did not have his i.d. and never drinks they said he could not be in the bar. So we all left without spending a dime. he was with his parents and girlfriend who had an i.d. sad sad thing. Bar was not full so you' d think they would want some business. Smh. Unfortunately when an elderly lady and myself stopped in for lunch, the place wreaked of burnt popcorn and it was quite nauseating, given that fact they opened the front door to air the place out which only made the lady colder than she was who was waiting for them to make some coffee to warm her up. The food was good but service should take some priority even f the wait staff had only been their for five days. Sorry, not JD. It took quite some time for the burnt popcorn smell to dissipate. read more

Sooo disappointed... overcharged on several items on our bill, charged for items included in menu description, plus a fee to use a credit card, and the real kicker...upcharged to order dessert to go... what??? I have to pay extra to order dessert to take home; no thank you, but the Shamrock shakes on the way home were delicious!! My 10 year old asked if we were charged to be seated or for our straws and ice!!! Shame on you, Cindy; really poor business decisions. You may have made a few extra bucks off of unaware consumers; however, not worth the loyal clientele you just lost!! read more
