Large parking lot with spaces close to the building. We waited to be seated. Were directed to a booth in the bar area. Angela S was out waitress and she greeted us kindly. Took our drink order and was back promptly. I ordered an original margarita, wings for the table and my husband had a Bacardi and coke with the chicken Rockefeller for his entree. The margarita had too much mix so I only had one and the chicken was over cooked in my husband's entree. We loved the wings and he enjoyed the Cesar salad and th side of loaded mashed potatoes. The atmosphere was very casual with sports on the TVs and the restroom was clean. Lovely stop but not memorable. read more

This place was a letdown from start to finish. If you're into bland, subpar food, maybe it hits the spot; but if you expect anything decent for the price they charge, it's a hard no. The quality doesn't match the cost, not even close. I walked out thinking one thing: Yuck. read more

I absolutely love this place. For two simple reasons, nice wait staff, and delicious food. I come here every time I'm in Newaygo. I get the beef tips, they have a an intensely flavored recipe that I find delicious. I got a bad potato, and they immediately brought out mashed potatoes with gravy that were probably too 3 I've ever had. read more

Great meal at a reasonable price. Our server (Angela) was wonderful. I'd heard that the bluegill dinner was exceptional, but due to supplier issues, we weren't able to have it; however, the yellow perch was delicious and plentiful. You won't walk away hungry. read more

Stumbled in to Jimmy's Roadhouse on New Year's Eve - the place was packed, but we were seated immediately. Lots of great options to choose from (steak, salad, sandwiches, Mexican) - you name it they got it! Food was great, we'll definitely add jimmy's into our regular rotation. read more

Fast and friendly service always have a great experience at Jimmy's. Food is always great.

I was camping in Newaygo, and had to break down my campsite in the pouring rain. The car was packed, and I was shivering and hungry. I decided to drive and find a local place to eat. As I was driving through town I saw Jimmy's Roadhouse, and I thought I'd try it. I walked in and noticed a lodge type atmosphere, with old license plates on the wall. I was immediately seated. The bartender immediately came over to my table to greet me. She saw I was cold and wet and recommended that I move over to the bar where it was warmer, and offered me coffee. She was attentive without rushing, and she let me pace my time there. She made me feel comfortable and warm. I started with the French onion soup. French onion soup can either be done well or skimped. This was done well. Cheese was draped over toasted bread on top and everything was seasoned perfectly. It definitely warmed me up. Then I ordered New York Steak with two sides. Mushrooms and baked potato. I asked for medium rare, and got medium rare. The steak was tender and flavorful. In all, I thought the place was fantastic. The only thing that was a disappointment was the lighted sign out front. I didn't notice it going in. It was flashing alt right messages, like how masks don't work with viruses and how we didn't have a president. Very disappointing. It's a shame that a restaurant tries to promote political ideals, and alienate half of their customer base. To be honest, I f I saw the messages before I went in, I doubt I'd feel comfortable going in there, and might have felt unwelcome. I would have chosen another restaurant. read more

I've been to nearly every restaurant in Newaygo, Crotin area and Jimmy's is surprisingly one of our favorites. Good food for a good value, that is why the parking lot is always full. They have the best pizza and Mexican food in the area. They also have an incredible seared tuna with a delicious pickled Asian salad side. It not a five star restaurant that you go to on your anniversary, but it is always good food and a good value. read more

I keep returning to this local favorite in search of an excellent menu item alas, this visit continues the disappointing experience. I asked if their chicken tenders were made in house, no.. How are your hamburgers? Waitstaff said very good. So I ordered the basic build your own. When asked how I wanted it cooked, I responded medium rare. The onion rings were excellent, and worth the $2 upgrade. However. Very disappointing when I cut the 1/3 lb burger it was thin, and medium well. When I mentioned to the waitress she offered to take back and try again...but who wants to wait for another attempt? They redeemed themselves by reducing the $9 burger by $5...but, the burger served wasn't appealing. Pleasant waitstaff. read more

If it was an option to give no stars I would. My food order was not good. There was four in the party and our choices were not good quality. The servers were slow and not helpful. Not at place to relax and enjoy food. read more

Great menu. Friendly service and great prices! We drive in from Grand Rapids and enjoy the comfortable atmosphere along with a wide variety of choices. Everything is fresh and delicious. read more

Food was good... nice sized burgers with plentiful toppings. Fries were also good. Ambiance was typical for a "roadhouse" or any usual bar, which means it was a nice casual place to hang out. But... oh the service... sooooo bad. Rude. Tried to cut us off after one beer. Demanded more tip money. The dinner crowd was starting to trickle in and we had been there for an hour and a half at a bar high-top, so maybe we were pressured to leave. Regarding tipping, Michigan raised the minimum wage for tipped employees. There is no obligation to tip at all. We won't go back. Let the locals have this place. read more

Jimmy's Roadhouse - Front sign showing political commentary - New American Near Me - Newaygo, Michigan

Someone needs to call the health department on these people for the rotten food and incredibly poor attitude and ethics of the general manager of the Newaygo Jimmy's Roadhouse restaurant. The food was disgusting and made all 4 of our group sick. read more

Food was only average, service was decent nice young lady. Old Gray haired giant of a woman was a bitch because she had to accommodate for 6 adults and 2 children her remarks were uncalled for and rude thankfully my son-in-law paid the bills because I was pissed off and was walking out... I highly recommend you just go to Burger King up the street.. better food and service. And yes I'm pissed off Building needs updating and the floors need more bracing as the floor hops badly and the over all ambiance was a complete buzz kill. We will never be back read more

No bartender available and was presented with food that was undercooked, then management came out to tell us our food takes time to cook. Understandable, that's why we're confused about why we were presented with it undercooked if they know how much time each dish takes to prepare for their guests. read more

Negative political atmosphere aside...... I have eaten here a few times and each time I returned I had hoped that the very meh food would end up being an off night. There's much better food down the road in both directions. (Grant & DT Newaygo) read more

REFUSED SERVICE FOR WEARING A MASK!!! Hard to believe or even understand but we stopped by here on our way down to a cabin in North Carolina and the hostess refused to seat us because we were wearing a mask!?! What? read more

Slow service, awful food, the political atmosphere was cringy and honestly disturbing to say the least. Will definitely not go back or recommend. read more

My wife & I took her father for a scenic ride, and while we were in Newaygo, we decided to stop here for lunch. Good decision! She had the Loaded Potato soup and loved it. I haven't had such good pulled pork in years (and that rivals a BBQ place down south). My father-in-law had the Cod dinner, and he raved about it. We will definitely eat there again when in the area. read more

The food was very mediocre and the service slow and rude. Sp many better places to eat in and near Newaygo. The atmosphere is very negative. The place could use a real cleaning. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! Had blue gill and smothers chicken-both were wonderful. Wait staff were so pleasant and attentive...definitely a repeat to try all the other delicious items they offer. Love the ambiance as this is a GREAT AMERICAN JOINT! read more

We live in Tennessee, we saw during the covid times how the Governor of Michigan was using her iron grip to shut business down. I believe Jim went to jail for serving the oublic or violating some illegal rule imposed on a private business. So we came to pay our respects! The food was very good, the atmosphere was great to which our waitress added to the flare of the place. She took our drink order to which I ordered a "Log Cabin"...and when she balked my wife said, he wants a glass of water with a tooth pick in it! I ordered the Wing Dinner! It was very good taste and flavor. Best I've had in a while and I love wings. I'd return. i enjoyed seeing the "Don't Trad on Me" yelliw flags with all the signatures in support. Where we live in Tennessee..that flag is an indicator of exactly what it means...don't mess with them. Nice Job Jimmy's! read more

Love the Ahi tuna as well as many of the appetizers. The burritos here are to die for make sure you bring your appetite. Good food and a great friendly atmosphere read more

Jimmy's good is mediocre at best. Waiters are fine. Political atmosphere exuded from the roadside sign is uncomfortable. Will not ever go back. read more

Food was marginal at best, service was good, but the politics were overwhelmingly biased and disturbing. I get that the pandemic caused drastic measures to be taken and that many businesses got a raw deal, but to promote "The Big Lie", as well as other conspiracy theories, on their signs and on their walls is too much. Their political extremism is enough to keep me from returning, and the food isn't good enough to make me regret my decision. read more

Excellent food and drinks and service. Very friendly fast servers. Very good environment

Went to Jimmy's for my birthday. It was a good time, good food surprisingly good price on the steak.

The food was alright. The atmosphere was ok but a little dirty. The cups smelled like they were stacked wet and had a very weird musty smell. read more

I got takeout from there last night. Not a single employee was wearing a mask. I got the beef tips. They were grey and really unappetizing looking. The garlic bread tasted like chemicals. My loaded mashed potatoes were spicy, which was not indicated on the menu. I could only eat half. My Caesar salad was inedible because it was so limp from the dressing. read more

Was in town and gave it a try. Pleasantly surprised, waitress was excellent, I had the baked sub that was good size, warm, and plenty of meats inside with cheese. the wife iked the onion rings. a good place for "pub food". we will go back for sure. read more

Taco salad is nasty. Tomatoes, green pepper, and cheese was all rancid...Old and not kept to temperature. Also there was such an absence of any taco meat- I thought it was a veggie version. Disappointed read more

This is a very unassuming place. From the outside there's really not much to say hey you need to stop here and eat. Heck even when 1st entering it's bland. Once through the opening it gets much better. Lots of room with bright wood all around and plenty of light. There was 3 of us eating. 1 ordered the Reuben, another ordered the Chimmichangas, I know thats spelled wrong - sorry. I ordered the monthly special, Meatloaf. I was told the Reuben was very good and the chips that came with it were excellent. The Chimmis was said to be very good however the rice with it was horrible. Lastly my meatloaf was very good. Better than most I've had at restaurants. I wish the portion size had been a bit bigger though. My side of mashed potatoes was also very good but the corn was ehhh. Service was good. Overall I try to rate things based on where I am for a non city restaurant it was a solid 4 stars. If I include bigger cities than 3 1/2 stars. It is worth a visit if your in the area. If I am in the area then yes I would go again. read more
