I get the beef tips, they have a an intensely flavored recipe that I find delicious. Large parking lot with spaces close to the building. We waited to be seated. Were directed to a booth in the bar area. Angela S was out waitress and she greeted us kindly. Took our drink order and was back promptly. I ordered an original margarita, wings for the table and my husband had a Bacardi and coke with the chicken Rockefeller for his entree. The margarita had too much mix so I only had one and the chicken was over cooked in my husband's entree. We loved the wings and he enjoyed the Cesar salad and th side of loaded mashed potatoes. I've been to nearly every restaurant in Newaygo, Crotin area and Jimmy's is surprisingly one of our favorites. Good food for a good value, that is why the parking lot is always full. They have the best pizza and Mexican food in the area. They also have an incredible seared tuna with a delicious pickled Asian salad side. It not a five star restaurant that you go to on your anniversary, but it is always good food and a good value. read more

I was camping in Newaygo, and had to break down my campsite in the pouring rain. The car was packed, and I was shivering and hungry. I decided to drive and find a local place to eat. As I was driving through town I saw Jimmy's Roadhouse, and I thought I'd try it. I walked in and noticed a lodge type atmosphere, with old license plates on the wall. I was immediately seated. The bartender immediately came over to my table to greet me. She saw I was cold and wet and recommended that I move over to the bar where it was warmer, and offered me coffee. She was attentive without rushing, and she let me pace my time there. She made me feel comfortable and warm. I started with the French onion soup. French onion soup can either be done well or skimped. This was done well. Cheese was draped over toasted bread on top and everything was seasoned perfectly. It definitely warmed me up. Then I ordered New York Steak with two sides. Mushrooms and baked potato. I asked for medium rare, and got medium rare. The steak was tender and flavorful. In all, I thought the place was fantastic. The only thing that was a disappointment was the lighted sign out front. I didn't notice it going in. It was flashing alt right messages, like how masks don't work with viruses and how we didn't have a president. Very disappointing. It's a shame that a restaurant tries to promote political ideals, and alienate half of their customer base. To be honest, I f I saw the messages before I went in, I doubt I'd feel comfortable going in there, and might have felt unwelcome. I would have chosen another restaurant. read more

I keep returning to this local favorite in search of an excellent menu item alas, this visit continues the disappointing experience. I asked if their chicken tenders were made in house, no.. How are your hamburgers? Waitstaff said very good. So I ordered the basic build your own. When asked how I wanted it cooked, I responded medium rare. The onion rings were excellent, and worth the $2 upgrade. However. Very disappointing when I cut the 1/3 lb burger it was thin, and medium well. When I mentioned to the waitress she offered to take back and try again...but who wants to wait for another attempt? Food was good... nice sized burgers with plentiful toppings. Fries were also good. Ambiance was typical for a "roadhouse" or any usual bar, which means it was a nice casual place to hang out. But... oh the service... sooooo bad. Rude. Tried to cut us off after one beer. Demanded more tip money. The dinner crowd was starting to trickle in and we had been there for an hour and a half at a bar high-top, so maybe we were pressured to leave. Regarding tipping, Michigan raised the minimum wage for tipped employees. There is no obligation to tip at all. We won't go back. Let the locals have this place. read more

Old Gray haired giant of a woman was a bitch because she had to accommodate for 6 adults and 2 children her remarks were uncalled for and rude thankfully my son-in-law paid the bills because I was pissed off and was walking out... I highly recommend you just go to Burger King up the street.. better food and service. No bartender available and was presented with food that was undercooked, then management came out to tell us our food takes time to cook. Understandable, that's why we're confused about why we were presented with it undercooked if they know how much time each dish takes to prepare for their guests. read more

My wife & I took her father for a scenic ride, and while we were in Newaygo, we decided to stop here for lunch. Good decision! She had the Loaded Potato soup and loved it. I haven't had such good pulled pork in years (and that rivals a BBQ place down south). My father-in-law had the Cod dinner, and he raved about it. We live in Tennessee, we saw during the covid times how the Governor of Michigan was using her iron grip to shut business down. I believe Jim went to jail for serving the oublic or violating some illegal rule imposed on a private business. So we came to pay our respects! The food was very good, the atmosphere was great to which our waitress added to the flare of the place. She took our drink order to which I ordered a "Log Cabin"...and when she balked my wife said, he wants a glass of water with a tooth pick in it! I ordered the Wing Dinner! It was very good taste and flavor. Best I've had in a while and I love wings. I'd return. i enjoyed seeing the "Don't Trad on Me" yelliw flags with all the signatures in support. Food was marginal at best, service was good, but the politics were overwhelmingly biased and disturbing. I get that the pandemic caused drastic measures to be taken and that many businesses got a raw deal, but to promote "The Big Lie", as well as other conspiracy theories, on their signs and on their walls is too much. Their political extremism is enough to keep me from returning, and the food isn't good enough to make me regret my decision. read more

This is a very unassuming place. From the outside there's really not much to say hey you need to stop here and eat. Heck even when 1st entering it's bland. Once through the opening it gets much better. Lots of room with bright wood all around and plenty of light. There was 3 of us eating. 1 ordered the Reuben, another ordered the Chimmichangas, I know thats spelled wrong - sorry. I ordered the monthly special, Meatloaf. I was told the Reuben was very good and the chips that came with it were excellent. The Chimmis was said to be very good however the rice with it was horrible. Lastly my meatloaf was very good. Better than most I've had at restaurants. I wish the portion size had been a bit bigger though. My side of mashed potatoes was also very good but the corn was ehhh. Service was good. Overall I try to rate things based on where I am for a non city restaurant it was a solid 4 stars. If I include bigger cities than 3 1/2 stars. It is worth a visit if your in the area. (Chimichanga, burritos, and fajitas.) the food was good. You got large portions and didn't leave hungry. The food came out quickly and service was good. The atmosphere was cozy and pleasant.
