Friendly and warm atmosphere. Food is always good. Worth going to any time of year but I love sitting on the deck over looking the lake

Hightower maybe off the beaten path but if you are in the area I suggest a visit - at least for an early dinner or lunch. I'm not sure what the crowd would be like in the evening. Hubby and I hit this place for lunch on a Sunday recently and it hit the spot! We both ordered burgers which were obviously made there and cooked fresh! So tasty even without all the extras! The fries were good too and sharing an order was plenty. There are a couple of outdoor seating areas. The deck area over looks the lake but it was closed when we were there. This is also a seating area on the side of the building. Although we didn't sit outside, we had the next best spot right up against the window (see photo). We even saw a bald Eagle fly over the lake. Our waitress was on top of things so overall this was a good visit! We'll go back if we ever visit this area again. read more

We have dined at Hightower several times since we heard about it last fall. Now it's our go to place. Service is,awesome. Dinners, sandwiches, and appetizers are off the chart. Super friendly staff. Its a 25 mile drive but well worth it. Very comfortable and it feels like you're in your own backyard. We love it ! read more

Visited there on Friday July 5th. We were greeted by Lexi. She informed us that she's just the bartender, but she'd be waiting on us. She was FANTASTIC!!! Took time to chat with us and gave us the best service!! Quick, great, and makes you feel at home service. The staff are friendly and attentive, creating a beautiful atmosphere. Delicious, fresh meals, made there. The burgers are a popular choice and are cooked fresh. They have great drinks and non-alcoholic beer. There's a variety of beverages for those who choose not to drink. Lexi and the team at Hightower Saloon deserve kudos for maintaining excellent service even when faced with staff shortages. It's heartwarming to know that they prioritize their customers' experience. Whether you're craving a tasty burger or a refreshing beverage, this cozy bar and grill has something for everyone. They're are doing great things here to improve the place and they are busy on weekends. Couple things could use improvement- 1)Friday fish and fries are not cooked to order and are typically lukewarm vs piping hot at other restaurants because they are obviously cooking a bunch at once instead of to order like it should be done. 2) pizza sometimes has crappy cheese on it. Quality matters in this area so it's better not to buy cheap cheese. Haven't had one in awhile so maybe that's been fixed but won't be ordering the fish anymore. Everyone at our table said it was mediocre because it wasn't hot. Deck area is very nice and overlooks the lake and the restaurant as a whole has a nice vibe.! read more

You can't go wrong with lunch or dinner at Hightower. Everything on the menu is delicious, but to be specific the pizza, burgers and perch basket are the best you're going to get in a 30 mile radius. I've been around Hightower since i was a kid, and it's great to see everything John is doing with the place. Great menu, great space & atmosphere. There's live music and outdoor seating in the warmer months. Their seasonal apps like fried asparagus and sweet corn are amazing. The wait & kitchen staff are friendly local faces. Used to love this place, Now it's the worst wait staff around. Place isn't even that busy and you will have to wait 45 minutes to a hour to get your food and with an attitude! read more

The food here is a value. Awesome portions. The Mexican dishes are especially good. Fish on Fridays also excellent. Lots of locals come in here. It's also a biker bar in season on weekends. read more
