Every time it seems when we travel up north to have a lovely weekend with our in-laws and we decide to get a slice or two it's almost unanimously here. Every pizza we've gotten has been hot and utterly delicious. The staff always seem to answer their phones, everything from speciality pizza, to classic pepperoni is enough to leave my mouth watering and don't even get me started on the cheese bread. This is a local staple and the only place in Shelby serving pizza. They recently expanded and added a coffee bar. They didn't have anyone at the coffee bar so I'm assuming the hours are different? Service is okay. If you want to get your food and eat it there it's best you go to the counter to order. Waiting for a team member to take your order at the table will not get you far. I do feel they should implement a system either order at the counter or be seated. It's confusing for a lot of people. This place is very busy. They have a lot of take out orders as well as dine ins. Parking is limited near the restaurant but you can park in other spaces near by. They offer only table seating. No booths. You can pay with card too! As far as the food. We thought the second pizza was excellent. Lots of cheese and the toppings go under the cheese unless you ask for it differently. They have a ton of options. We did encounter a few issues: they could not find our order, but they did have a ton of orders that day. When they did, the pizza was burnt. I let the staff know and she said "there's nothing wrong with it" called another staff member and she said "I don't know what to do it doesn't look burnt". The manager overheard and immediately asked if we wanted it cooked "lighter". I told her if we could just have it like all the others being pulled out. She was super quick to push our order in front of the rest. Overall she was quick to resolve the issue and the pizza was amazing! There's just something about their cheese pull you need it cooked as they normally do not overcooked with a tough cheese layer! Prices are very good! It's hard to find a good pizza with lots of toppings and at the sizes they offer under $20! I am still giving this a 4 because their pizza is great and the manager really stepped up quickly! read more

Pizza was consistent, taste was awesome, and the presentation was astounding. The joint clearly struggled with managing the number of customers, and the appearance of the establishment was dated. I have been patronizing for years, but I have yet been able to dine in with out-of-town family or friends due to the archaic decor, staff mentality, and the insufferable comments I would face. While Pizza Factory is far from fancy, you would be hard pressed to find better pizza. The dining room is rather sparse, but functional. Large tables, as well as smaller ones. Lots of houseplants, and neon signs in the windows. Plates are styrofoam, with plastic cutlery. The pizza is what is important here. Toppings to the edge, well made, delicious is every way. Our waitress was so sweet and friendly too! We are glad that we stopped in. And also glad we had leftovers to take home. read more

I've been a die hard PF fan my whole life. I've had many pizza establishments food but nothing can dethroning this amazing Pizza. The closest Pizza I've had that came to dethroning them is NYC Pizza that was in Time Square. Still The Pizza Factory prevails as the winner. Toppings are under the cheese, sauce is absolutely delicious, crust is crunchy and soft at the same time. The whole entire staff greets you with a smile, they are friendly and will make sure that your experience is the best. Recently they expanded and added a Coffee Bar so you can enjoy Coffee(Starbucks style) and some desserts like Cinnamon Rolls and Coffee Cake. They have a party room in the back that can be rented out for occasions or if you want to play pool and kick back some drinks from the Bar. This place deserves much more attention and I would put money down that this establishment is a contender for MILES to any Pizza joint. 10/10 read more

I ve had the food, its ok, I had a vending machine there, supporting veterans in need and their families, received a message saying it had been jammed for months, and please pick up. The machine was serviced on schedule in June, and no contact was made prior to request for pick up. Owner was rude "isnt that your job?"- GOD FORBID SOMEONE HAVE A HEALTH CRISIS! Unless contact is made regarding the machine, I have no way of knowing, in between service times. If a message could have been sent at the time, I would have fixed the problem immediately, but I wasnt given that opportunity, and was treated like a lesser human, with no regard for "life happens". If a business is going to allege to be a community foundation, then regard for people OF THE COMMUNITY would be nice. We cant control how life goes sometimes, we are all struggling. I found this gem after restaurants in the silver lake area were too long of a wait (45 minutes). The pizza was HUGE. I would definitely go with one size smaller than you would normally order and will definitely have leftovers. All 6 in my party thought the food was delicious. Excellent pizza in rural Michigan for an affordable price. You can feed a large family or group without breaking the bank. The pies are neither too thick nor too thin. The toppings are generous. Cheese is layered thick atop veggies, meat, or whatever other toppings you like. The cheese is melted just enough with a nice flavor profile to compliment the crust. I haven't sampled any of their sides, but these pizzas steal the show. I really, really like the cheese is rye very top layer which seals in the juices and flavors of everything else. The pizza factory is good pizza. Is the only pizza restaurant in Shelby, and one will have to drive about 6 miles north of south for other options. The food is good and their specialty pizzas are too. They sell good sized wings and pizza-subs. I definitely don't think it's a 5 star pizza restaurant, and a recent experience made me not even consider giving it 3 stars. I was very disappointed with their loyalty to their schedule. It says they're open until a certain time when they're not (and I'll use my personal experience for this). they're supposed to be open until 10 pm on Thursdays but they don't tell you what time they stop taking orders before they close. I called at 9:38 pm and they answered the phone. When I was ordering, they told me they weren't taking anymore orders. I let the guy know it was "barely 9:40". I asked to speak to a manager and she told me they turned the ovens off. Again this is just one example of many others. I think they should arrange their schedule accordingly to what time they actually stop taking orders. It's a good place to eat pizza. But don't go by their "open until" times. Cause you really won't know if you'll be able to order while it's supposed to be "open". read more

The reason i'm rating it so low is because the girls who answered my call and gave me my pizza were incredibly rude. when i called they kept telling me that i wasn't gonna have a chance or time to pick up my order because they close at 9 and i called at 8:20. i repeatedly asked if i could still make an order and they seemed like they didn't want me to order. feeling awkward at the situation i didn't order my complete order because after everything they would tell me not ask me if "that's it". We are not from the area but rented a house nearby on the lake. It's not a flashy or hip place at all so be forewarned if that's what you're looking for. Take it down a star if that's important to you. But it's damn good pizza, and reasonably priced too! That's what my rating reflects. Everyone there was really friendly and accommodating. We got there pretty late and their dining room was closed but they offered to open it up for our party of 7. We didn't need them to do that as we said we would just do take out. They do serve beer so they let us order some beers while we sat and waited for our order to come up. I would recommend this place. read more

YUM. Our family visits New Era annually, and our tradition is to order pizza on our first night there. We usually go to the local place here, but it was understaffed on the night we arrived, which meant the kitchen was closed. We found The Pizza Factory on Yelp and mostly decided to try it because it got decent reviews and was close by. What a GREAT surprise. This new place appears to be way cleaner than the old place. The pizza is good...not awesome, but well worth a try. I love the Hawaiian Barbecue chicken Pizza, the plain ole Pepperoni and cheese(I always ask for pepperoni on top...otherwise it is underneath the cheese...yuck!) and the paradise pizza is great too. When I was in middle school, my dad used to go golfing up in the area and he would always stop here after golfing and bring home one of their extra large pizzas. i just remember how big these pizzas were, and it could feed my family our entire family of eight! I am 52 now, and have moved back into the area so I thought I would stop by and frequent them again. This is a nice mom and pop family pizza restaurant, and I ordered the same pizza dad used to bring home. It's a good pie, and their prices are incredibly low. I enjoyed my pizza and would have no problem going back and getting another. My crust was not too thick or too thin, but it was a little bit doughy. It could have been cooked a little longer. I only had three toppings, but they could have put a little more of those toppings on my pie. Regardless, I have no other complaints and again, I would not hesitate to get another pizza from this establishment. Plus, there is a bar next too that has reasonable beer prices! read more

Whenever we are in the area, we get pizza from The Pizza Factory. In fact, we were on a week vacation and we ate there once and picked up pizza another night. We always say that it's in the top 5 pizza we've had anywhere in the US. Even the new folks we had with us said the same thing.
