Amazing subs! Great service! This is a classic pizza spot in Manistee! You really can't leave Manistee without trying this place! They have a huge team prepping food, taking orders and serving. The restaurant is always super warm inside so be warned! But there is lots of seating booth style, table style and a couple of picnic tables outside. They also have a bench for you outside if your waiting for an order. Parking is snug but not difficult as it's onsite. They are very busy, always! They always have great specials that vary on the day - you can find them up on the whiteboard before you order. This is a an order and pay first place, then you sit! They call out your name and bring you your order. You can purchase fountain drinks or bottled drinks! The subs are packed full of toppings and are delicious! Breadsticks are pretty big too! We always get the cheese sauce! Our favorite things are the Chicago style pizzas, Stromboli (an absolute must), and the subs. Although the pizza is great we feel it's way to greasy for us and can't really eat more than a bite or two of it. Overall this is a great local spot, with a ton of great food options that is always busy! You can really tell they support their community and patrons too by allowing them to advertise their business upon entering! My kids also love playing the arcade games and toy prize machines. Prices are reasonable and similar to other pizza places.

This place is a nice local dive. The service was quick, the staff was professional, and the prices were fair. We dined in, but I have to admit that the location could use a bit of cleaning. The restaurant was petty busy as we arrived at lunchtime, but they were moving at a quick pace. I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza, and it was delicious. The ingredients were fresh, and my pizza was made to order. The portion sizes are quite large, so bring your appetite. I would return to this location for a quick lunch. Everyone else in my crew had the Stromboli, and that seems to be their signature dish, and everyone seemed to be very satisfied with their order. The previous pictures from other reviews are representative of the Stromboli. I had a pizza and it was very good.

Going to see if my boss will let me work remote so I can move up here and eat Big Al's everyday. Have been here for a week and have had: 2 steak subs (both fantastic - get the horseradish sauce), cheesy breadsticks, pizza, and the Giant Stromboli. The bread for the grinders and Stromboli is basically their pizza dough, which is great. And the staff was super friendly.

Big Al's Pizza was recommended to me and my friends as the place that locals crave, so we stopped in on a rainy evening while camping at Orchard Beach State Park for some dinner. Luckily we were able to dine in because it was either that or eating in the car, safe from the rain! My friend told us to get the stromboli so of course we ordered that with some sauce on the side. We also ended up getting cheese bread and a huge pizza with sausage, bacon, and green peppers. Surprise surprise, it was a ton of food. The stromboli was definitely a 10/10 winner, with nicely toasted crust and packed with fillings. The sauce wasn't too sweet and was great for dipping. The cheese bread was covered in a thick layer of melted cheese - so delicious! If you don't like cheese, definitely don't even think about these. Finally, the pizza was good, but man the bottom crust was super soggy. The toppings were ample and deliciously fresh, but maybe a little over topped for the poor thin crust. It just couldn't stand up to the mountain of toppings. We had to eat the pizza with a plastic knife and fork. We would definitely go back to Big Al's for another stromboli! Maybe fewer toppings on the pizza next time.

While it was very American style pizza it wasn't greasy, the service was fast and it wasn't terribly dirty. The environment would be as expected

Stopped here as I was passing through, glad I took the time to go around the detour signs. This place is hopping with business, the Pistel was hot and fresh with great ingredients. Pleasant staff and clean restaurant if you need to dine in. Great flavor and the best thin crust I have had in a long while.

Simply delicious. Consistent quality. Nothing beats their classic pizza sub. Prepared quickly and offers local delivery.

Stromboli with pep, mush (canned, I forgot to ask if they had fresh), green pepper. $16.50 only one size available and up to 3 toppings

The staff were extremely friendly and very attentive. We could tell they were very passionate about their food and drinks which made us eager to try it We started off with drinks. We got Hermes Wing and French Blonde. Both very elevated and balanced cocktails which were beautifully presented. We could drink them all day For appetizer we got the prosciutto wrapped brie. I'm not a prosciutto fan to be honest but my husband was and he encouraged us to try it anyways. I was pleasantly surprised. The prosciutto was cooked to be like a crispy thin piece of bacon. It worked perfectly with the hot honey glaze and to our surprise in house candied nuts. This was an exquisite mix of sweet and savory. For dinner everything on the menu looked really good and we wanted to try it all! We got the sea bass with black rice. I don't know what exactly they put in the sauce but it was by far the best sea bass I've ever had. The pairings with the sauce and rice were intentional and worked extremely well. My husband got the blackened swordfish which was cooked to perfection. This is not a common menu item we see and so we jumped at opportunity to try it. The outside of the fish was crispy but the inside juicy. It paired well with the tzatziki sauce to give a coolness to the blackened fish. We heard the pork ribeye was a must have from other customers so we decided to give that a try as well. The pork was extremely tender and juicy. It was paired with apples which I've never had before with pork but it not only elevated the already delicious pork but also gave a unique flavor and twist Mid dinner we ordered the Figtini and Greek Martini. Again, both did not disappoint. The Figtini was very delicious and you could taste the fig. The Greek Martini was perfect especially for my husband who will get a dirty martini wherever we go Lastly, we got the Tiramisu for dessert. This is absolutely a must have. I love tiramisu and this was a creative and delicious twist on the classic. It had a mix of fresh berries drizzled with caramel sauce. Heaven on a plate Overall 10/10 experience. We will definitely be back. PS I also realized their menu on yelp is not updated. Not sure why but I took pictures from their Facebook page of the updated menu and attached here

This restaurant is definitely on the smaller side but it has such the cutest charm! I ordered the Salmon Piccata with a side of Caesar salad, and pasta with oil, garlic, and butter. The Salmon Piccata was perfectly cooked; however, I wish it had a tad more seasoning (maybe a tad more salt or simply lemon juice) since I truly had to rely on the capers for any acidity. The Caesar salad has to be one of the best I've ever had--it honestly had the punch of lemony boquerones. If you truly love anchovies, I highly recommend ordering it with some extra anchovies! Lastly, the pasta was just as expected, but it was still delicious! Pro tip if you order the salmon piccata: dip the pasta in the lemon and white wine sauce--you'll thank me later!

Upon entering they will take your coats ( if you have them) service was great The ambience is low key, an intimate feeling. Selection of dishes check boxes for classic Italian. I love how you can choose your side pasta and kind of sauce with the entrée. That is a special touch worth going just for that. You are charged for sharing but they offer side and salad with the extra charge. Not unreasonable in my opinion. The bread brought out was delicious. Felt the marinara was a little salty for the eggplant But certainly not inedible. A nearby table had ordered mussels and the smell did carry over to us so a sensitivity to that could be an issue . Dessert The Tiramisu was fabulous. I actually liked the texture as you could taste every component. Usually soggy lady fingers which can taste great but here they kept their structure I felt making it stand out . Wonderful flavors. Parking is one way and could be icy in the lot. Well lit though. Instead of dressing, it came with tubs of sour cream and salsa to mix in. I do that at home sometimes, so can't complain. The lettuce was fresh and crispy. Decent beer selection, including a quite a few bottled ones, which I hadn't noticed until after I ordered my pint of Two Hearted. Be sure to ask for a bottle menu. I sat at the bar and the server regularly looked in on me. Wasn't too noisy, in spite of the tight space that was full when I stopped in on a Sunday night. Nice little spot to check out in Manistee.
