Chocolate milkshake
Rhett B.

A dairy, an ice cream shop, a restaurant, and a farm all wrapped into one place. As I walked up to the ice cream case and debating between several flavors, I was told they don't make milkshakes from hand-dipped ice cream. WHAT??!! I've never known any ice cream place to do that. Instead, they only make milkshakes out of soft serve. Milkshakes out of soft serve I usually avoid because it's like ordering a pizza to only get a Hot Pocket. But since this was at a dairy, I gave it a try. And this milkshake was rich and super chocolatey as it was made out of chocolate soft serve. You can also purchase an endless glass of chocolate milk or it comes with an entree. And the chocolate milk is the cow's moo! My wife wanted to pet the cows and take the tour but it was at a time we were unavailable and a very questionable price. I could not verify if it was $150 per group (surely) or $150 a person. Either way, the ice cream and milk is where it is at and what you don't want to miss out on.

Kids burger and applesauce

Here's the scoop...in season you need to plan ahead for this visit! Long lines, busy parking, full restaurant! This is a popular place among locals and tourists. There is lots to see for kids too! The restaurant serves as a store and ice cream shop too! You can buy cute farm toys, meat, dairy, ice cream and more! If you get here try their food! Great food, decent prices and meals come with bottomless chocolate milk! We ordered burgers, hot dog kids meal and a kids burger. The hot and spicy burger was delicious topped with chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomatoe, crispy jalapeños, ghost pepper cheese and a side of pickles, cheese curds and you can visit the condiment station to add your ketchup, mustard, mayo! The bacon cheeseburger was loaded with bacon! It has a buttery bun and it was nice and toasted. Kids meal came with a decent size burger. Cheese is extra and so is the lettuce, tomato and pickles. The hot dog kids meal was your traditional hotdog! Both meals had options for chips or applesauce and both came with bottomless chocolate milk in cute souvenir cups and a small ice cream! For the burgers- they are all cooked well. You cannot change that. They come with chips, coleslaw, potato salad or applesauce. They assign you a number, you take a seat and display that number. They bring the meal to you. You can refill your chocolate milk on your own. And of course you have to try the ice cream! So creamy and flavorful.

My hubby has been to Country Dairy numerous times so he was anxious for me to visit. There are definitely some very unique things about Country Dairy but based on our food I'm giving this visit 3 stars. You stand in line to place your order then a staff member brings your food to the table. I wasn't especially excited about this. They give you a small cup for all you can drink chocolate milk. I'm not a milk drinker so I told hubby to get me a cup for soda. One sip of hubby's chocolate milk completely changed my mind. It was so creamy and rich in flavor. In fact, I may have over indulged in three cups. For our meals, Hubby and I shared two sandwiches. I ordered a French dip and he ordered a burger. Both came with cheese curds and a pickle. My sandwich didn't have much meat but lots of bun. It had good flavor but overall was a disappointment. Hubby's burger wasn't anything special either. I did enjoy the cheese curds though. For dessert, I stood in another line to order ice cream. I ordered our go to - a turtle sundae. Not only was it small for the price, but it had crushed up pecans! I was expecting nice big tasty pecans. Honestly, this was probably the most disappointing pecan sundae I've ever had. The place is very laid back. Almost like a fast food place since you order, find a table, and then the food is delivered to you. I didn't notice anything spectacular about the ambiance. Although it was nice to see horses outside our window. There is seating inside and out which gives options and you can tour the dairy farm. If you like this type of experience, try County Dairy. For me it's a no go.

This place is just the best. I'm rarely up here, but whenever I am, Country Dairy is a must visit. The pizza, the ice cream, the CHOCOLATE MILK. You can't go wrong at Country Dairy. Come hungry and leave happy. This place brings the giddy child out of me :)

Traveling between Ludington and Muskegon we decided to stop and check out the baked goods. We…read morebought 4 different donuts. All 4 were meh. I had a maple bacon frosted donut. Couldn't taste the maple or the bacon. Hubs had a filled croissant that he said was better than the frosted donut he had. Very sweet and I'm not much of a sweet eater so.... We also bought 2 loaves of bread. The Everything bread we toasted this morning and it was excellent. Great flavor to the bread, a dense bread with good crumb, with a heavy "everything" exterior seasoning that was wonderful! The second loaf is a Jalapeno cheddar. It has a white flour bread base so a lighter density and negligible crumb. The jalapeño and cheddar were barely there. Just on the exterior of the loaf. Still made decent toast.

It's clean, beautiful, and so thoughtfully laid out with conveniently placed bathrooms and food options. It's clear serious thought has been put into activities and infrastructure at this farm. There is SO MUCH for all ages to do! Again, our kids would've stayed to play for several more hours if we had let them. The food options were delicious! Don't miss their lemonade and carne asada tacos! We also loved their home-cooked kettle chips! The coffee was so good my husband went back for a second one before we le What an absolute gem for this area to have! Highly recommend spending a day at this incredible farm while you're in the area!

It's a good thing I did as my group had a several hour wait time. Instead of having to wonder around the ranch for hours, we instead could utilize that time to explore Ludington beach. At the ranch, there was a free petting zoo for the children. The petting zoo was small with donkeys and goats. It was just enough to keep the children busy for several minutes. The petting zoo is more suitable for older children (6-7+) as the animals are not very small and cuddly. During the wagon tour, the staff did their best to accommodate their guests during the COVID-19 pandemic by requiring masks and sectioning off rows on the wagon with clear plastic sheeting. Also, groups needed to stay within their assigned rows. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable in the elk and it was informative for both children and adults. It was incredibly fun to feed the elk cows and bulls. After the wagon tour, we ordered BBQ that's offered on Saturdays. The menu and prices are posted in the gift shop. The Elk burger was seriously fantastic and we did not regret eating here. Also, the baked beans is a must try. It's "cowboy" beans made from scratch and it's fantastic. All in all, this an excellent activity and a must-do when visiting Ludington.

We loved this orchard SO much!…read more I couldn't believe the amount of fun, free entertainment packed into this farm. We ended up spending nearly three hours bopping our way between activities and snacking. We enjoyed cider, a variety of donuts (including apple cider and pumpkin with cream cheese icing), a big ole bag of "seconds" apples that were in great condition, paid for the four wheeler/train ride through the peaches and much more. The kids especially loved the goats, slide, tractor ride through the property and corn "Sand box". Bathrooms and snack stands were plentiful and clean throughout the front portion of the farm. The staff was all very engaged and friendly as well. I loved that this spot didn't feel cheesy or over commercialized like some orchards can become. It was truly perfect. Can't recommend it enough.

While they have someone guiding you most of the time, people visiting are not always the most mindful and don't let you out to give up your spot. There is only one entrance/exit for cars, so I think they need to be a little bit more upfront with the flow of traffic and constantly have someone guiding everyone to ensure that parking isn't backed up. There are pumpkins, tracker rides, a little parade car for kids (and adults can fit too) and a play area for the kids. I think it's the perfect place to grab donuts, cider, pick some apples and grab your pumpkin. Just be warned that some areas may be more hectic than others, but that's what you get with a sunny October weekend!
