This place always has long lines (a good sign)! And service is quick. Ice cream is always delicious. We love coming here after a long day at the lake and sand dunes. It never disappoints and is well worth the wait. read more

Pretty good and has lots of choices. I will say the portions are HUGE so if that's your thing, this place is it! Can get pretty busy during summer time but staff is kind and on top of it. Parking is easily accessible but there's limited places to sit. read more

Whippy Dip is amazing!! We have never tried the food, but have gotten the ice cream countless times. The portions are big. The turtle is phenomenal, but if you want something more simple the chocolate soft serve is good too. The employees are hardworking friendly and we've never had an issue not getting all of our order (and we are a large group). Love the playground and multiple seating options. read more

Great quality and service. Ice cream options are always very good but have not tried any food items. We found it unusual in the evening the staff work inside with no lights on. At first we questioned if the place was actually open. Nonetheless this is a great visit. read more

Great ice cream, decent prices. We went when it wasn't busy so our wait was not long.

Love their ice cream they have a nice place spot and I like how they can have smaller businesses in the back overall I love it and the service is nice read more

Good stop for a variety of ice cream and frozen treats. Love the turtle sundae. Service was quick even though they were busy on Sunday afternoon in September. read more

Huge hamburgers. Okay fries. We drove up ordered and brought back to the RV. Pricey. Didn't get the ice cream. No money left.

I am lactose intolerant, but I suffer through the pain for this place. My god I have never tased ice cream so good in my life. This place is so fracking good I can't contain myself. read more

Basic food that is likely only popular because it's the only thing around. Ice cream is probably the only thing anyone should get from this place. I had the bbq and it was very mediocre. read more

After some dune rides, we stopped in for ice cream. The lines weren't too long and were moving along at a good speed. The portions were large for some of the smaller kids, but everyone seemed happy. There's a playground on-site and plenty of seating. There's also a coffee trailer around the corner at the end of the parking lot. read more

A very unique experience unlike any other. I had a fantastic chocolate peanut butter cup flurry unlike any other. Sweet, not too cold, very creamy and tasty indeed. 9/10 only due to the price. However my good friend did not have quite the outstanding experience. Having ordered the Cookie Dough Flurry Dune Whippie - and after sustaining a very daunting Jeep escapade, nearly vomited each of the 12 oz of dairy dessert. Otherwise a great trip. Overall review 3/5 stars. May or may not return. read more

Ice cream is some of the best I suggest the root beer shake very good my family loves it

Ice'd Latte to compliment a classic car cruise around the lake! The Sippy Joe's coffee shop addition to the Whippy Dip was a great surprise to find at Silver Lake! Has been needed for a while up here! Thanks for the great coffee and service read more

Silver Lake Whippy Dip - Coffee & Classic Cars - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Mears, Michigan

Very good ice cream. Got a cooler and a vanilla cone. Really good, just really small for the price. $9 for 2 small small things. Maybe I'm just used to back home. But based on other reviews, I'd still come back here if in the area and wanted ice cream. read more

Silver Lake Whippy Dip - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Mears, Michigan

Only knock was they had no chocolate ice cream and half their selections are twist or chocolate. You do one thing and half of it relies on something you ran out of on Tuesday at 19:00. Turtle sundae was descent and flurries were liked by the kids but they weren't fans of no chocolate. Cmon man! read more

Always busy- be prepared to wait! Pretty good selection of ice cream. The sundaes seemed to be where it was at. Lots of toppings to choose from. The regular ice cream was just ok in my opinion. Tried a few flavors including cookie dough and birthday cake. It's about what you'd expect- I passed the 3rd time my family went. read more

The Whippy Dip offers plain cones and dipped cones, sundaes, shakes, blizzards, banana splits, slushies, Whippy Coolers and Glaciers. A Whippy Cooler is a blended mix of soft-serve vanilla and flavored slushie. A Glacier is a half-cup of vanilla soft-serve with a half-cup of flavored slushie on top, not blended. They have about 20 slushie flavors. The Whippy Dip also serves every variety of hot ballpark food. Nachos, pizza, hot dogs, etc. They do not have hard-pack ice cream, and the soft-serve is soft-serve, not the more flavorful custard. Customers order from a walk-up window, and there is no indoor seating. The workers are all high school students with the greatest summer job around. I've been coming here all my life, and I plan to keep that up. P.S. Buy a T-shirt when you're there -- they're amazing! read more

Get. The. Turtle. Sundae!! We all thought this place was great! We got turtle sundaes, a malt and a cone. All was fantastic. Great serving sizes and decent price for what you get. read more

I feel like there a lot more better ice cream places in the area. they do have a wide selection though so if that's something you're into I would go here compared to other places. The prices are high compared to others in area and honestly not worth the increase. They did mess up my order when I was there so that was a bit disappointing... read more

Growing up, I have fond memories of the "Krunch Cone" from Dairy Queen. It was basically an ice cream cone with "krunch" topping, which consists of peanut brittle and sprinkles. It was my favorite thing ever and I haven't been able to find it in years. Until I visited the Whippy Dip...... After a day of fun at Mac Woods Dune Rides, we had a hankering for some ice cream and popped over. I was VERY excited to see that they had the krunch option and ordered it right away. The ice cream was creamy and delicious and there were SO MANY options. Others in my party gobbled down different cones and you could really come back here every day for a very long time and not get the same thing twice. The Whippy Dip reminded me of something you would have seen 30 years ago. It has that old school charm and scrumptious ice cream! Definitely check it out if you are in the area. read more

I asked for a turtle flurry- it is the best ever!!! Tons of pecans and somehow salty- it is sooo good!

After waiting in line for over 30 minutes, finally opened a second window. Ice cream was good, but had to wait 20+ minutes for fries and a cheeseburger. The kids working at Whippy Dip were having a great time, but at the expense of customers. This place needs an adult manager badly! read more

Great place for ice cream! Their soft serve is out of this world amazing! I would stay away from the food, as it isn't spectacular. However, you will not be disappointed by any of the desserts. I love the turtle sundae and the flurries. There can be a long line during the summer but it gives you time to look at their huge menu! read more

Excellent soft serve. Good hot fudge and humongous banana splits. Haven't tried their non-dessert food yet but the ice cream has been very good every time we have gone here. We come here every time we are in the Silver Lake area! read more

Oh. My. God. I ordered Don's Dirty Deeds, a blizzard-like concoction of vanilla soft serve, butterfinger bits, peanut butter, and chocolate ice cream topping. I almost died. It was amazing. Utterly amazing. The treats are mixed by a real person and there were swirls of peanut butter that weren't quite mixed in. It was like digging into a gooey, delicious peanut butter heaven. Get the small - it's huge, served in a 20 ounce cup. It's almost too much to eat. Almost. I found myself whispering sweet nothings to the ice cream. It was that good. When I die I am certain I'll be met at the gates with a Don's Dirty Deeds and a big spoon. read more

Stopped here while on vacation to silver lake dunes, MI. Roadside quick bite with a menu similar to dairy queen, although a somewhat larger menu selection of "food items" as opposed to basically ice cream only. My family and I had a variety of ice cream items and they were delicious. Quite a long line at 2pm. Price was about what you would expect. No issues. I'd go back. read more

I've been known to drive 2 1/2 hrs each way just to get ice cream from this place. I'm not crazy they have great ice cream and I grew up as a kid in the area during the summer month. This place is pretty good. Only went for lunch after a dune ride at Mac Woods. You order through a small window and most of the employees look like teenagers. The menu is surprisingly large for both food and ice cream/dessert. Now maybe we were just hungry, but the cheeseburgers and hot dogs were pretty good. It took about 20-25 minutes for our order, but hey, it was very busy and we were in no rush. The cost for 4 cheeseburgers, 1 hot dog, three large fries and three large drinks was about $34. A little pricey, so that's why the four star rating. Otherwise, nice little place. read more

should be called wimpy dip judging by the portions given. I ordered a large chocolate twist on a cone and was given less then smalls I've had elsewhere. the wife ordered some sort of flurry with peanut butter and said that she couldn't taste the things mixed in. Not the best place in town. Malts are ok but ice cream specialty furriers not so good and over priced.

This is the place we come in Silver Lake for ice cream. It has the most parking which is a plus and several areas to sit and eat after getting your food from the window. The menu is probably too big. Flurries seem to be the specialty but we like the shakes and sundaes too. The hot food is probably better than expected, but nothing special. read more
