Unlike the cold and uninviting one we initially stepped into further north on the same side of the street. We found a high top table near the bar and were greeted by an amazing server. His attitude and friendly demeanor MADE this place! I can't say enough about him, even though I can't remember his name. The food was delicious! We had the Hooves and the Club Wrap. They were both very good but the Hooves will be my go to when we return. This things was huge! See the menu photo for the details. The Club Wrap was good as well but had a bit too much mayonnaise. The ladies said it could have used a touch of ranch to give it that extra kick. Did I say go to this place? Go! On a side note, there is a separate family seating area if the bar scene isn't your thing.

Waited for 15 minutes with only one other table in the entire place, no menus, ended up getting them ourselves from the servers station. Waitress was very nice, but took 20 minutes just to come get our drink orders. She came back and retook the order probably 3 or 4 times even though she wrote them down and put them into the computer. Brought out 3 of 4 drinks, came back 5 minutes later and asked if we needed anything else, umm, the 4th drink? And then finally our food order was taken. Waitstaff were so friendly, but come on, it was empty in there and there were 3 waiters. Food comes out. Most were pretty good but Rueben was 70% sour kraut and the corn beef was low quality. Cute and clean restaurant. Poor service. Low quality food for the price. Hate leave a poor review, but Riverstop did not deliver.

The staff was extremely friendly and vibe was perfect, not too loud where you can't hear a conversation but also not super quiet. I wound up ordering a flight of the ciders, because I couldn't decide which one to go with, and they were all delicious. The blueberry cider was probably my favorite if I had to pick just one. I also decided to order the beer cheese and pretzels, which were also very good. If you're in the Newaygo area, definitely stop by for a beer (or cider)!

I ordered a flight of 4 beers and cider; at around $9 for a flight, the price was more than right to enjoy a variety of flavors. My favorite was the passionfruit sour, but all were great! I was surprised to even like the spruce-flavored citrus IPA (after taking a sip of the sample my friend ordered) - which is something I might not have tried myself. Also, I'm not usually a brown ale fan, but I thought the Coconut Brown Ale was delicious (candy-bar-esque in the best way). My fiancé and I split the spicy beer cheese appetizer, which came with soft baked pretzels and was a yummy pairing. I did not know what to expect from this brewery and, after visiting, would absolutely recommend it and return here - noting the variety of drinks, food (much more of a restaurant environment than anticipated!), and seating (bar seats, high top tables, booths, regular tables, even outdoor seating).

Great smoke and lots of flavor. $36 for a full rack of St.Louis ribs and it was huge. Deal! I will absolutely come back for Brisket some Friday. Worth driving to from GR

People are more likely to go here for things like loaded tots, burgers, and burritos. Smothered with cheesy goodness, of course. They have cheap drinks, friendly service, and overall good vibes.

This was one of the best thing's I've eaten in years. They are absolutely delicious. I also ordered their 3 Meat Smoker Bbq combination ($40). I got Ribs, Brisket, and Smoked Wings. Served with baked beans, potato salad, and corn bread. The Ribs werd delicious. Tender and very tasty. The brisket was very good. The wings were good, but small. I got the Bourbon sauce and their Bbq sauce. The Bourbon sauce was excellent and the bbq sauce was tasty, but I definitely preferred the bourbon sauce. The baked beans were excellent. I'm a little bit of a baked bean snob, and these pass my test. The potato salad was okay, but I didn't finish it. The Cornbread was also excellent! The service was were this place failed brilliantly. I walked in and was ignored by the older lady who was having a slow conversation with another customer and didn't even acknowledge me. I decided to use the restroom. When I came out there was a girl on the phone for 5 minutes for someone making a reservation. Again didn't even acknowledge me. Their was the older lady standing back by the bar, looked like either an owner or manager, just having a conversation with another employee the entire time. Just ignoring me. Finally a waitress walked up after waiting way too long and asked If I'd been helped. After being seated it took almost 10 minutes to get served. The place wasn't even 50% full, so there was no excuse. After finally ordering the service was hit or miss. Okay for a little bit then absent again. When I was actually served it was very friendly. I was considering ordering one of their new shakes, but with the absentee service a d her nit even asking if I wanted dessert, I decided against it. Overall the rating is difficult. The food and atmosphere definitely deserve a 5. The service was so bad the rating should be a 3 at best. However considering those Wontons I'll give the place an iffy 4 star review! Would I return? If only for the Wontons than an absolute yes.

The first choice was unavailable, then the second, then the third. After joking with our server that if the fourth beer wasn't available she should just bring us both Cokes, she returned to let us know that one was unavailable as well. To her credit, she did bring the Cokes!! After placing our order, there was a lengthy wait before any food arrived. We were at the restaurant far longer than expected for a meal consisting of soup, salad, and a steak dinner. Unfortunately, much of the food was barely warm, and some items that should have been served hot were cold. My husband ordered the porterhouse steak with French onion soup, waffle fries, and coleslaw. I ordered the fried goat cheese salad and onion petals. The waffle fries and onion petals were cold when served. When our server checked on us, we politely mentioned the issue. The waffle fries and onion petals were remade, but while the fries came back hot, the onion petals were still cold. Beyond that, there was little effort made to address the rest of the meal or improve the experience.
