This bar is a five in its class - great dive bars. Found it on Yelp searching for late night food options near Whitehall. Arrived at 9:30. It was Karaoke night. Some talented and some not so talented regulars took the mic and definitely entertained us. This place has it all going on - great beer options, a limited but worthy menu, friendly wait staff and bartenders, and a good enough cook who can, no doubt, produce good versions of everything on the menu. We loved this place. Other Yelpers I read were enthusiastic about it calling it "a great Michigan dive bar. They weren't wrong. We were so happy with this place we went back the next night. I'm a fan. You will be too. Black and Blue burger was awesome - both nights. My friend had a patty melt on rye he liked - both nights. Karaoke nights are Thursdays abd Fridays. read more

Went there and couldn't get waited on so went up to the bar and waited forever to get waited on ....got one drink for $3 told them we wanted menus and to start a tab and they said they needed a credit card for security purposes. Went back to the table and never were waited on at all . So went back to the bar and paid $3 cash for my previous drink and Told her to be sure nothing went on my credit card and she said it wouldn't. Well I got home and discovered they charged my credit card over $5 for something I already paid for . Terrible place ! read more

Your typical small town dive bar. Live music often and touch tunes is an option when there is no live music. There is free street parking in front of the pub. They do have bathrooms. The women's bathroom has two stalls but they are very small. The prices are fair and the drinks are always good. They do offer food but not too late into the night. They also have a back door that leads to a deck where you can sit at a picnic table. Overall just a classic pub! read more

Typical corner dive bar in a small Michigan town. I was shocked at the 1 star reviews. We came in on a Friday night. Sat down right away and we were served in a timely manner. Our waitress was pleasant and accommodating. Food was average bar food, nothing special but not awful. Mainly burgers, sandwiches and soups. The drinks were strong. They had karaoke going on which was fun to watch. The offer Club Keno and a juke box. Pretty cool little joint. Parking is right out front. It's a nice change from the the trendy breweries in the area. We will definitely stop in again when we're in town. read more

We sat there for 10 min with out as much as a glance. In fact one of the bartenders decided it was better to stock the glasses than help us. We walked out and will never go back. The bartender was delightful while we were paying for drinks...last call was vague if anything then we were approached by many Random people claiming to be associates which told us that they had spoke to us personally to exit. At Jimmy's you will find extremely cheap food and booze, but as an outsider you will not really be welcomed by the local crowd. One woman was nosy enough to come over to us just to hear what we were ordering and asked why we were in Montague; however, the staff was friendly and the food was very good. If I could give "NO STARS" I would. The staff is rude. I've been going to this place for years now and it's never been great. The food is not very good and the service is lousy. Very gloomy and stinky inside. Went to go there yesterday with my daughter who just turned 21 last week and they wouldn't serve us because she hadn't received her new ID yet. We have been to Jimmy's 3 times first 2 times fine just drinks. Bar tender working hard & handling everything himself on a Saturday night did not see any other staff. We went to eat at about 9:30 on a Friday night sat down for twenty minutes it was not very busy nobody ever came and asked us if we needed anything so we left never to go back. Set your expectations accordingly - this is bar food, nothing fancy. However, the grill is open until midnight, making it one of the very few choices for late-night dining. I had a club sandwich and the wife had a BLT, both of which were acceptable alternatives to not eating dinner. InStarted of cool AF! Real chill with a new bartender. Had a few drinks and then it came close to closing time. On Google it said they were open until 2:30... we were forced out of the bar at 2:1o... we had half of a pitcher left and were not warned of closing. At 2:15 we had a larger gentleman start being super aggressive and forcing us out of the bar saying we had to get rid of our pitcher. We offered to go out on the porch so we could get out of their way if they wanted to clean up early. They refused and they took our pitcher and dumped it out... I asked for half of a refund and they refused. They kept getting loud and talking over us for no reason. Said the cops were going to fine them 40,000 dollars for keeping us past closing and they were really worried about getting fined for us not finishing our pitcher. They kept asking us if we were from Michigan, like it had anything to do with it (we are Michiganders) Everywhere I've been in Michigan there has been a cutoff for serving... not a "hey its 2:15 we need to dump out your drink you've already paid for!" read more
