Ordered the "pick 2" half truffle Reuben sandwich and caesar salad. Reuben was fine, probably wouldn't order it again. Was soggy and didn't taste the truffle. The caesar salad was fine. We were on a road trip and decided to give Hank's Tavern a try after hearing good things about their gluten-free options. The vibe was super relaxed and welcoming. We sat on the patio, which was really charming with its covered area and pretty window planters full of flowers. The whole experience was great, and our server, Alex, was super sweet and attentive. I went with the gluten-free 1/2 pound BLT sandwich and a side salad with balsamic vinaigrette, while the Mr. opted for the gluten-free kickin' chicken sandwich with a side salad too. We both had Pepsi to drink. Honestly, that BLT was hands down the best I've had in a restaurant! The gluten-free bun was fluffy, perfectly toasted, and didn't even taste gluten-free. The bacon was crispy, the mayo was just right, and the tomato slice covered the whole sandwich, so every bite was spot on. The salad was fine, but the vinaigrette could have used a bit more kick. Absolutely delicious!! Me and my fiance go hear on special occasions as we live in Grand Rapids. The food is incredible. We always get the Cajun chicken or steak Alfredo. Comes with garlic bread. Hank's Tavern is a nice place for lunch or dinner. The decor is welcoming and the bar has upbeat vibes. I enjoyed the chicken enchiladas. They were packed with chicken. The rice and beans were not great though. The rice didn't really have a taste and the beans weren't rich in flavor. But I definitely think it is reasonably priced as this plate was around $10-$12 dollars which isn't bad! They have a lot of seating outside on their covered, shaded patio. The patio is surrounded by really nice flowers. Our waitress was kind and dependable. Overall a good experience but nothing over the top I would say. read more

I moved from west Michigan to Florida several years ago, but LOVE to get together with my friends over lunch when I visit. We chose Hank's Tavern this time, and it didn't disappoint! Since there were 8 of us, I called beforehand and was told that they don't take reservations, but seating shouldn't be a problem. They were quite busy when we arrived, but we were seated together within 10 minutes! Our waitress was super bubbly and helpful (unfortunately, I forgot her name). I ordered a frozen raspberry margarita ... which was absolutely delicious! For lunch I chose the 1/2 cajun pork dip sandwich and strawberry walnut salad combo. It was so, so, so good! The pork had some "bite" to it, which was perfect. Not too much, not too little. The salad was also delicious, with the dressing on the side, letting me add what I wanted. Hank's has a lovely outdoor patio as well, which is helpful because the restaurant itself is very small and cozy. My wife, myself, our son, his wife and our grandchildren all had an Amazing Breakfast outside on their patio. Which was very nice. I am at a loss on how to describe Hank's Nachos with ground beef. First Nachos are usually stacked up, where these were individually laid out on a rectangle dish. This is a really cute spot and I can see why it gets so popular in the summer, the white wood has a fun nautical theme going on. I ordered the picnic on a plate with The Godfather meatballs and all was pretty good but a little colder than I expected (I don't think they had it sitting out I think it just doesn't come super hot).
