Greek Salad with Chicken

Much better experience! A busy Friday night - seemed well staffed and ready to go. Server was quick and kind. We split a club sandwich and it was SO GOOD. We removed the middle slice of bread, but seriously, this sandwich was absolutely stacked with meat, loaded with flavor. The sweet potato fries and their special sauce were great, too. We both had an extra dirty martini - thumbs up! The usual ambiance - cool rustic middle-of-nowhere bar with a hit-or-miss food menu. :)

The Red Rooser Tavern is a charm to the lakeshore area! The food isn't just "tavern food." It is so delicious and the portions are generous. The rooster balls are homemade with potatoes, cheese and bacon and then deep fried... what's better than that?! I highly recommend trying them if you visit! The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is quaint. There is live music there often as well. Check their Facebook page for more details on their live music schedule! I highly recommend the Red Rooster Tavern, especially after an afternoon at Muskegon Luge!

Great place located by the lake. Good food. Very filling. Price is cheap and portions were average. The club and burgers we had there were delicious. I would recommend this place for lunch right after a day at the beach side or fishing.

Stopped in here for a quick meeting with co-workers. We stopped here because of the reviews on Yelp. I was not let down. This is an awesome little dive bar in middle of the country. It is not on Lake Michigan however. There is a thick line of trees between the bar and the water. The bartender is really nice and the locals at the bar were friendly. We were dressed in suits and did not feel unwelcome at all. Looks like a good menu and would be a fun spot to wind down the night.

This is the kind of place I live to find. Out of the way, local-oriented, good menu and well prepared food. I had perch and fries, partner had sirloin and red-skin mashed. Perch was light and tasty, Good flavor and not fishy. Steak well-seasoned (not over-). Fries were coated and didn't need sauce, mashed were made were real potatoes. Combine that with real-from-scratch margaritas and a meat-rich Asian Roll app, and we're highly satisfied. 11 of 10.

Fun dinner, good food, great service!

I think they are afraid to turn there air on. It smells like BO when you walk in. Slow service and we just came to see the band.

Nice out-of-the-way place for a date night. Food was good, and good service. Great stop if you're headed north toward Duck Lake Channel.

Some talented and some not so talented regulars took the mic and definitely entertained us. This place has it all going on - great beer options, a limited but worthy menu, friendly wait staff and bartenders, and a good enough cook who can, no doubt, produce good versions of everything on the menu. We loved this place. Other Yelpers I read were enthusiastic about it calling it "a great Michigan dive bar. They weren't wrong. We were so happy with this place we went back the next night. I'm a fan. You will be too. Black and Blue burger was awesome - both nights. My friend had a patty melt on rye he liked - both nights. Karaoke nights are Thursdays abd Fridays.

The indoor/ outdoor space blends together in the warmer months with cool hangout spaces and game areas. This place is truly a work of art. Drink lists abound, but because it was lunchtime we stuck to food. We were not disappointed. Everything was well conceived and delicious. I can't wait to come back and try the bone bread next time, stew and scrumptious sounding salads. Today we had the kids smash burger, Brussels burger with frites and fried haddock and frites with a delicious coleslaw. The best part? Different sauces to choose to dip the fries in. The curry ketchup was the best (special shout out for *actually* cooking the curry into the ketchup) as it did not taste of raw curry. They definitely don't cut corners here. We noticed, and we appreciated it. We will be back.

Yes, they have a small parking lot, and don't fret if you have the park on the street like we did, as we were seating promptly and it didn't feel too crowded. Since we were seated at high tops near the bar, the bar tender was our waitress, and she is literally the nicest, good energy, engaging human ever! She also whips up the custom, creative mimosa recipes, kudos to her for her awesomeness! I ordered the Shakshuka, flavorful, delicious, would order again. Even as a non-vegan, it was satisfying and would recommend to everyone. Husband had the 1964 Worlds Fair Waffle, and it was tiny. Not what you envision when you think of Belgian waffles. He also ordered the Belgian Forest Bacon, again VERY small portion, so much so that at the end of the meal, he had to order a side of the Smashed Maple Sausage. Both our drinks (I had the mimosa) were fantastic and worth ordering, loved the glassware! Aside from the small portions of waffle, bacon, and sausage, the cheerful vibes here are contagious, and I'd dine here again in a heartbeat!

I absolutely love this place!…read more The Brewers lounge has such a nice atmosphere with a large inside bar, plenty of seating, and a large patio space. Pro Tip: bring your furry friends to hangout with you on the patio! Kid friendly too! There's ample parking on the side and back of the building. There's also spaces designated for Harvest Host campers! They host a lot of activities such as Run Muskegon, Trivia, and Dart league. The beer menu is always changing so there's always something new to try! The kitchen staff is also excellent. The main menu is wonderful, and their weekly specials are ALWAYS so good. I think my favorite foods have been the panini's and quesadilla. Everything is very customizable for anyone with allergies, dietary restrictions, or just specific tastes! There are also a couple different vodka mixed drinks, a cider or two, non-alcoholic beers, some wines, and sodas for those not into beer! They also open up the Brewhouse sometimes so people can go back and see all of the brewing equipment and canning line. That's where the dart boards are too. 10/10 if you're in Muskegon, it's gotta be on your go-to list!

We are guessing this massive group of people FLOODED this place. Almost every table was dirty. I'm guessing every glass in the restaurant had been used too. The pile of glasses that needed to be washed was giving the former bartender in me anxiety. We sat at the bar and the the chairs were open, but but the bar in front of them was dirty. When we sat down we asked the person behind the bar if we were ok to sit and she didn't not make eye contact but said it was fine. She gave us waters but set the glasses down real hard, maybe she didn't realize how heavy they were? It was basically like slamming them down in front of us. Thankfully, she was not actually waiting on us or we might have changed our minds and left. The woman that DID wait on us was really nice. We didn't get her name unfortunately. She did us she used to work at a dive bar before coming to Hanson Hill. We ordered our food and drinks at the same time when we were finally asked for our order. For cocktails we had a Local Celebrity and Highway 31. Both were delicious! It did take 20+ minutes to get them. Our food arrived shortly after - a French Dip with fries for him and a CBR Wrap with chips for me. He really enjoyed the dip. Next time without the horseradish sauce if either of us was to get it again. I enjoyed the wrap! I liked that they grilled the wrap. Overall, it was fine. I think we would try it again. We are thinking the whole crew was just spent from having their asses handed to them shortly before we got there.
