Is this the best pizza I've ever had? No. Does it get the job done? Yes and then some. A caveat is that because we did by-the-slice at around 2pm, nothing was super fresh. We particularly enjoyed chatting with the owner. He mentioned how he'd started in the Bronx and moved out here for a slower pace of life. Great guy, super engaging if you take the time to initiate the conversation. Shared a bit about his background too. There are a few tables inside, but I'd imagine that during the school year over lunch it gets pretty busy. Will have to try carryout some time.

Back then, we knew it was special. What we didn't realize was just how much we'd miss it after moving away to Western New York. For this visit, we drove more than an hour out of our way specifically to eat here. That's how much this place means to us. We ordered two mushroom slices, a white slice, and a cheese slice, and every bite reminded us why we've been talking about this pizza for more than twenty years. The slices are huge, loaded with fresh ingredients, and somehow manage to hold their shape perfectly. No floppy crust. No toppings sliding off. Just classic New York pizza done exactly right. In fact, Emiliano's is our gold standard pizza pie. Every other pizza we eat gets measured against it. The mushroom slices were generously topped and packed with flavor. The cheese slice was everything a New York slice should be: simple, balanced, and delicious. The white slice was outstanding as well. While we waited, the owner even brought us a complimentary piece of fried dough, which was a thoughtful and very appreciated gesture. What really stands out, though, is the atmosphere. Service was prompt and genuinely friendly. It seemed like everyone who walked through the door knew somebody. There's a strong sense of community here that feels increasingly rare these days. More than twenty years after we first became customers, Emiliano's is still everything we remembered it to be. Affordable, welcoming, and serving what we consider the best pizza around. We'll keep making the trip back. Without question. This is New York-style pizza at its finest.

Fortunately, a friend in the area recommended Emiliano's Pizza. I'm glad I took her advice. Not only do they have a damn good gluten free crust for a personal size pizza, I want to know where they get their pepperoni from! It had a nice zing to it that was spicy without being overbearing. The service was as good as the food, and the ambiance reminded me of an old local Italian restaurant I used to visit before they closed their doors. I just wish they had longer hours on Sunday!

There's been some mixed reviews from Longobardi's lately. In the mid 2000s it was one of my go to…read moreItalian restaurants, but after about 2015, as newer better Italian joints opened (Stephanos), etc. I stopped going. Was here recently for a group outing and while the food was mostly good, it doesn't rise to the level of other local Italian restaurants. Service was slow which is fine, but it seemed they just didn't have enough staff on hand to handle the pre-booked parties. Which was odd. Antipasto was great, and calamari was pretty good. But it is that attention to detail that separates a 3 from a 5 in restaurant land. Bread was meh, and dressing on the salad was weak. And while the calamari was pretty good probably 30 percent of the pieces were pretty soggy. Also the chicken marsala had great sauce but clearly reheated chicken. Now other Italian restauarants locally are guilty of that (recently seen at Stephano's and all the time at Pizza Village) but that alone isn't going to get you a 5 in my book. Reheated chicken has a different taste. Anyway, the review is a 3. Would I come back for a group outing again? Sure. Would I try to dissuade a small group from going here? Yes. Would I go back here on my own? No I would not.
