I came in from the back/carpark entrance. Passing a dinning area on the right I proceeded to the bar on the left, where laughter was coming from as though I knew where I was going. I made myself comfy in a booth opposite the bar. In less than three minutes I was approached by a nice young lady who brought me menus and said my server would be with me shortly. Rebecca my quiet server soon came with their $11. baked clams. A bit tough but okay, crunchy too, I hope it isn't shells I'm tearing into. (No ma'am I don't want your husband.- Pardon me, that was for the biddy staring at me over her guy's head). What with music, patron's enjoyment and tellys going, it's bit noisy for my taste especially for a Sunday evening. But I'll survive. Oh HI! I just got the Kung Pao Calamari, this is great! I kid you not! I was wondering if I'd ever get to use my beloved exclamation points in this review of River Mill and here it is!!!! It's soft, but not squishy, and enough garlic sauce and crushed peanuts to make it just right! Even someone with nut allergies would enjoy this app! Went here again recently and I have to say I was disappointed. The bacon jam appetizer with almonds looks not so appetizing - server told me it was really good. it wasn't. The sesame chicken appetizer was eh... Ordered side of bacon for my daughter crispy - which came burnt - like black. had to send back. and the egg in a bowl my fave- not so great this time ...did you change your layers or recipe at all? Came here for dinner and had the braised rib taco. It was okay. My husband has a salad. The drinks were mediocre. I read the reviews and I guess I came here with higher expectations. I really do want to like this place because I like the decor and it does have the cozy atmosphere. I've came here a few times because I always try to give a business another shot if I caught them on a bad day. I've come here twice during the week for bunch and my only two complaints are it was so cold inside and the service was super slow especially since the place was pretty empty. The food was good both times for lunch. Came for dinner and it was completely different it was nice and warm and the service was so much faster. I enjoy a meal much better if I'm not cold. I had one of their steak specials and my husband had another one of the steak special so we can both try each other's. Both steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. This place is amazing! I always come here for brunch on the weekends because nothing on their brunch menu disappoints. Our waiter, Rebecca, was warm and super attentive from start to finish. She accommodated all of our picky eater requests graciously and always kept an eye on us. I got the egg frittata; the portion was filling and frittata was perfectly cooked. Best word to describe this establishment is Premium! Today I decided to celebrate my Goddaughters baptism at River Mill and Wowsers! They accommodated my group of 12 with no problem. We were greeted with warm and pleasant smiles, attentive service, and bottomless mimosas!!! Lol (Saturday brunch). The Egg in bowl meal is what I can speak of, and boy/girl was I having a western hoedown in my mouth!! succulent meat, robust seasoning, savory gravy, fresh scallions, on a warm flavor soaked (brioche I believe) bun, topped with a perfect over easy egg. While visiting Long Island for the week and looking for something unique we came across the reviews for River Mill. As soon as I saw the building I was transported back to 1973 when it was a neighborhood bar called the Swiss something or other. The menu was very interesting and our server was all about patiently describing the dishes in detail. Everyone else had burgers but I ventured and had the WoHop Steak sandwich open face on garlic bread with mozzarella. Don't miss this!!! We also had wings and baked clams as starters. I'd pass on the clams (way too bready) sorry Chef but everything else was fantastic. read more

I LOVE this place! I am very surprised at the review posted just prior to mine, so I felt compelled to share my experience. I have never, ever had a negative experience here. The staff is amazing; from the wait staff to the bartenders, to the chef. Everyone is delightful and always treat me wonderfully. The food is consistently delicious, and the drinks are always made like a specialty mixologist in high-end bar in Manhattan. The atmosphere is chill and it's good for a date or drinks with friends. walked in. sat at high top at bar. no one acknowledged us. had to go to hostess station to get menus. server came over very nice and knowledgeable. ordered a glass of cab. glass had a fingerprint on it. went to bar asked for a clean glass. he poured the wine from the dirty glass into a clean glass!! hello? did you just contaminate it?? manager came over, owners brother and took it away. same bartender brought a new glass. did not apologize!!!! observing other servers at bar with hands in condiment tray! bartender said they only touch the rinds of lemons and limes!! read more

Stumbled upon this place watching the Verizon Fios food channel and I am so glad I tried this hidden gem. From the moment you walk in there is a very hometowns friendly ambiance that is very inviting ! The staff was very friendly and attentive as soon as we sat down. I came here with my dad and we split the calamari, buffalo chicken flatbread and cheeseburger. They also give you cornbread for the table during brunch hours and it was DELICIOUS. I am a huge cornbread fan and this one melted in your mouth while still having the crumb texture cornbread has. It also came with butter which was a nice touch. For our food we split, everything was truly phenomenal and fresh! The calamari was hot, crispy and came with a more creamy sauce as well as regular marinara which is great because we had many dipping sauce options! The flat bread was so light for being a buffalo chicken flatbread and wasn't overbearing at all. Lastly the cheeseburger tasted fresh as well and the bun was super soft and my favorite part. The portions are great so expect to bring home leftovers! Overall I will definitely be back to try the Mac and cheese, French toast casserole and more! read more

This restaurant is located on the corner of Ocean Ave in Lynbrook in a mostly residential area. The reason it did not get five stars was because the drinks were weak. A lot of cranberry juice not enough vodka. The amazing food and the service were five stars. The portions were huge. Ordered the white clam pizza and the lobster guacamole was excellent. Chunky lobster mixed with ripe avocado. Delish! Clam pizza huge generously topped with clam. Delish ! We both ordered the pork chop dish. Only thing I didn't like on pork chop was the fry kale. Otherwise chop cooked perfectly. The chop was moist n juicy. A lot of food and great prices. I didn't have a reservation but I didn't wait long. Great service.
