Appetizers we ordered were also so yummy. the pierogi and the king pao combo. The only disappointment was there were only 3 shrimp and loaded with chicken. River Mill has definitely become mine and my boyfriends go-to brunch spot. I have to start by mentioning the free cornbread they give you for the table is THE.BEST.CORNBREAD that exists anywhere. It is crispy on the edges but somehow a little gooey on the inside. I know this is just the free table bread, but wow. I'm a pescatarian, and the brunch menu isn't super vegetarian:pescatarian friendly, IMO, but they serve lunch at all hours, so it's not really an issue. I have had the Benedict without meat, buut then I discovered their Buffalo Shrimp under 'tidbits'. I wasn't sure what to expect, but wow. It's basically garlic bread with breaded Buffalo shrimp smothered in Buffalo sauce and blue cheese topped with Arugula. This is SO good. My boyfriend loves everything he's had-which is most of the brunch menu. They also have unlimited Bloody's for $15. I'm not really a drinker, but my bf usually gets 3 which is a great deal. Servers/staff are great and I don't feel like there's a lot of good brunch options in this area of LI, so really happy to have it! read more

Love this place! It's one of our go to's for brunch as either a couple or with friends. You get to start off brunch with a VERY yummy corn bread. I don't know how they make it but it's SO good. I always have to hold back from devouring the entire thing. Here are some of the brunch items we have enjoyed the most: - Egg in a bowl - Pulled pork hash - Crispy pork cutlet The below are the items that we found to be just OK, but it could just be our taste style - Chorizo scramble - found it more hot dog like chorizo, then crumbled - Steak and Eggs - was good, but nothing over the top Next time we go I definitely want to try the eggs Benedict and the breakfast pizza as I am sure both are great choices. What is also great about this place is the $10 all you can drink while you are there! They do not rush you out so you can definitely spend a few hours there watching football on a sunday or hanging while downing some drinkies. This was one of our favorite places to eat ever. It rivalled emilios in NYC. We got baked clams to share. Amazing especially with the lemon sauce to pour on top. I got a special which was gnocchi in a bolognese sauce with burrata. Seriously so good. The gnocchi was baked and the sauce was better than emilios. My husband got the New York strip special. Medium. It melted in your mouth and the outside was crusted perfectly. Our server nick was phenomenal and I just cant say enough good things about this place. The atmosphere was so cozy with great lighting. Maybe I should've) I was also disappointed theY didn't have French onion soup. Most places have that as a staple. I do appreciate their having a fresh made, new soup daily. I also was disappointed that they didn't have a veggie burger option. We ordered the fig jam as an app. It was very good. River Mill is a not so hidden gem on the border of Lynbrook and RVC. Restaurant caters to both families and older adult crowd and have something on their menu for everyone. Decor reminds me of an elevated bar/restaurant. Truly a great place for anyone to check out if in the area. read more

Today is my birthday and I wanted to eat some lunch before work . Our server was polite and her customer service was great. We got our appetizer and our drinks and it was so delicious (mozzarella stick) then their special for the day was the steak sliders with mushrooms and grill onions. It had flavor and sautéed good. I often have a hard time finding places I want to eat in Long Island, not sure why maybe I am just picky lol. I came here on a Sunday afternoon , the restaurant wasn't too crowded and we had no issues getting a table. The hostess did let us know that a huge party would be coming in and gave us the option to sit at the bar which is another side of the restaurant. It was pretty cool because no one was on that side and we chose the only booth available ! I ordered the Cobb salad with chicken & my boyfriend ordered the shorty pizza. The food was great. I loved his pizza and really wished I ordered the same but that doesn't mean that the salad wasn't good lol it's just when you put salad against pizza , pizza wins every-time. The Cobb salad comes with a tomato vinaigrette which to be honest didn't do much for the salad but that's okay because the flavors were there from everything else ! The salad was huge and I couldn't finish it all & the pizza was a great size as well. They also give you a mini complimentary cornbread with butter which was really good ( a bit sweet just a heads up). All in all I would definitely come back here if we were in the area and I'm 100% getting the pizza next time lol. read more

Service was friendly ;0) Drinks are yummy, food is yummy (actually a slight negative would be a little too much salt for my liking) but I love everything that I've had. My kids love the corn bread and I always take one to go. From what I've experienced, they abide by CDC guidelines and I appreciate that so much. First time here may be last time. List of specials from the waiter included skirt steak, which my wife ordered. When it came out it was a strip steak which is a very different cut. Our server admitted to misspeaking about the skirt steak, which is sort of (?) understandable, but after swapping meals with my wife since I don't mind a good steak, it was very tough and chewy. Apps were just so so, with the pretzel tasting like it was stale and the baked clams containing very little clam. Also, and what really ticks me off, the beer I ordered came out 2/3 beer and 1/3 foam. When you're charging me $9 for a beer fill the glass properly. At the end, not even an offer to adjust the bill for the error on the steak. One more annoyance - we were told that we had to be done by a certain time due to a reservation. This is understandable but the busboy asked several times if he could clear our plates while we were still eating - not cool especially when we were way ahead of schedule to be done in plenty of time anyway. read more

My son and I came in for lunch on a chilly January afternoon and it exceeded our expectations! The atmosphere was warm and cozy, with the holiday garlands still up. Love it. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They had a brunch option so I got the Eggs Benny. Super yummy! Best of all, it came with a corn cake with butter that I shared with my son. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. We both loved it. My son got the Chicago Short rib sandwich. It was a beautiful open faced sandwich with an au jus in the plate. Talk about a warm hug on a winter day! He let me have a taste, delicious! The menu isn't huge but it doesn't need to be when everything is so delicious. The staff are liars and will STEAL your money! Last month I went here for dinner & drinks with two other people. Food was good (Enjoyed the Grande Tacos). We split the check three ways and while checking my bank statement a couple days later, I saw they charged me twice, instead of charging the third person I was with. I called the restaurant MULTIPLE TIMES about this and they pretended to understand and agreed to refund it. After about the fourth time of false promises, I ended up disputing the charge through Chase Bank! Our first time at River Mill was my wife and I hosting 20 family members for a Sunday brunch. Having never been there and having a large crowd, I was a bit nervous. Well it could not have been better. From the moment we arrived and pleasantly greeted by Taylor who introduced herself as our server, the day was perfect. But our fault for not asking again. The buffalo chicken flatbread was delish! And the BIG salad is indeed BIG! I had the BLT Cobb with Chicken, enough for almost 3 meals for me, only change was I wished the almonds were crushed, or sliced as it was hard to pick up. But that is a really minor critique. It was our first time in Rivermill and it didn't disappoint. The Christmas music was a nice touch. We got there for early dinner there was one other couple at a table and our server Chris greeted us and took our drink order. On his return we ordered the BBQ chicken wings and they were excellent. We then ordered the potato leek soup that had a beer cheese sauce and Cajun shrimp. It was one of the best tasting soups I ever had. For dinner I had the Steakhouse sliders and upgraded to fries instead of chips. My wife had chicken Lottie Dottie Burger and fries were perfect and I loved the seasoning and crisppyness of the fries. For dessert Chris said the skillet chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. Wow nothing bad about this dessert. All in all we will definitely be back again. read more

Upon arrival, we were asked if we had a reservation, which we did not, and was asked if we could be done eating by a specific time. We sat down and our server was super sweet. We ordered and received our food PIPING hot. My partner and I both ordered something with the short ribs, but could not truly enjoy it as they were WAY too fatty and oily for us to eat. We returned the dishes, and our amazing server Brendan was so gracious and apologetic. We tipped big because tipping based off of what our check ended up being didn't feel right. Amazing. I came here with my partner and we whole heartedly enjoyed the experience, as well as the food. From outside, you'd never think it would be as full as it was. It has a bar side and a dining side. We came on a Friday evening and it was PACKED. We were seated immediately and our waitress Stephanie was just great. Attentive, quick and caring. We got a delicious bottle of wine, stuffed baked clams, I got the double down chicken sandwich and my partner ordered the maple mustard salmon. Everything was DELICIOUS! Everything was cooked just right and all dishes had the perfect portions. For an unnoticeable restaurant, the food and customer service explains why it's so packed. One of Lynbrook's gems. We met friends that live near this place. It has a decent menu and a good beer / wine list. As we sat at the bar waiting to get a drink while our friends came, I could tell that there are many regulars there and everyone seemed to know everyone. The menu has a big variety. 3 out of the 4 of us got tacos- which are massive. I could easily share the two with someone. Not your typical taco fillings but these were fresh and yummy. One complaint is that my shrimp was cold. My other friend got the crab cakes - which was a big portion as well. Service was fine - nothing out of this world. The reason for 3 stars and not 4 has nothing to do with the food, it's very good. Or the service, also fine. It's the VERY loud customers in the dining room. Holy crap shut up. I don't need to hear all the conversations going on around me. Not a great beer selection. Need stouts or porters. There are a lot of great local beers they could offer if they wanted to. Crispy calamari was hot and crunchy and not tough at all. Aioli and marinara were yummy. Fish tacos were very good. Not one bone. Burger was medium rare as requested with caramelized onions, Boursin cheese and horseradish! Moscow mule was too sweet. Simple syrup not necessary. Anyway ... we've been here before and would come again but we'd sit it the bar area (where we sat the first time) it's much quieter. read more
