Located on Ocean Ave, just minutes from the SSP, River Mill is tucked away (if possible) on a busy road but with lots of residential areas. It has a parking lot, which is very convenient especially if you are having a large gathering. The menu features many items you'd find at other places but they each have a twist. The group started off with the tuna tacos and dumplings. The tacos were out of this world good. Just the right amount of flavor, crunchiness and that wasabi sauce, wow. The dumplings were nice and fresh, and really good for sharing. We were then given a complimentary dog bacon and cheese dip. Let me tell you, make sure you order this... you will not be disappointed. For dinner I got the Holy Schmidt burger. Really really good too. I was stuffed after everything. Oh, how could I forget all the craft beers on tap. Lots of local seasonal stuff. This is honestly a hidden gem in Lynbrook! I was initially drawn in by the view of their sports bar with tennis playing as a tennis fan. As I walk in, there is actually a whole restaurant in there as well. As a family of 4, we each ordered an entree and two drinks. The total came out to around $200 after tips which isn't bad at all. I was super satisfied with the service and our waitress was super helpful with recommendations! I left a happy customer and will definitely return again to try their brunch menu. read more

They were very accommodating to our big group considering that we did not call in advance. The staff tried to seat us all outside as they were very busy inside, which would have worked great had it been a pleasant sunny day but we had to go in eventually as it started to rain and lucky for us the inside had gotten less busy. The food served was excellent certainly. We had the Sunday brunch menu for the large party of about 20 of us. I had the Pulled Pork Hash which was totally delicious and my wife had the French Toast Casserole which we had never seen before but it was very rich and tasty. I came to this restaurant with two of my other friends for brunch and none of us have ever been here before. We went at around 2 on a Saturday and was seated at the bar. It was a little loud inside due to a private party. The decor was very rustic which I liked. We got chicken and waffles, French toast casserole and egg in a hole with the short rib. You have the option of sipping on mimosas, screwdrivers, bloody mary's, beermosas, bellinis, bloody maria's or mellow mary's while you dine in. If thats not enough to get you to check this place out keep reading. Your meal starts with COMPLIMENTARY cornbread that was hands down the BEST cornbread that i've ever had in my life. The edges were perfectly crisp and the inside was soft, almost a creamy consistency. For my meal I ordered the egg in a bowl, which was raved about on other posts and it did not disappoint. The brioche bun was topped with melted cheese, short rib that easily pulled apart, a fried egg, and gravy. The gravy was fantastic and really added something special to the dish. Another crowd favorite was the french toast casserole: Creme Brûlée Custard, Toasted Pecans, Maple Syrup. It's hard enough to please one customer, pleasing 20 is nearly an impossible task but River Mill succeeded!! Not one complaint was made. Friendly staff and absolutely great BARTENDERS!! The wait was about 20 minutes or so but I didn't get impatient waiting by the bar and talking with the bartenders. I asked him to make me something sweet, but not too sweet. He made a yummy drink, but I had to ask him to add more juice (light weight here :)) Once we sat we enjoyed the wings and the tacos! so good! The service was fast and attentive. River Mill has been a spot I frequent weekly since it's inception and you should strongly consider putting it in your restaurant rotation. Lunch and dinner menus are strong with a pleasant blend of old staples and new innovations. Brunch is fantastic as well and my vote for best in the area. Bar area is welcoming and perfect for watching sports year round. Beers on tap are always good and cold and tap lines are clean. New signature cocktails are a welcomed addition. Service is always outstanding and beyond friendly. They go out of their way to be helpful, accommodating, & pleasant no matter the day or the circumstances. My family has a tradition that whenever a cousin turns 21 we take them out to dinner and drinks. Each one has been at a different location. Each has been great for one reason or another. The latest was here at River Mill, and the great part here was the food. Wow, the food was SO good. My brother got the pork chop, and asked me to taste it so that I could be jealous. Luckily for me, even though his was definitely the best pork chop I had ever tasted, I was not jealous. The food here is good for what I remember from past times dining here. However, my family and I came for Mother's Day with a 3:00 reservation. Another reservation that was made before ours came in and they had 13 people instead of the 7 they had made the reservation for. Rather than honoring our reservation, we were knocked back 45mins for another person's mistake. Not a great move..... My absolute favorite restaurant! The food is delicious! The servers are amazing. I especially enjoy when Rebecca takes care of us. She is always friendly & helpful. All other staff is as well! The food never disappoints! The owner Frank is always on hand to answer any menu questions or just to say hi. He really lets his customers know he cares about us. Covid Note: Everyone wears their masks! They do have outdoor dining with heaters but be afraid to sit inside! The tables are so spread apart! It is social distancing at its finest! Such a great weekend brunch place. Brunch ends at 3pm on the weekends. When we came in it was pretty crowded and our party of 3 had to be seated at the bar instead of a table, which worked out. The food was absolutely delicious. We tried the French toast casserole, brick chicken and the short ribs all from the brunch menu. All 3 were delicious. We will become regulars for brunch at this place. The service was excellent and the outside patio is spacious, beautiful and has plenty of seating. It was packed when we arrived around 1:45pm on a Sunday and it's easy to see why. My wife and I ordered the short rib bowl, the frittata and the French toast. The meal was truly exquisite, with the French toast dish being unlike anything we've ever had before. They also had an unlimited brunch drink option for $15, which seems quite reasonable. My only complaint is that they don't have any non-dairy milk options, which is surprising. But obviously not that big of a deal (unless you're vegan). No complaints. We will definitely be back and now we know that we don't need to venture far from home to find amazing brunch. We will probably give them a try for dinner during the week, as well. That was UNTIL I walked in. Ended up not even wanting to eat here due to the vibe. Everybody working there looked at us as if we didn't belong. No smile, no facial expression, no greeting, not even a "Hi." There was no acknowledgment at all. They just looked dumbfounded. Not sure if it's because we don't look "American" enough or we offended them by wearing a mask. Definitely felt like we were not welcomed at all. Anyways, I'm sure my ONE review isn't going to make much of a difference. Just hope no one else has to experience what I experienced. I love exploring different places. I like to review them and recommend them since people are always asking me. Especially if the place is highly rated. I will definitely NOT recommend any of my friends or anyone in general to come here.
