I wished I would have stopped in sooner! The setup and theming are great for watching any sporting event. The first time I stopped in, the Smashburger and fries were impressive. The burger was juicy and the Rival Sauce was some kind of aioli that added some zip to it. The fries were crispy but not overcooked. The Great White Hype pizza was basic. Nothing outstanding, but not bad either. I have been to this location three times and I would say the food has been hit-or-miss. Service has also been spotty. During lunch (my first trip), our waitress was very attentive, drinks were consistently refilled, and our food came out promptly. The second time, I had to flag down our waitress quite several times to get anything. Nothing to complain about when it comes to the prices. Our service for the Super Bowl with a large group was amazing. I wish I remembered our waitress's name. She was so sweet and service was great too. Our table tried a lot more of the food including a pizza with the garlic sauce instead of red sauce (delicious), crème brûlée donut (amazing), spinach dip (decent and much better than it looked), brownie sundae (looked great and friends said it was), nachos (also looked good and included lettuce, which is a nice touch). The drinks were also very good! The sound wasn't the best for the Super Bowl/commercials. Very disappointed with both the food and takeout service. I ordered online for convenience with a pickup time of 7:27 PM, arrived a bit early, and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I didn't receive my order until after 8:00 PM. Most of the food was cold. The wing order was almost all drumsticks with only one flat, and the French onion soup was cold with unmelted cheese. I saw that this place replaced The Walnut Grill in Bridgeville so I really wanted to check them out. I looked online prior to coming in to see if they had Gluten Free options and they had a bunch! As you can see from the menu pictures I posted almost EVERYTHING has that option which is really nice! I sat at the bar and was greeted by the friendly Jacolynn! She made me an amazing Lemon Drop Martini and made sure everything was made right with the GF options I chose. I had a hard time deciding whether I wanted the Chicken or the Steak Nachos and she recommended the Steak and it did not disappoint! The next option is got was the Jalapeño Popper Dip. It normally comes with bread crumbs on top but she made sure it was made without them. It was sooooo good. Just a little greasy for me. We were at Rival this past Friday at around 5:15. There was hardly anyone there for a nice day at happy hour. We ordered boneless chicken wings, a side salad, and a burger. I got boneless wings in the past as they were freshly breaded chicken. This time they passed off frozen chicken to me and they were awful. I also ordered them with Cajun rub and of course all they did was sprinkle the rub on top which doesn't hold on frozen chicken. Literally no flavor at all. My son also said his burger was 'ok' and you could tell it was a frozen patty and not fresh also. I still gave Rivals 3 stars as the service is always good and we love going to watch games and sit on the patio. However I don't recommend ordered food here. Rival is a great spot for a good bar food meal or to watch a game with friends. The restaurant was super clean and everything has a new look to it. The setup inside is really cool. They have batting cages on some of the walls and a ton of sports memorabilia. They also have a bunch of games inside and out. My group started out with the jalepeno popper dip and shotgun shrimp. Both were delicious, however the portion sizes were very small. The jalapeño popper dip was only $9.99, so it is more understandable with this dish. However the shrimp appetizer was $13 for only 6 shrimp. For my meal I had hot buffalo and chipotle bbq wings. They were both outstanding. Super flavorful sauces with the perfect amounts of heat. The wings themselves were also cooked perfectly, with just enough crisp to them. Really good homemade ranch as well! read more

You can't have common sence and at the same time call that a pizza. The sauce taste like chemicals and the consistency of water. I don't think you could pay me to eat this pizza again. The bottom was wetter than the water they gave me at the restaurant. It was very floppy. On a Dave Portnoy scale I think I would give it a 1 because he says 1 is more embarrassing than 0. Whoever made this pizza should be locked up for life cause of how bad it was. I don't know how anyone would eat that. If I was on an island stranded for a whole week and got a choice to eat the pizza or starve I would choose starving. I would rather eat fresh cow monour than this garbage. This place gets very mixed reviews from our family of 4. The environment is fun and the service was fast and friendly. We waited about 15 min for a table on a Saturday evening. My 13 year old, a self proclaimed food critic, gave his boneless wings 5 stars. The rest of us gave our traditional wings, chicken hoagie, and french dip handheld a 3 "at best". My friends and I came in yesterday to watch the Steelers game on the patio. While I think this place has potential, I think there are some kinks that need to be worked out. And I understand that since it's a new business. Let's start with the pros: Our waitresses were great! They checked on us regularly (without being too much) throughout the game and they were both really kind and smiling the whole time. The outdoor space is very nice. The portions are generous. Now, here are some cons: The patio space is nice, but it was difficult to watch the TVs with the sunlight. Additionally, the TV that is in the grass/firepit area could be larger so it is easier for everyone on the patio to see. We ordered the chicken nachos as an app, and while the portions were generous, my friends and I mentioned to each other that we didn't get any chicken. I'm not sure if it was missing all together or there was just a little bit of chicken on the nachos (since we didn't finish them). They put the fans on but they were dusty so we were worried about dust/cobwebs falling onto our table. Like I said, I think they have some kinks to work out. But I can see the potential. read more

We've ordered takeout from here multiple times and it's always been good. We decided to finally dine in to see how it was fresh. Server was friendly and quick although he didn't write anything down and therefore missed my substitution but it was fine. I enjoyed my grilled cheese although then not having hot sauce at a sports bar should be a crime. My favorite dish here is the jalapeño popper dip, it's delish! Just wish it came with maybe pita bread or something instead of thin chips. Rival has potential but we had a lot of "misses" when we went for dinner on Sunday night. On the positive side: the food. My husband had the chicken avocado sandwich with fries, and I had the chipotle chicken cheesesteak with onion rings. We both enjoyed our meals and thought the portion size was nice. We also loved the "vibe". We were seated outside where there's a nice grassy area, a fire pit, and TVs all around. On the negative side: 1. They didn't have enough high chairs, so our under 2 year old was on our lap for the whole meal. 2. They were out of White Claws (which seems like a pretty normal drink staple to have). 3. Our server didn't check in on us once we received our food, including not refilling our drinks or bringing out more napkins. 4. There's an up charge for onion rings/tots, which is listed on the menu, but as a side, they're also the same price as the fries on the menu. 5. The spicy margarita tasted "off" and had lemons in it, which was a strange combination. It seems like they're still working out some of the kinks of a new restaurant. read more

Avoid the entrees here. Had the chicken parm and it came out cold, despite us arriving early (4:45) and the place mostly empty. I had to send it back. Mrs. Reviewer had the Philly cheese steak. (Lesson learned - don't order cheese steaks unless you are in Philly or at a place that specializes in them.) Hers was very dry, also not hot, had almost no cheese or onions, and was very small, almost kid sized but for $16. They are clearly pre-making the food, freezing it, and quickly heating it up when orders are placed. This is sub-standard and results in the food being cold and dried out. Also watch the "Happy Hour" pricing. Many drinks aren't discounted at all including tall sized beers. In short go elsewhere for real food. read more

I've tried to go to RIVAL twice. The first time was great. The second time it was pitch black and closed during advertised business hours. I went one evening during a Steelers game and the place was packed! We had to wait to get seated and there weren't too many people there without their black and yellow clothing on. Finally, a couple seats opened up. There is a full bar and about 20 beers on tap. A really nice menu, too -- I would recommend the chips and jalapeño dip. While this restaurant is still new, it seems promising. There aren't too many other popular sports bars in this area so I think it should do well. read more

This is the place that went in after the Walnut Grill. I stopped in last night for the first time. It has a great vibe with all the TVs so there's really not a bad spot to watch games/sports of your choice. They have a large bar to sit at, high tops and regular tables and a decent size patio too, which will be nice when it isn't so hot and humid out. Our server was great. He was very personable and had us laughing a few times. We got some apps and sandwiches and everything tasted great. My friend got the veggie wings even though she's not vegan. She wanted to try them because of the convo she had about them with the server and she said they were delicious and you wouldn't know they weren't meat. It's definitely a fun place to go relax and have some good food and drinks with friends. I'm sure it'll be a busy place when the local Friday night football season starts. read more

This is a new restaurant in the Bridgeville area. Let me say, it did not disappoint. The food is delicious! You need to try the jalapeño popper dip and either of the the cheesesteaks. They have a pretty good happy hour as well as daily drink specials. It was $4 draft beer and well drinks. On Fridays, they have $4 23 oz miller lite drafts all day. This seems like a great place to watch football games. They have a ton of tvs! The space itself is nice and updated. They have a nice, big inside bar. Came in Sunday for the Pirates game. There was plenty of seating available at tables, but the bar was pretty packed. The outdoor space was pretty empty, due to the temperature. Our server was prompt and friendly. Our food came out quickly, the drinks were a little slower. I had the smashburger and fries. The burger patties were larger than I expected and cooked as requested. The Rival sauce was kind of like relish, ketchup, mayo mixed. Maybe some pickles? not spicy at all. I also tried a piece of the buffalo veggie wings on top of my friend's salad and they were crispy and delicious. You could hardly tell it wasn't real chicken. The fries were fine! I wish they had a little more salt. The spicy margarita wasn't very spicy. If you want it truly spicy, I'd ask for extra muddled jalapeños. The bathrooms were clean and most of the stalls had wave-to-flush systems installed. One last thing to note- they don't have the sounds of the game playing for the Pirates. They have background music going, but the game showing. The manager did say they include game sounds for basketball, hockey, and football games. read more
