    B&S Smash burger

We stopped at Santello's after church today for lunch and boy was it good. It was our first time trying this place so we didn't know what to expect. The service was stellar and the food was delicious. We started out with the pretzel braids and literally it was the best tasting pretzel I've ever had. Something about that dough was special and made magical things happen with one's tastebuds. I ordered the B&S smash burger for my entree and they definitely smashed it out of the park with this one. We were blown away with this restaurant and will definitely be back.

Before going, I saw on social media they were rolling out a new menu and I guess I expected more because it recently changed names, etc. the place itself is a nice space for not outdoor and indoor seating, looks like live entertainment at night with a stage. It took a very long time for our food to come out and when we got there, it was just us and one or two other tables inside. When the food did come out, plate presentation looked like it was all just thrown on the plates, all our sandwiches looked plain, no lettuce, tomato, tartar for the fish(said they were out). We were going to order a second round of beers, but it was difficult to get our server to come and check on us. We walked over to where they were rolling silverware and just grabbed extra napkins ourselves. Not sure what the new menu items were, but nothing we ordered would make me come back.

Tried it again since it's a new owner. The food was okay but was nothing special. I had the chicken parm and my mom had the Caprese chicken. Large portion, hot when it came out. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. It was really hot in there but when we told the waitress she had them shut the doors. It had just happened to be one of the days it was 95 degrees out. So it was nice that they did close the doors. We still had a good time. The dude that was performing made the night special by letting my daughter dance on stage with him!

Tried here for dinner and a comedy show the other night. Food was served promptly and was absolutely delicious! We had a great server that was very knowledgeable and attentive. We had two sides and both were big enough to share! This place is doing good things and under a nice transformation. Check them out

Absolutely the best Pittsburgh salads in the area! We get take out a lot and I'm always torn on what kind of salad to order! They use real steak, not steak ums. I also love their salads. Portions are huge! We also like their wings. That's usually my husband's go- to. Good place for take out because the orders are always right and never let us down!

My husband ordered 6 hot garlic wings and they came out with no hot sauce. I think they were just butter and garlic. He didn't send them back because we were in a hurry, so we aren't really holding it against them. My husband ate them all and said they were cooked perfectly. However, they were SO small. Its a decent serving size for an appetizer. I enjoyed it. The nachos were surprisingly tasty. When they came out I was unsure about them because any other time I've ever ordered a loaded type nacho they're, how do I explain it, more colorful I guess. Usually its like bacon and American cheese, guac, pico, etc., but these were just shades of white and green. I wish I could've finished them but the portion was quite a bit for 1 person. My only gripe would be the chicken. It reminded me of the meat you get in a launchable. I think I would rather prefer a crispy diced chicken. But that's just me. The other 2 didn't have any complaints about the Rival Stix or the burger. The Chicken Tenders were said to not have much flavor in the breading. The person who ordered them didn't care for the breading. I was also tempted into some sort of creme brulee donut I think. It was really good but I was already so stuffed from the nachos that I couldn't finish it. Its for the sweet tooth folks. The general space is all sports themed as expected. Quite spacious. The burger was juicy and the Rival Sauce was some kind of aioli that added some zip to it. The fries were crispy but not overcooked. The Great White Hype pizza was basic. Nothing outstanding, but not bad either. I have been to this location three times and I would say the food has been hit-or-miss. Service has also been spotty. During lunch (my first trip), our waitress was very attentive, drinks were consistently refilled, and our food came out promptly. The second time, I had to flag down our waitress quite several times to get anything. Nothing to complain about when it comes to the prices. We came in after a round of golf to relax and have a bite to eat. The meat portions on our sandwiches were so small that any cook there should've been embarrassed to serve it. As you can see from the picture, and please note, it's supposed to be a tall boy which means extra meat, there is nothing on the bun except the hard green tomato and a slice of crappy deli. They also should've just apologized in advance when serving us that our supplier gave us terrible tomatoes so we left them off the sandwich. Every other primantis I have been too has had atleast double this tiny "portion" size of meat. We're literally paying extra for a bigger sandwich and yet we got a slice of meat on a bun. Out of character for my boyfriend, he said something to the bartender about there being no meat. And she reluctantly said I'll request a new one. Then, prior to receiving the new sandwich, the bartender confronted us about the size of the sandwich, like we were being difficult, and continued with it was pre-portioned to be the same size as all other Primantis locations and would not be larger or better. All we took from this is its pre-made the day before and not fresh in any way. Given that all we said was, there's no meat and a green tomato on my bun, which is not our normal experience at Primantis, we're disappointed. She then said, If you want, Ill take both sandwiches off the bill so you'll have a free sandwich. You know, the sandwich we never ate!!! All my boyfirend said was yes, take it off the bill and close us out. And he did say its not a free sandwich if I didn't eat it!! Too bad Jim Patrinos doesn't still own the business as he would be so embarrassed at what this primantis has become. The manager (Ryan) did come over, without us requesting, to address our experience. So clearly he was clearly alerted to our dissatisfaction. He apologized profusely, made a completely new sandwich, even though we said no thanks as we needed to leave, and comped part of our check that we had already paid. Obviously to anyone reading this, Primantis will only go so far for the consumer and must be in horrible financial straights since they should've comped the whole bill. What's two drinks to a company this size, right? Well, apparently they will go out of business if you get a extra slice of meat or drink to make up for them serving you what is unacceptable for any consumer. It will take a lot for me to visit a Primanti's in the future. Their food has been going down hill for years and barely edible.

I love any…read morekind of Bingo, and I saw on Facebook they were holding their monthly Bar Bingo on this night. So, I made my way on over. The Village TapHouse is located in the South Hills Village Mall area, but a little up the road from the actual mall. It is tucked away in the rear of the building located on the corner of Washington Road and North Highland Road. The business that is visible from the main intersection is Clubhouse Cards. If you follow North Highland past this entrance off of Washington, The Village TapHouse will be on your right. There is some limited parking right in front of the entrance. However, since there are a lot of other businesses around here, you can find other parking across the street or before the actual entrance, regardless of which direction. I had no issue getting a spot right across the street, and making the short walk over. I arrived that evening around 7:00 PM, as that is when the Bingo was slated to start. There were a good amount of people attending the event, as the indoor main dining area was pretty much full when I arrived! No issue for me though, as I was by myself. So, I found a seat at the bar. There were several other patrons sitting at the bar, but it was not shoulder-to-shoulder or anything like that. There is also some patio seating, but I do not believe the Bingo was heard out in that area. Once situated, I went up to buy my Bingo cards from the two hosts. They were set up in the main dining room, but were using microphones. I had no issue hearing them all night long from the bar. It was $10 for a pack of 3 cards, and I purchased 2 packs. They also had daubers for sale, but I brought my own to use. I waited around for the games to start once I bought my cards, which ended up being around 7:30 PM. It was also Pajama-themed Bingo, which I was unaware of until I arrived. This allowed you for a special perk for one of the games. I am not sure if they always do this, but I would advise participating in whatever theme is advertised to get the most out of your experience. There were a few bartenders serving this evening. The lady who waited on me was prompt and friendly the whole night. I started off with a pint of FireWistle Red. It was a solid red beer, and served as a nice sipper for my evening. As the Bingo went on, I decided to put in a food order. I ordered a Half Dozen Wings in the Chicken and Waffles Wet Rub. I thought this was a unique flavor, so I wanted to give it a try. I enjoyed the taste of these! They were split wings, but overall the size was serviceable. The plate also had several pieces of celery and ranch dressing to accompany the wings. The food here was fairly priced. For my 6 wings and beer pint, the total was around $15. It seemed from the menu that the majority of entrees were $15 or under, which I believe is a great deal. Overall, no complaints in terms of prices or value. I ended up staying here for nearly three hours in order to finish the Bingo games. So, I had plenty of time to take in the atmosphere. I enjoyed the people, staff, and the overall vibe of the place. The patrons were friendly, and the staff seem to recognize their regulars while having meaningful conversation. Plus, the Bingo games brought some fun and entertainment to the night overall. This first visit of mine to The Village TapHouse was a positive one. Very much enjoyed the people, atmosphere, food, and fun Bingo activities. I cannot believe with how close I live to here that it took me this long to give it a try. Now I am happy to know there is a spot like this practically in my backyard. I have seen on Facebook that they also have Trivia Nights, so that is something I want to check out in the future. Even though I did not win Bingo this time, it will not stop me from coming back and trying again. I would recommend stopping here for a meal, or a fun night of entertainment, if you find yourself in the South Hills Village area of town.
