I came here today because I wanted my nails done for new years. Dana which was mail lady was extremely passive aggressive and made me uncomfortable to the point where I wanted to leave without my nails even being painted. I asked her for a specific design and she said that it was a bit basic and she could do a design that was prettier. I said okay and she proceeded to do my nails. The base color I picked looked different from the nail example, and I think it was because she did 3 coats which made it look pinker. She did the design and as she was close to done doing the design I told her I didn't really like them. I felt extremely bad telling her but I am paying for the service. I immediately regretted saying anything because she then rolled her eyes and rudely grabbed my hand. She started to file off the color and was grabbing my fingers so hard that her fingers were getting red and she cracked one of my fingers. She then said something to her coworker which turned to look at me so I get even more uncomfortable. I told her it's okay you can leave them like that without color. To which she responded "we aren't talking about you, we are talking about the glitter". That made me even more uncomfortable because I never mentioned or said anything about her talking about me. She ended up doing the design but was loudly sighing and nodding her head. Once she was done she rudely told me to go wash my hands, which I didn't because I just wanted to get out of there. It was just a bad experience. I felt extremely uncomfortable and felt that I should've just paid for the first design she did and left. This place is not a nail salon. It's a butcher shop. Jennifer did a horrible job and if you ask her to fix it she gets upset and tries to get rid of you. I have been coming to Ritz nails for the last 4 years and keep coming back for a reason. Every pedicure I've gotten has been amazing. If you need a fill- go to Jody, they will be perfect every time. Dianne for an amazing pedicure (but also everyone is!) and Kathy for anything Gel x! Everyone is so nice and I always leave very happy with my mani or pedi. I love that they do the pedicure and manicure at same time as well. They just moved to a brand new location across the street in the district - check google for updated address - phone number is still the same - but it's beautiful! First, as I'm looking for nail colors they start rushing me and my sister to pick one, their color selection was awful. As time goes by, I had asked for a stiletto shape medium size, I notice that all nails were shaped and sized differently and my thumb nail was EXTREMELY short. When I informed the lady she was rude about it and told me "no all nails are even, this is how you wanted it". As I repeatedly told her I was not happy with the shape she started getting louder saying "listen to me, this is how it is". Eventually I had 4 women surrounding me telling me they weren't going to take off the nails and how I should just keep them as is. Long story short they gave me a new lady who still refused to remove the acrylics but to cut and shape them to look natural, which were still hideous looking and my sisters nails were colored as if a kindergartner painted them(I spent $120). When I called to speak to the store owner he told me to come in and that they would fix it. I got the same lady who was assigned to fix my nails the first time, she was rude and kept hurting my fingers as she was working. They rushed me again and every time I pointed out a crooked finger she became more aggressive. I asked for gold nail polish and she gave me silver. I drove 50 miles up and 50 miles back so desperate to get a pedicure and new set of acrylic nails. I took a chance and was so impress soon as I arrive was greeted with a friendly welcome, they took my temperature and asked me to wash my hands with sanitizer they had as a stand. All the stations were set up outside under many tents and shade. Holly did my pedicure and was very friendly and did an excellent job. While I walked in first and another lady behind me came in afterward and he started making convo and asking what she wanted when I'm over here first like hello?? I am very disappointed with my manicure. My nail artist was super sweet and she missed her lunch to do my manicure but I wish she didn't bc I'm not happy with them at all. I cleaned my own cuticles as soon as I got home and removed the nail polish a few days ago. I only had it on for about 4 days bc I felt terrible removing it. There was leftover gel, polish around my nails, lint on my nails, cuticles hanging off etc. We should get what we pay for. It should be nothing short of 5 stars. The only reason I'm leaving 3 stars is bc my facial and massage were amazing. My pedi was ok. I hated bringing it up to the concierge bc my husband wanted to treat me for Mother's Day. So sweet of him. It was worse when the concierge said he couldn't do anything other than remove the tip and see if she'll touch it up bc his manager wasn't there. When he called to see if she could touch it up I believe she said no at which Pt he offered an additional 10% but I thought he couldn't do anything other than remove the tip. Sketch if you ask me. I hate not tipping. I'd prefer tipping & not paying almost full rate for less than a half done job. Also especially due to covid the pool area should be kept nice and clean at all times. I understand that there are limited places to get your nails due to what's going on, I get that. I also understand that doing people's nails outside is harder, I get that. What I don't get is why we as clients are paying more for less, and why owners don't appreciate there staff more. I made my appointment a couple days beforehand and noticed when I made it, they didn't get my phone number, just my name and the time of my appointment. I casually thought they must have gotten my info from there caller ID and left it at that. I arrived on time, and hold had to wait one or two minutes before sitting down. They had everyone spaced apart and wearing masks. I got a dip manicure and regular gel pedicure and was happy with my pedicure but not my manicure. I noticed the tech that did my nails didn't cut my cuticles, she did them with the drill, not really even getting them done. When did they stop using the actual cuticle cutter? Maybe this was to save time, but when I'm paying this much for dip nails (there prices have gone up), I expect my cuticles to be cut, the right way. The second thing was the color of my nails, the color I picked out was really light pink, my nails came out more like pink starbursts, I asked the tech, if it was the same color I picked, and she said yes, but that the sun made the display colors nails, (the ones you look at to pick your color) had faded because they were in the sun...Anyways, I wasn't happy with the color. That being said I noticed there were other people complaining while I was there as well, apparently nobody wanted to take the time to do the design they wanted, and there was an issue with how much someone else's pedicure was... The last issue is the processing of tipping...I understand a lot of people use credit cards, but apparently the owners make the techs pay a fee to get their tip from the transaction, like they can't eat the charge and let the techs get their tip without them hold how ever much percent they do...I pay cash, it's easier, and that way the tech gets her tip right away... read more

I've been going to this place for years now on and off because it is next to where I live. I went there late, and I think it's the best time to go because they just want to finish working hence they won't pressure you to upgrade your mani or pedi. They usually always pressure you and they are annoying as hell because hey don't give up. But this time they didn't insist they just offered once, and I said no not today, and they were okay with it. I don't remember the name of the girls who did my mani/pedi, but they were good. Then again I didn't do anything crazy, I just did regular laquer and simple mani/pedi. Overall I was satisfied this time around because they weren't annoying about getting the more expansive treatment or getting gel done. I went for my first time a few weeks ago. This was honestly the best pedicure I've ever had. I upgraded it which included callas removal, exfoliation, a 10 minute massage and some sort of oil application. I was beyond relaxed and was extremely impressed with the service. Will definitely be coming here from now on for my pedicures! And side note, the salon is so clean. Terrible! I went in for a pedicure and eyebrow wax. I asked for the basic pedicure and apparently that is their "deluxe pedicure," which left my feet feeling the same as when I walked in! The polish is a joke, you can see the edges of the 2nd coat and the tech cut the side of one toe and it actually hurts now when I touch the side of that impacted toe. As for the eyebrow wax, she nicked me in FOUR different places under the same eyebrow!! She was going so fast with the tweezers that she took skin. On top of that, the front desk manager walks around checking how fast these woman are working instead of worrying about the quality of service they are providing. I should have gone to my usual salon, but I wanted to try a salon that was close to home and it was NOT worth it. A complete waste of time and money if you have high standards for your nails. Ritz Nails is now one of my favorite nail places to wander to in Irvine. I came in one day in desperate need of pampering. One of my nails had been chipped the night before and I needed a manicure asap!! Since I was feeling extra bummed out, I decided to get a pedicure as well. I did not have a reservation, but I was immediately seated. Kelly worked on my nails, and Jody worked on my toes. They were both very polite and lovely. They spoke to me in English until I informed them that I was Vietnamese. The ladies here seem to all speak English pretty well. Since they were both so nice, I let them convince me to get the deluxe mani-pedi package ($50). This includes your basic mani-pedi with the additional scrub, paraffin wax, and 10 minute massage per service. I was especially pleased with the paraffin wax, since it was my first time ever receiving this service. My skin felt so nourished and smoothed after the service. Not only that, I feel like these ladies both gave me an amazing massage. It was firm, not just lotion-rubbing. And I felt like they may have given me an extra minute or two!! My fingers and toes were in heaven!! Also, they have a really good line of nail polishes. I have been showering, swimming, doing dishes and everything else routine... but my nails have not scratched, chipped or peels. YAY :D I will definitely come back and I will make an effort to make my appointment with Kelly and Jody. read more

MY BFF brought me here today for mani/pedis. I liked Ritz a lot, and I would definitely consider coming back again, even though it is nowhere near my house. The place was nice and clean and bright. The massage chairs were comfortable and not a total pain in the ass to get into/out of. The chairs also had cup holders, which was nice because I had a coffee with me. The ladies that worked on my nails didn't talk to me too much, which I like. They did ask how I was, asked if my friend was my sister, and the girl doing my mani complemented my ring...but beyond that, they just left me alone. Awesome. They didn't pressure me to get all sorts of crap done, which was also great. I know they have to offer me things, and they did. But it was in one run down, "Do you want callus remover, paraffin wax or extra massage?" No, thank you. They both did a good job on my nails, and the prices were average. I've been coming here for pedicures consistently for the past couple years and have always been happy with the results. One thing I've always been cautious of is their upsaling their pedicures to deluxe packages, etc. I always say no. Then they ask if I want callous removal for additonal 5 dollars and I say no I just want basic pedicure. But this time, one lady removed my callous without telling me. And she did it so lightly as if I wouldn't notice. Then she charged me the total with the callous removal, even though she never asked me if I wanted it. I just paid her anyway because I know times are hard with covid and everything, but you don't have to be deceptive to a customer who has been coming here consistently for years, and would have continued to. All of the nail salons I've been to are only open until 7PM, but Ritz Nails is open until 7:30PM. You'd be surprised at how much of a difference 30 minutes makes. Most of the times I've gone, they've stayed open past 7:30. You'll see stragglers coming in 5-10 minutes until 7:30 and they happily welcome them. This nail salon is real real nice. There are about 15 luxurious lazyboy-looking leather chairs for pedicures and 4 tables for manicures. They have two giant plasmas in the back where most of the chairs are facing. This place is SO clean, it's like walking into a dentist's office. My nail technician is Hannah. She doesn't talk much, but you can tell she is a really sweet lady just from looking at her face. Although I can hardly understand her, we try to converse as much as we can. She never gives me crap when I ask to cut my nails super short. Some ladies can get real tough, but she's always been real gentle. They're all pretty efficient, I can see how they want to make sure everyone is tended to in a timely manner. They accept plastic, surprisingly even Amex. I'd recommend bringing cash for tip. Ritz Nails is located in the back of The District, across from Target and next to Office Depot. I have been to many nail salons and Ritz Nails is by far the best. There is one particular Nail Technician that stands out from the rest, Dana. She is not only the prettiest girl there but she is the most talented. She does not rush through the process but rather she takes the time necessary to ensure near perfection. If you have a picture of a design you like, Dana is the artist who can recreate it. I had recently moved up to LA but I still make the time to drive down to OC to have Dana do my nails. I did both mani and pedi at here. For medi, I want to remove my dip and let my nails take a break; and for pedi, I want to do a red wine color. The front desk lady urge me to pick a color a few times, and I consulted with her, which color looks close to red wine color, she said all the colors are on the shelves, she doesn't know much about what are there, just pick one. Finally, I picked my color for my pedi by looking at the color boards. When I started my medi, the lady told me dip doesn't harm my nails, so I don't need to take a break.
