I am prefacing this review with the fact that my daughter has been coming to this nail salon for the past 8 years, religiously every 2 weeks. She sees the same nail technician, Cindy, who does an outstanding job. I have also had my nails done when I visit my daughter, this most recent time is no exception. And I am visiting all the way from California. Jack did my nails- and he did a great job. This review does not concern the nails techs, Cindy and Jack. Rather, this is focused on the poor customer service from the receptionist, Shania. My daughter scheduled our appointments on Saturday afternoon. We arrived on time, my daughter went to her technician's station after checking us in. Unfortunately, the receptionist did not show me where to go or tell me who my appointment was with. First impressions are lasting impressions. I noted this as I returned to the front desk and repeated my name, that I had an appointment but did not know with whom my appointment was scheduled. Shania showed me to Jack's station but still failed to tell me his name. At the end of our services ($300 of services for my daughter and me), Shania asked me if I wanted my receipt, to which I said 'Yes". I asked Shania if I could tip in cash, which she said 'Yes'. I gave Shania 2 $20 bills and informed her I was tipping $20 to Jack, $10 to Lin (the techs who did my mani, pedi). My daughter already tipped her nail tech. Shania failed to give me my change and I did not notice until we left the salon and went to our next destination. By the time we got to our destination, I told my daughter we need to go back to the salon because I did not receive my change. When we returned, my daughter went inside, explained to Shania that she did not give me my change ($10). Shania told my daughter that I told her $30 tip for Jack and $10 for Lin, that Jack already left for the day and we'd have to wait until Monday before we could get the change. My daughter told her that was wrong, I would not have tipped $30 on a $100 service and did we really have to wait until Monday to get change that was owed. My daughter returned to the car and gave me Shania's explanation which was unacceptable to me so I went into the salon. I confronted Shania who repeated the same story- that I told her $30 tip for Jack, $10 for Lin. I said, "You're lying because I clearly told you $20 for Jack, $10 for Lin". I don't normally call people out like that but there was no remorse from Shania, no apology, no words like, 'I'm sorry for the misunderstanding." Instead, she responded with feigned shock, said it was not a big deal and gruffly put 2 $5 bills in my hand. I said if it was not a big deal then you should have given my daughter the money when she came in a minute ago, particularly because we doubled back once I realized I did not get my change. This is not about the $10. Rather, this is about the principle of the matter- how to treat customers who are spending good money in your salon. This is not how a receptionist should deal with customers. She took no accountability, no responsibility for the mistake. If she had genuinely apologized, that would have been different. I explained to Shania that we doubled back because I realized the error and even then she could not manage to muster an ounce of remorse. She is a horrible receptionist. A receptionist is the face of a business. The first person that a customer interacts with whether over the phone or in person. Shania should not be the face of your business. Please put a receptionist in place that understands the value of providing good customer service and has the maturity and wherewithal to acknowledge when a mistake has been made. Until then, your business will suffer. I echo the comments of a prior reviewer- the additional charges for every little thing is annoying and leaves a poor taste in customer's mouths, not to mention seeing each technician with signs posted at their stations with QR codes to send them tips. Seeing those posters and signs for how customers can tip each nail technician through Venmo or a Cash App service really cheapens the ambiance and having to interact with a receptionist who has no clue on how to treat customers does not help!!!! $300 for nail services for 2 people, plus tip and a bad attitude? Not wanting to return to the same place I'd previously gotten my nails (fullset) done, I searched IG specifically for a nail specialist who worked at Ritz so that I could see their work. Kay jumped out! Her posted pictures with looked beautiful! So, I immediately booked an appointment for an acrylic fill w/ gel polish. I was immediately greeted upon entering and only had to wait a short time to be seated at a station. Being an ambivert and not really into small talk, I don't usually hold conversions while getting my nails done. But! Kay and I talked and laughed for almost the entire time! She's very personable and down to earth. She's also a perfectionist, which I love. It's very evident that she loves what she did and takes great pride in her work. I'm normally a person to write positive reviews not bad ones but my experience here was so bad. I booked my apt for gel nails and somehow there was a miscommunication and the lady was so rude to me about it. Instead of being like no worries, it's okay we can do that. I got "well I asked you". (all she had done was put a base coat on my actual nails btw). I knew, immediately my nails weren't going to be done nicely after that. And they weren't. So now I not only left rudely spoken to but also with poorly done nails. Oh and they up charge for everything. $40 acrylic, $5 nail shape???? $20 for gel polish... $15 service fee. RIDICULOUS. I gave this salon multiple tries due to its convenience to my home, so after multiple attempts, I feel pretty good about telling you to go elsewhere. First off, I've had numerous issues with scheduling/time here. I schedule appointments because I'm a busy person and need to have appointments in my calendar. I waited for almost 40 minutes for one appointment, and just as I was about to finally throw in the towel- I was finally sat down. This is so disrespectful of people's time. Secondly, their nail techs truly are not that good. I've been to numerous salons all over the country and can pretty confidently say that I've never really had a good pair of nails here. The quality is not good. My nails are always shaped in odd ways, the polish is either bubbled up or so thick, etc. Which brings me to my next point, they nickel and dime you. They charge to "shape" your nails...? Like really? I'm not talking about getting an entire new shape of nails, I'm talking about a basic file and reshaping. Something that is included in all basic manicures. They also dropped chrome on me and didn't tell me it was an additional $20 added to my bill. They will try to add things on! Be aware. When you go to pay, you'll be surprised at what is an "add on." And trust me when I say the additional costs are not worth the crappy job the nail techs do. Lastly, they have broken numerous nails of mine-including the owner. Accidents happen but it's happened multiple times and as someone who takes care of my nails and has all *real* nails, this is just uncalled for. They are supposed to be nail experts. So, I will be finally going elsewhere and I suggest for you to do the same. There are so many other nail salons in the area, don't go here to get crappy service at a ridiculous rate. read more

I first went in as a walk in and the receptionist told me to have a sit and someone would get me. Then about 5 minutes later I saw told to sit in the back to get my pedicure. I waited about 10 minutes until someone came to help me. They offered me something to drink and then gave me so many options for colors that I was a bit overwhelmed. I originally picked #15 which was like a dark green color but for some reason it came out to be purple. Still looks really good but not what I originally picked. They had 2 playlists going on but they were both great. If you come here, be prepared to pay a hefty penny. They charged me $5 to take off the gel polish ( but they didn't tell me). So for a regular pedicure I paid $80. Ultimately they did a great job I just think it was overpriced. read more

I came in as a walk-in and the woman who did my nails was pleasant and polite. my pedicure was done quickly and looked very nice, but my gel manicure was not the same. My manicure looked like it was unfinished and not smooth. I walked out and then had to come back in to make a complaint because when my manicure was done, I didn't even get a massage nor any lotion or. I did ask the woman about the lotion and she just put some on my hand and I had to do it myself. The place is very pretty and the staff is friendly but they are not honest and clear when it comes to the pricing. I was told a price for a service and when I was going to pay it was a lot more. The service did not include my nails being painted. Hello !! I go to the nail salon to paint my nails .. but adding the color was an extra $20 on top of the $55 I was told that was going to be the price for the service. In addition polish removal was an extra $5 but when it was time to pay they said it was $7. They need to be upfront about their pricing and not give you a surprise when it's time to pay. read more

I have been going to ritz on and off for a few years now. I would get my hands done by Tru but I stopped getting my nails done and only do it on special occasions with whoever. I got a gel mani pedi this visit with a newer nail tech.. my gel manicure lasted all but 2 days before they started lifting so bad I couldn't evput my hair in a ponytail without getting my hair stuck under the gel polish. Also the experience started off ok and ended up awful. Very awkward encounter then the tech over filled my foot tube and embarrassingly spilling water everywhere and having to break the bag to drain the water. I really hope I don't get some type of nail infection. Then to ignore eye contact the entire transaction time to hovering over the pin pad when asking for a tip. This is 6 days after my appointment. I have not touched anything with dye. The odd shape I left with cause I couldn't communicate with the tech but this strange stain is on all my nails. On top of that, my experience there was not great. Front desk was super short, borderline inconvenienced. Tech was rude and also inconvenienced. Place is super small and PACKED. It's been 5 months since I've had any services done and I decided to take my time reading yelp reviews to find the right spa to visit. Not only did they live up to my expectations but they excited them! Upon arriving, True greeted me at the front door, asked me for my information, and said it would be about ten minutes, and that I was welcome to wait in the lobby. He checked my temperature which I very much appreciated and I quietly watched him as he cleaned down all the areas after payments were taken or guest were done at the drying station. I even watched him wipe down the area I was seated in when the nail tech was ready for me. I have to say that his attention to detail really impressed me. Not only was the salon immaculately clean but absolutely beautiful. I was greeted by Mason who was just about finished wiping down the spa chair which was separated from other guest. Mason asked me which type of services I wanted to get done and it having been my first time there I asked him if he could explain to me what each entailed. I decided to go with the deluxe pedicure and it was so worth it! Mason took his time giving me a great foot massage and overall catered to the spa feel. I loved it! It was very relaxing and just what I needed. When it came time to pick a color, he provided me with gloves and a flip chart with all the nail colors that they have to offer. I really appreciated how they take the time to ensure that they are being as safe as possible for themselves and their guest. Mason did an amazing job with my toes and I was really happy with the service. At the end of my services I walked over to the drying station where True was waiting to turn it on for me. Upon payment there is no contact you swipe your card and hand sanitizer is waiting for you once your done signing. This review is long overdue. I've been coming to this nail salon since I was 16, Im now 22. True knows how to run a business and how to keep his clients happy. I've been with several nail techs in this shop and none have ever disappointed me. I'm currently with Bess and she does amazing work every time. The salon is always clean and they decorate for holidays. The receptions are also always kind and patient when I make my 100 appointments. I moved to Pompano and still make the drive over to davie just to get my nails done here. Can't imagine going anywhere else. read more

The tech was not aware of what she was supposed to do. She went back-and-forth a few times. Twice in a row my nails are left thick, unfinished, rushed and with unmatching colors from manicure to pedicure. I had to ask to re-touch toes because they were not done right. For $80, a customer deserves better. I feel like another number, everything is expedited. It should be called nail express. Customer Service from the nail techs is non existing. I paid for the deluxe $50 pedicure, gave a $18 tip.... stayed with toes in dryer for 20 minutes, left went to Trader Joe's 3 stores away and noticed my nail polish was "melting"and wrinkling. Came back to salon, they repainted my great toes. I stayed another 30 minutes to dry. Went across parking lot to Best Buy, was in there 20 minutes. Went back to car and checked my toes, still wet, melty and wrinkly. Absolutely one of the best nail shops I've been to. We made an appointment last minute and they were able to schedule us in on a Friday. As soon as we got there we didn't have to wait at all and went straight to get pedicures. The same lady did my nails and toes and I can't remember her name but she did an amazing job. I love how clean it is in the salon and there's TVs everywhere playing music videos which I love. I hate going to a nail salon where there's no entertainment and you can't use your phone while getting your nails done because that's rude and makes their job harder. I went recently but covid protocols were still in place and everyone was spaced out even with them being super busy. I love watching other people getting their nails done and their nails looked amazing as well so the staff must be amazing here! They also have a high table where you can sit and get your nails done which I thought was really cool. I've never seen something like that before so I wanna try that out next time. So I mistakingly mixed up my days and canceled my previous scheduled pedicure appt. at my usual place. When I realized it I called but the spot was already gone and they were booked for that day. I was in need of a pedicure so I decided to try a new place. It doesn't hurt to have a backup place. Sadly this is not that place. The shop is bright and clean but the service is were it fell short for me. The person at reception was nonchalant and abrupt with responses. The technician was friendly but lacked experience. I went here some time in October impulsively after my waxing appointment next door. I have been trying to budget my finances so I have not had a manicure since the previous year. I said screw it, and walked in blind! I did not check the reviews or the prices before walking in either. I walk in and immediately I am greeted and welcomed by the staff. An employee inquires how they can help and I ask for a gel manicure. She leads me over to the choices of many polishes and guides me where to sit after I choose my polish. Although there were hundreds of choices, I was struggling to find a color that I was in the mood for. I finally decided and sat down. I want to say my technician was Kim and she was so hospitable! She was smiling and friendly. As I sat down she offered me something to drink, which included wine, soda, water, maybe beer? I asked what varieties they had of white and when she said Riesling, I was super excited and asked for that. Unfortunately they had ran out so I took the Sauvignon Blanc instead, which was still very nice. As she was doing my nails, there were televisions above playing Parts Unknown. If you see my profile picture, you can probably guess how excited I was. I was trying to hold back the tears. I am totally loving this place so far! My technician did an excellent job and even suggested an extra coat of polish to make the color more extravagant, which she was right. She told me to sit as long as I wanted after she was done to finish my wine and watch Anthony on tv. This establishment was the cleanest nail salon I have ever seen in my life! I honestly did not see one speck of dirt or dust anywhere. The one less star was the price but when you put everything into perspective, it was not so bad. My bill was $33 for a gel manicure. Most places charge anywhere from $25-35 and I received a glass of good wine, a very clean atmosphere, and a very good experience. I will be back soon for sure! read more

I got a pedicure and it went fine but when I went back to get my eyebrows done I was shocked. The lady doing them was so aggressive, she didn't ask how I wanted them and the wax burned my skin. Been looking for a new nail salon for so long and I finally think I found it. I've been here twice and had Kim for my gel pedicure. She really is a gem. She's very cool/friendly but not in a fake way at all. I love her pedicures and she helps me pick out/try new colors I would never do, but end up loving! I came in an hour before close and they took me right away. During the day times I would make an appointment because it's very busy. They have tons of color options and and opi colors (hallelujah).
