After doing some research of estheticians in area I decided to give Skin Geeks a chance. I've been struggling with my skin for a few months now and I needed help getting to the bottom of it. To be completely up front the booking process at first made me a bit overwhelmed as they had pre-consultation with me on the phone the night before to see if they'd be able to help me which made me feel a bit on edge. I arrived and was greeted by Walter and was given a form to fill out with my skin concerns and the general questions that are asked when you get a facial. Finally I met Adriana and she spoke with me for about 10 minutes about everything I've been doing with my skin and what's be going on. We finally decided on me getting the acne facial with nano needling. The facial it's self was very relaxing and she explained everything she was doing and her reasoning behind it which I enjoyed because I like to know exactly what is going on. After the facial I was given aftercare knowledge and a list of the products she recommended. I really appreciate that they didn't pressure me into the products they said for me to do my research and decide for myself which I defintely am going to do. It's also good to know if I do decide to get the Dermalogica products they give 5% discount to their clients. Overall my experience at Skin Geeks was extremely pleasant and positive. Wow. I'm so happy I found Skin Geeks! This was a great experience every step of the way. I made the appointment with Walter who was really friendly and professional over the phone and in the office. When I first arrived, I was immediately greeted and given a form to fill out containing questions about my skin care regimen. The esthetician, Adriana was wonderful, super knowledgeable, and thorough. She sat with me for over 20 minutes going over my routine and the products I'm using. She wrote down everything and even looked up the products I was using to make sure they're helping me achieve my skin goals. She was so patient and kind. I didn't feel at all like she was pushing products or talking down to me. It felt like a conversation with skin-smart friend. The facial itself was heavenly. Adriana was gentle and explained everything she did every step of the way (which I loved because I'm a skin care newbie). I had a wonderful experience with Adrianna for my first facial in over 10 years! I have minor acne and she recommended the acne microdermabrasion facial. She walked me through the process, took her time, and made sure my skin was reacting well to each step. My skin reacted so well to the facial in fact that a couple weeks later and I'm still enjoying the results. While it's not something I can afford every 6 weeks recommended I will definitely budget for it maybe once or twice a year, at least. The place itself is so quaint, cute and quiet. Best facial I have ever had.. and I've had quite a few from dermatologists to hotel spas. I went with my friend one day based on Yelp reviews and do not regret it one bit. My skin has never been better. I had issues with dryness, sensitivity, dullness, but the girls came to the rescue. Adriana and Lena are extremely helpful. Lena was my Facialist and she was so gentle, thorough, and explained everything very well!! My facial lasted about an 1 HR-1.5HR. I had been a customer for almost 4y, in which I've had to cancel maybe more than liked but it was always due to unforeseen circumstances or getting ill all of which wasn't in my control. I always tried to reschedule with ample time given but sometimes life throws you curve balls. I had to cancel a few times way more than usual in the last 4/5 months and I don't feel circumstances ahold have to be explained. Usually I would but this tome around my father became ill and then passed 6 weeks later which lead to a whirlwind of events...when I finally had chance to ask to be rescheduled I received no response for going on a month now. Quite sad considering I remained loyal even tho the prices are double anywhere else...and I was able to find someone else who's better and less expensive -guess it isn't my loss. The owners should maybe considering being more compassionate as they don't know what may be going on in ones life when having to cancel. At Skin Geeks I got a gel manicure and a pedicure and was charged $85. I only gave a 15% tip because it was so expensive so the grand total was $97.75. I'd heard great things about Skin Geeks through the grapevine, so when I checked Yelp & my fellow Yelpers echoed the same sentiment, I had to book an appointment stat. Since this was my first visit, Adriana took about 10 minutes to go over my personal habits so she could get a feel for what type of products I use & to offer suggestions on practices I might benefit from by adding to my beauty routine as pertains to my face/skin. My facial session began with Adriana testing the moisture level in my face & decolletage & I was surprised to learn my skin was below the ideal moisture level (I was surprised because I carry a water bottle with me everywhere I go & drink water all day long); she explained that my routine of working out 3-4 times a week on a regular basis & taking hot showers are both factors in my lower-than-normal moisture level. Anywho, the steps involved in my facial were typical of other facials I've had, but I did appreciate how Adriana pointed out my skin "flaws" as she looked at them through the (evil) magnifying glass- I didn't previously realize the extent of my sun damage or multitude of blackheads my face was harboring, so now that I know these things I plan on taking even more measures to repair & prevent these issues in the future. After the facial was over, Adriana re-tested my moisture levels & most areas had doubled in moisture so this was my affirmation that having regular facials will benefit my skin in more ways than I expected. I asked Adriana for suggestions on products she thought I would benefit from & she was able to provide me several brands (not sold in her salon) that contain natural ingredients (I mentioned to her that I mostly use 100% homemade/natural products on my face). She in no way pushed her salon's products on me (Skin Geeks uses Dermalogica) but I did end up buying an exfoliating/brightening skin polisher from her as she did say my skin would probably really benefit from this product. I was impressed with the small, but clean salon & Adriana's professional & informative bed-side manner; even more impressive was the face mapping skin analysis Adriana created for me, which I found very useful.
