I've been here many times before and it was absolutely horrible for a while--hence the bad reviews. Not this time. My regular pharmacy (Freddy's) told me they were out of my insulin and I would have to wait until tomorrow, but I was totally out, and as you can probably guess, this isn't a medication I can just skip for a day or any length of time. I went to Providence Urgent Care at Tanasbourne, but they were closed. As a last ditch effort before having to go wait all night at the ER, I crossed my fingers and walked in here instead. Since I had used them before, I was at least in their system. The pharmacist listened and was patient with me (I couldn't remember my doctor's name since I just switched and haven't seen her yet) but she tried to locate it in the system. Finally I remembered and told her, and she placed a call to the after hours number and had the on call call her back. I waited an hour, and despite them not even being my pharmacy any longer, they gave me a single pen to last me until I could get a proper refill. Saved me from a night of pain and possible need to call an ambulance. read more

Pharmacist delightedly informed me that they were out of my medication and that it was "my doctors problem". Seemed to take pleasure in it. I assume they hire from the bottom of the barrel as there is nothing on their shelves. Take it from me, skip this place if you value dignity or privacy. Not sure what has happened to this location, but the service has been dismal for months. They don't answer the phone anymore, have been several days late on our prescription refills for months in a row. This was not the case before or during lockdown. Since the world opened back up, the service has just fallen apart. I've mostly had great interactions with the pharmacists, but many of the techs just don't seem to give a damn about anything. read more

From food to skincare to feminine cycle needs, this location never has anything in stock. The shelves are always empty as if they're going out business or have been looted. It's disappointing when you live nearby and need to go here for emergencies. Better off getting what you need at the grocery stores nearby or beauty stores. read more

**Id like to preface by saying I hope they get the staffing they need eventually it can't be easy and I sympathize. I've never gotten pissy at them in person. If you want to d*e of old age (or whatever illness you have) waiting for the line to move you've found the right place. But wait if you survive the line, you'll be told to come back in two hours and then it will be ready because they're short staffed; even though you filled it through the app or called the automated voice to refill 5 days ago. My prescription has never been gathered unless I physically wait in line and tell them to fill it; and they'll have me return in 1-2 hours. The app refill and call refill line are USELESS, it's like the pharmacy doesn't even get the notification. If you call, you'll be on hold, cool, whatever; I don't mind being on hold. But then BEEPBEEPBEEP, the line drops the call. You can't leave a call back number, or you'll call and it will say line is busy. My favorite is when the hold music is playing for minutes on end and then it loops you to the main menu, you do it 5 more times and then it just hangs up. Between my husband, son, and myself, we have like 20 meds that need refills constantly. All that being said. The only positive thing I have to say is the cashiers in the front are always nice and courteous. read more

I really think this Rite Aid deserves more than a two star rating. The store is clean, well stocked and nicely organized. The employees I've dealt with here have all been pleasant and helpful. While I was browsing the vitamin dept recently, a gentleman who was straightening the shelves was eager to offer assistance. Even though I didn't need any help, he was giving good customer service by even acknowledging me and being friendly too. The one and only negative I can see here is that their regular non-sale prices are a tad bit higher than stores like target. But then again I rarely get eager offers of customer assistance like I did here at Rite Aid. read more

If you have no other choice of a pharmacy, you will need to lower your expectations drastically. Phones are never answered. Prescriptions are never filled on time. I guess they are helpless handling. Store was super clean, I have not been in here in years, 10 plus at least. The AC was working well which was nice since it's muggy out. The remodeled and updated store was aesthetically pleasing and service was helpful and friendly. I will definitely go back to this one after my experience there today. read more

Lifesavers. My husband just had an appendectomy. We usually use CVS, because of our insurance. I had a prescription from the hospital for his painkillers and I had dropped it off at CVS in the evening and was told I could pick it up in the morning. I went in at noon and they told me they could not fill it because the DEA number was for the hospital, not the prescriber. This review is about Rite Aid, so I am not going to go into all the ways CVS let me down. But, I was about in tears when I got the script back around 4:30 pm. I drove over the Rite Aid because it was the closest 24 hour pharmacy and I explained it all of the lady at the counter. I had expected to need to have the hospital call them, to work something out, like I had tried with CVS, only with no closing looming over me. Nope, she told me they could use the DEA from the hospital, no problem. An hour and a half later, I had the prescription and was driving home. I had spent 5 hours trying to get it fixed at CVS, to no avail. Rite Aid was able to help me without any drama. I had been terrified I would have to go home without it, my husband would run out in the night, and  we would be in a literally painful situation. Instead, they swooped in and rescued me. I don't care if it took and hour and a half - I got dinner and took a walk. I care that I got what I needed, in time to prevent serious issues following surgery. Some years ago, we had always used Walgreens and then, due again to a change of insurance, we had switched to Rite Aid. I had figured one pharmacy was like another. At that time, I realized they were not. They filled faster and gave me better service. Returning in this situation reminded me of how satisfactory I have always found them to be. As of yesterday and today, I can confirm, this store nor pharmacy answers their phone and they do not fill prescriptions that are sent electronically until you walk in and ask them to. My regular pharmacy is closed on Sundays so I had immediate care send my Rx here- big mistake. I gave them an hour and went to pick it up around 6, and they hadn't started it AND said to come back at 8:00 to get it. My PCP today sent a MyChart message saying "I ordered a new inhaler and sent it to your pharmacy"... I just knew it was sent to this RA since it was the last selected pharmacy on my chart. I called the store and pharm a total of 5 times, then called 1800riteaid where I selected this store as the one I was trying to reach and they directed my call to a different nearby location. I asked if they could please see if they have my Rx and if it's been filled and they said nope- they have the Rx from this morning but it has not been filled (it's almost 8pm). Useless pharmacy. I'm a medical assistant and have had people tell me this is their pharmacy, and now I'm wondering why anyone would choose to go thru such a shotty business. Yikes! read more

So I popped in right after a modem pickup at Xfinity. I had one or two things to buy, then I saw a decent Prosecco at a good price, so I had a necessity or two and a treat. I proceeded to the self-checkout and figured they'd need my ID for the wine. The clerk came to help and showed me or initiated that I could have scanned my ID for proof. Hey, that sounds slick. I was impressed with her quick attention and helpfulness. Two days later, same idea, I stopped in after returning the old modem next door. There were one or two things on my list. I proceeded to self checkout again, knowing I could use my ID for a wine purchase. I was done with checkout and after scanning my ID, still had prompt for assistance. The staff probably has to validate the purchase of Alcohol, I mean self-checkout, scanning ID, and leaving seems too convenient. There was one clerk checking folks out to my far left. She hollered over at me to bring my purchases over to her, get in line and she could help me. I was puzzled and said, "oh I am done scanning and checking out, you want me to lift up these 4 items and walk over to your line" and the line was growing as I said this from 2 to 4 patrons. Between her customers she couldn't be troubled to step over, click the screen, and go back to helping the remaining customers. None of my items were necessary, so I just put them all away where they belonged and left. Kind of a poor attitude with telling me to start over and go to the end of the line. Why have self-checkout? On my way home I did stop at Rite-Aid on Beaverton-Hillsdale. I spent more $$ and was in and out efficiently. read more

Horrible everything. Shelves are empty, the floor was dirty and the woman in the pharmacy has a bad attitude. Their website isn't updated so if you have Kaiser, they will not cover your Covid vaccine but they won't tell you that until you've waited in line for 20 minutes behind six people. The woman kept saying there is nothing I can do and I said well you could say "boy I'm sorry that happened to you" and she didn't. She just kept repeating "There's nothing I can do." Again I told her yes you can say you're sorry that that happened. She stuck with "there's nothing" she can do and then screamed bye. She's lucky I'm on parole. I have had such a rough time managing my life during COVID Been given prescriptions to try for anxiety, panic etc. Adam and Chad I hope I got it right w Chad the graveyard pharmacist Anyway, they are always swamped and wait times can be long BUT these 2 pharmacists go above and beyond in my opinion Adam has been very patient in explaining how and when to take meds. Always a smile even when they is a long line Chad really helped when I was having a panic attack Somethingreal.personal.happened to me and I called to check on my Rx he heard the despair in my voice( I was having an anxiety attack all panicked) and he genuinely asked if I was ok. He then proceeded just to listen, no questions asked .Wished me well. Gave info I called for and again wished me well. Sometimes people might be at tje end of their ropes and THIS kind of empathy is much more important than faster service and rushing customers. This kind if service can make a person's day and even save a life! Pharmacists here at Rite Aide (all of them) do their best but I needed to share what these two men add to their job description, kindness. Plain empathy and kindmess. Went there to bottle drop with my colleague and was treated disrespectfully right of the bat with an older female cashier day 06/26 12.20noon She made us wait in line and kept helping the other customers who came after, without informing us of the process and what we were to expect. My colleague then asked why she wasn't catering to us and she became defensive. The manager joined in who instead of diffusing the situation just escalated the whole ordeal. Did not give any concern to our customer needs instead foolishly made aggressive remarks and argued with us the CUSTOMERS! Very disappointed with this store! This has been my pharmacy for many years now after Walgreens and I broke up. Rite Aid just works. They are good at working out insurance changes. My ex's ( and therefore child's) insurance changed dozens of times and it's never been a problem. This one is 24 hours. When you have kids and old people that is good. They send pick up reminder texts when your meds are ready. I need them. Staff is generally nice and efficient. It's recently remodeled with big aisles and its light and open. The parking lot is hairy, arranged with lots of weird angles, full of distracted drivers, so be careful. Only minus. It's close to Zen Teriyaki, Chevron, Trader Joes, Great Harvest and a decent pho place so you can check multiple things off your list. I'm in there often and it is easy. Easy is important. *Forgot to mention, there is a young man in the pharmacy who remembers us. Given the volume of prescriptions they fill that amazes me. read more

Worst pharmacy ever. Called to see when prescription would be ready, was told 3 hours, went in to pick up after 3.5 hours, waited in line for 25 minutes and when I got to checkout was told it would be an additional 20 minutes, waited 30 minutes then went through the line again waiting another 10 minutes, so twice as long as I was told, get to checkout and was told only one prescription was ready and it would be another 20 minutes for the other one. Why not just tell me when I initially called it would be 5 hours instead of having a sick person waiting in the store for 1.5 hours going through the long line 3 times. Ridiculous. This is a typical suburban Rite Aid. Unlike the location downtown that I frequent for the heck of it, there are no hobos sprawled out all over the sidewalk out front begging for spare change. It is always clean and quiet in this store whenever I wander in. But this is not my usual Rite Aid as I only venture in here when I am on a mission for something specific. Most recently, I needed a prescription filled. I dropped off my script and picked my three prescriptions a prompt 15 minutes later. I felt pretty good about how fast they took care of me. During my 15 minute wait I wandered around the store and found that it was tidy, well stocked and sale prices well marked. Mostly I amused myself in the cosmetic section. It seems that no matter how many red nail polishes I have, there is always a new shade of red that I must have; how do they do that? It will probably be a while until I need the services of this particular Rite Aid again, but when I do, I am confident that I can count on swift service and a new bottle of fabulous red nail polish. read more

Pharmacy never answers their phone. On hold for 15 minutes to speak to a pharmacist about an error in their fill and when the lunch time came, my call was disconnected. Went and stood in line again for the second time today to ask them when they can finish filling my med and was told " we don't know". I don't know why they don't carry an adequate supply of a med other pharmacy's appear to have in stock. I called around to the other pharmacies to check. Superficial pharmacy staff accused my husband of being a drug addicted bc I mistakenly sent him with the wrong paperwork! When I walked in the building there was some janitor shining all the floors he decided to places several floor mats on top of one another and I nearly planted my face on the floor. I have intermediate lumber pain but I decided to move the mats to prevent anyone from severely injuring themselves! The staff I've encountered today are not well rounded thinkers. I think I'm going to transfer my family's medication to another pharmacy! THATS 8 customers lost! The money adds up! Store manager should teach the people common courtesy and safety practices. This Rite Aid is such a hit and miss, sometimes they are well-stocked and everything it's in its place, and sometimes it's the complete opposite and it looks like a hurricane went by. The pharmacy is also complicated to use, this is one thing that I've never encountered any of the other stores in Portland. If you use the app to refill your prescription, most likely it will not be refilled by the time you specified in the app. I've been told by the pharmacist that the best way is to call in, which defeats the purpose of having an app. This is cumbersome, because sometimes I do not feel well enough to make a call, but I can do it from my phone in two minutes (rather that waiting on hold for more to reach the pharmacy). I really don't understand why they do not honor the time in the app, I've never experienced anything like this in the other Rite Aid so I've been in the Portland Metro area (Downtown, Pearl and Beaverton Hillsdale) Yesterday I went to pick up a prescription that I requested a refill in the app on Sunday, and it wasn't filled until Tuesday. This seems pretty unacceptable as it was the medication that I really needed and it was delayed for god knows what. In addition to that, they did not have the syringe size I needed for that medication and this is not the first time that this happens. It's been over 2 months that they can't sell me those syringes. I ended up going to Walgreens where they had a bunch (a whole box!) in stock. I'm not gonna transfer my prescription somewhere else, because I've had nothing but positive experiences in other Rite Aids, so once I move back to my old apartment I will transfer back all prescriptions to the closer Rite Aid location. read more

When things need to be authorized by my doctor they dont follow up or let me know so I have no idea and then when I pick up my prescription thats when I find out and either cant get it or have to wait hours. read more

I made the mistake of transferring my prescriptions here because they take my secondary insurance. My doctor called to send in all my prescriptions and some of them were refilled too soon, so of course they wouldn't get done, that's fine. But once they're ready to be refilled, they aren't auto-placed so I have to call in and NO ONE EVER, EVER, EVER answers the phone, so I have to go in each time and then they give me a wait time where I HAVE to come back. There's no filling within 15-20 minutes or even a half hour. Then when I pick up, I hold up the line because they use my secondary insurance on half my prescriptions but not all of them! As if I want to be that person to hold up the rest of their customers. I'm currently trying to get through while typing this review and have hit "3" to talk to a person 9 times already. If your time and gas money isn't valuable, take your prescriptions here. I used to work at a 24-hour pharmacy so I get being busy, but we answered the phone!! read more

Walked in to this rite aid and spent a good 15min inside then walked up to check out when I came in there was a man waiting on the otherside it looked like he wanted to return cans. The lady behind me informs the cashier that there is this person who has been waiting awhile and the cashier responds with "well he's just going to have to wait",her tone was rude and she even made me feel uncomfortable she made no attempt to even call anyone to help this other person that had been patiently waiting im sorry but no matter who you are there is no need to for her to express her self this way she was rude. read more

I've been to this Rite Aid a bunch of times for medicine and for other things so I've had the "pleasure" of waiting on both the pharmacy line and the regular check out line. There were 5 people ahead of me in line at the pharmacy last week. Took FOREVER to get my meds. One person behind the counter. Stood in line for 20 minutes. Ridiculous. As far as the main check out line is concerned, I've had the "honor" of being "helped" by the pony-tailed, gray-haired older lady with glasses behind the counter several times. Look, I understand people go through hard times in their lives or maybe they just woke up on the wrong side of the bed, BUT, whatever happened to service with a smile? Or, "Thank you. Have a nice day". Nothing. Never. In fact, I didn't want to write this review until I went back a few more times, just to cut her some slack. Her attitude never changed. I was the one who thanked HER for my change and said, "have a great day!" I got a grunt, "Mhm" as a reply. Nothing ever pleasant. I have been out of my psychiatric medication for at least 2 months now and this pharmacy has left me so in the dark and given me the run around. No one answers the phone and when they actually do answer I'm told that they're still working on my meds then I can the next day to ask if I can pick them up and they tell me they're still on back order. This pharmacy is the worst I've ever had to deal with. No one ever answers the phone, and I mean EVER. Then I have to drive all the way there and told my prescription still isn't ready after 2-3 days of it being sent in and told to wait several more hours for pick up. Then I can't get ahold of anyone without having to go back in and it's still not ready. Happens every time. Worst pharmacy ever negative 100 stars. They changed my brand of pills without telling me or my doctor. So my system is all messed up. They said pills will be ready Friday so i go there Friday to pick up. Nope pills aren't ready they are working on them. So i said ok how long wait, 2 hours the lady says. I said ok i will come back tomorrow. Come back tomorrow Saturday still no pills. They said Monday at 2 pm they will for sure have the pills. After 40 minutes I approach her again, but this time she says "Your medication isn't available for refill.
