I've recently had to use this pharmacy. Every clerk I've ever had when dealing with my prescriptions have been rude and mean. I don't understand why they treat customers like that! They never say hi or hello or how can I help you! I walk up and it's "date of birth". They don't even look at you. There's one specific female clerk/pharmacist with brown hair that actually gets mad at me when I ask questions. I've seen her treat others the same as well. This is a clean and well-laid-out grocery store with wide aisles; it makes navigating the shop much easier than other crowded locations. They have a good selection of fresh items from the bakery and a nice selection of wine; it is always well-stocked for any mainstream grocery needs. I also appreciate their decent selection of cold craft beer for when I'm looking for something local. While it is a solid one-stop shop for the essentials, it lacks some of the unique flair or specialty items you might find at other places; however, for a standard weekly run, it gets the job done reliably. read more

When my days are packed it's easiest for me to order my groceries online for pick up. I can swing in thru on my way home and they bring the order out and load up my car. I received a text message that my order is ready for pick up or that they are out of an item and if it's ok to substitute accordingly to my selections. I can accept or deny the substitution request. It was nice to know that you could go into that Freddie's and, inlik many things that are changing, you count count on Freddie's to be familiar and feel like your home. Not anymore. It's awful. This review is all about restocking during business hours...STOP DOING IT. At 9 this AM there was so many venders and FM employees restocking shelves and insta cart shoppers with those big carts , that it made impossible to buy all the things I came for. The chip aisle had so many pallets that is was impassable. Found empty pallets still laying on the floor in several areas including at the end of aisles along with flat pieces of cardboard that could easily be tripped over or slipped on... that's dangerous. You can do better, stagger when the venders arrive just like you must do for deliveries. read more

Beware of Using FM Online Ordering for Delivery Worst Customer Service experience ever (for me) this morning - most items missing from order so I was charged for delivery, their digital coupons on what they did deliver were not honored, the auto-generated 'tip' percentage not adjusted as the items did so the tip was 77% . I spent over an hour on the phone - mostly being told that I hadn't actually ordered items that I had. I really just wanted someone to say - "let me fix that for you". I have been shopping at Fred Myer on TV Hwy for over 15 years now, and today will be my LAST DAY!! After checking out with the cashier ( not self ck out) as I was walking out of store( 1st set of doors), my cart locked up, and the door alarm started sounding?? Associate from electronics came over to me and asked for my receipt, which I provided. She looked at the receipt and didn't even look in my bag, I only had one!! And said ok, and magic, cart was unlocked, and I was free to go. No, thank you, no sorry about that, no explanation. So, not only did they want to check my receipt for no valid reason... but they did so by holding me hostage by locking the wheels of my shopping cart. That was a all time low!!! The customer service department at this store is operated with associates who are not trained in their job functions. Each month I receive a money order purchased at a Fred Meyer as a payment to me. Each month I come and cash it at customer service at Fred Meyers. This Fred Meyer consistently has no idea how to cash their money orders, requiring a manager to come and tell them how and what to do. Tonight "Cassandra", who says she is the ONLY store manager on duty, says that they only cash Fred Meyer money orders which were purchased in THIS FRED MEYER STORE! This is an ongoing issue. Does it make sense that the person I buy a money order to pay would have to drive back to the very same store where I purchased the money order to cash the money order? read more

I try to avoid Fred Meyer - I really do because their prices are pretty high on a lot of things yet I cannot beat the convenience of one stop shopping. I also cannot resist their uniqueness and especially around each holiday - they carry different stuff from other places and I love this location which always seems to have way more stock of everything than the other stores. One of the things that impresses me the most is the home decor - seriously, they always seem to have something fabulous. I also love quite a few of their deli and bakery items which are pretty unique. I can always score something pretty great to bring with me to a party or happening. read more

This store lacks good management! I went into the Fred Meyer on TV Highway to pick up one item at around noon. The lines for the 2 checkers (yes only 2) was down the isles and the one end where the self check out was open, also had lines down the isles. They had the self check out at the other end closed! Why? This store is notorious for under staffing and causing their customers to have to wait unnecessarily as other employees are standing around. I have seen this played out time after time. If you want to squeeze out the checkers, then at least have all of the self check outs open! For a company that is listed as one of the top retailers to increase pricing in a time where people could use some help, shame on you for not doing what you can to make the shopping experience less painful. Our main shopping venues for our weekly food needs are Walmart and Costco. That said, we do visit this FM location fairly often to pick up items that our regular stores don't happen to have. Like most Fred Meyers, this store is clean, laid out well and is usually very well stocked. Usually (but not always) the checkout lines are short and move quickly. Of course our shopping experience at chains like FM can vary widely from store to store and even visit to visit. This five star review is mostly a shout out to acknowledge a great checkout clerk on a recent visit. Stopped in to pick up a pair of Levis. I was very happy to see that they were on sale. Still expensive considering they are just your basic blue jeans but all the same, the price was marked down considerably. So I go through the checkout and the clerk scans some coupon sheet she has that gives me another $8 discount! Very cool. Seems like most of the checkers you run into in stores like these can barely handle the basics of the job yet still clamor for a $15/hr wage. That's definitely true at the Walmart where we shop. For reasons that make sense to no one, the supervisors there put the slowest, laziest employees on the "express lane" checkouts. This employee, in contrast, really "gets" customer service, going that extra step and otherwise doing more than the requirements of the job. I hope management at this FM recognizes and rewards these types of employees since that small gesture is likely to make me a much more loyal FM shopper moving forward. Well done! read more

This is my closest Freddy's store with online ordering and drive up pickup. Since I have injured my back and am too embarrassed to have the Safeway guy deliver to my messy kitchen I thought this was worth a try. It was super easy. And the service was free today since it was my first try. I guess it is usually $4.99. That is quite reasonable I think. Last night my kid and I got online and ordered a lot of pantry staples, easy lunch things for both of us, and copious Mexican ingredients. Our plan is to eat homemade Chipotle type bowls all week. I have to say, online ordering prevents a lot of impulse/teenaged -um whining- driven purchases. We got very healthy stuff. She scored one small bag of Doritos to help her cope with all the veggies and brown rice. She is 13. A few Doritos wont kill her. She thinks the brown rice just might tho'. The online system lets you use your membership card ( to get the good prices), choose a pickup time frame, and you're good. We arrived within our window with an empty trunk and checked in. You talk into the intercom thing, they direct you to the pickup spot by a side door, and a friendly guy explains it all to you, takes your payment (debit or credit only), and loads up the car. Easy peasy. Speaking of peas, that was the only thing they had to swap out because the ones I ordered were not available. The guy explained they typically go up in quality for the price of what you ordered originally. I don't care, they're frozen peas. It was fine. All in all it worked great. Everything was packed well, it was all that we asked for, we didn't have to work all that hard, and the man was very nice. I am doing this again. Especially for big pantry stockups on canned/dry/frozen goods etc.I like to pick out my own produce and fish etc. but honestly I do that elsewhere usually. This is a godsend for a stressed out, overworked, injured, single mom. Or anyone else really. And I like all the organic options Freddy's has lately at pretty good prices. Win. This review is directed at their Pharmacy services. It's incredibly agonizing just the thought of having to call in to check on prescriptions I need. It's been rare to have a pleasant experience with any pharmacist employee. I understand - it's busy, but kindness is free and doesn't take much effort. Especially, when most people I've come across while picking up my medicine have been the elderly. There was only one great experience I had here - which was a younger Blonde guy and he was the sweetest and Unfortunately never saw him again. There's a girl with colored (blu-ish) hair that's always short tempered and always seem agitated while helping customers. As if most people picking up medication aren't already having issues - the attitude / unprofessionalism is unfortunate. I've even had my kaiser RN nurses who would call this pharmacy about my medications who have also had bad experiences with them. It seems to not matter if you're in the medical field or just a customer. I've been told - they never have issues calling in medication refills at any other locations but for some reason this one. At this point - I'll be switching over to a different Fred Meyers. A family member has gotten his prescription at the Walker location & they've been super organized and pleasant. read more

I love how people are complaining over stock when there are shortages everywhere, and pick up option is newer and they have young kids working because adults are busy collecting unemployment refusing to work. Like for real guys. And I admit pharmacy staff is kinda rude most of the time EXCEPT one of the older ladies who let me borrow her knee scooter for free during my surgery recover, which I'm still using. And for those concerned about maskless people, you don't know anyones life or who they are. No need to lump individuals together and be rude to everyone who doesn't do the things you do or think the way you do. Be kind to one another. It's that simple. This has got to be the consistently worst managed gas station I've been to in 47 years. It's the most convenient to my house and I'm disappointed every time I come here. This will be my last trip. Currently there are 2 attendants for 8 lanes, there are 4 cars in each lane. 2 attendants for 32 cars?? And propane. AND they run people's cash into the main store for them?? I've been here at the pump for 15 minutes waiting to be helped along with a dozen other people. As I'm writing this I just got an attendant and now the pump is messed up. Are you kidding me?!? This is seriously the last time I come here. Get your act together!! I'd rather pay more money somewhere else! I know this review is long, but please take the time to review if you are thinking about using Fred Meyer pharmacy. Regarding the pharmacy in Tigard (97223) - Our family has been going to this pharmacy for over 20 years. Due to terrible service many years ago I switched. My mother however has remained loyal all this time due to two pharmacy techs that were kind to her. These techs quit a few years ago and by that time my mother felt she had too many prescriptions to easily move. Unfortunately, their treatment towards her has gotten worse over the last few years. For instance, her doctor asked her to go in to get a covid antibody test a year or so ago (she is high risk). She made an appointment and when she got there the pharmacist told her that her doctor was wrong and REFUSED to do it. They also hold on to various prescriptions/renewals for days - for no reason - before they fill it regardless of whether it is overdue, etc. One time they even told her two days after her prescription was called in that it was ready only for her to be told when she arrived that it was not ready AND out of stock. Now the current issue - she is required to take two penicillin a day. She has been completely out of this medication for a week now because they said her insurance wasn't going to pay for the renewal until next week. She called today and spoke to someone to tell them that she would pay out of pocket for it and asked if they would please fill it (she is at risk of serious infection without this medication). As the pharmacist or tech was refusing, my mother, her patience (finally) gone, interrupted them to ask again (she was not yelling and wasn't as rude as I would have been) and was told - "Do not interrupt me!" and then they hung up on her. Needless to say I am furious. We have put in a complaint at Kroger but doubt they will do anything since this kind of thing has been happening for years, so I thought I would let anyone checking reviews know - do not give these people your business. There are plenty of other pharmacies that are not cruel and do not mistreat their most vulnerable customers. I will be helping my mother switch pharmacies later today. read more

Something kind of embarrassing happened last time I went to Fred Meyer (didn't it used to be Fred Meyer's...? Mandela effect?). So the whole reason I went into the store was to buy an air purifier for something that I probably should have talked to my doctor about first. I did just have an appointment to establish care in the first place since it's been several years since I talked to a doctor. I'm not the greatest at telling doctors everything that's going on, I usually leave out something important when we're having the conversation about any problems I might have. Just like usual I left out something major, and instead I told them I'm basically fine. Anyways I forgot to mention I've been having some very mild stomach upset lately, nothing disastrous but it does make me late for things sometimes. For instance I'll plan to leave the house at 8 o'clock but I actually end up leaving closer to 8:20. I haven't missed anything important because of this, in fact it might have helped me maintain a public appearance of being too cool to be on time. People look up to someone who can be late and still prepared for meetings and things like that, at least that's what I've heard recently. It might be a generational thing in which case it's pretty lucky that my stomach is making me late at a time it's cool to be late. That almost makes it a net neutral condition. Anyways I failed to tell my doctor about my stomach sometimes having problems pretty soon after eating. When I say problems I mean mostly of the gaseous type. Like I said before one thing that can happen is I can run late because I have to get all the gas out before I can confidently go anywhere. But another thing that can happen is I can really putrify my bedroom. I mean like the concentrated smell of half-digested 2-months-past-the-best-by-date white cheddar rice cakes will be baked into every inch of the air in my bedroom. When the room gets like this I open the window of course, but sometimes that's not enough. Hours later I'll still smell rotten sulfur hanging around in the ceiling corners or something. So I decided to try out getting a room-sized air purifier at Fred Meyer. I got it the other day but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. read more

Astrid at customer service was working at 7:45 am and I don't think she's a morning person or likes people! I needed to return an item without a receipt and told her that but then she actually didn't listen and twice in my 3 mins there she asked about it. FM gives credit without a receipt, shouldn't be a hard transaction. I've worked in returns at another major retailer so don't understand why a kind greeting and smile wouldn't be given. This store is filled with maskless people. I'm not sure why it isn't enforced to some degree. Produce section had at least 5 women with no masks and it's blatant. There are never more than 2-3 check stands open at a time even with customers backed into the aisles. It does not appear to be a staffing issue as I always see a ton of people by the clock in area. I get that I don't know the goings on at any store but these two issues listed just really need improvement. read more

The grocery store is really not bad at all, this review is intended for: Kroger Pharmacy really stinks! Located within the store. This pharmacy is TERRIBLE! There is always a line. Even if you refill with their automated service, you will still have to wait 20-30 minutes (45 on the weekend)! I asked the cashier why, and she indicated that the pharmacy always gives preference to prescriptions handed in. Freddy, you were a true pal on this fateful day last week. I visited you three times - each time in a vastly different city in Oregon. And each time, you tempted me, satisfied me, and watched me walk out the door. This location proved to be like many others. I couldn't get the type of cereal that I wanted (are Fiber One Honey Clusters really that obscure?) - nor the brand of hot dogs that I prefer (Hebrew National 97% Reduced Fat Beef Franks...a tasty camping delight) BUT on the flip side, if I wanted a porch swing, tiki torch, or you know, an engagement ring, I would have been in luck. It is your vast array of tricks that is mind boggling - you satisfy me in the sense that you can do a LOT of things relatively well. Fred Meyers gas station has gotten very bad. The employees are not managed at all. All the gas attendants run around with their heads cut off. The propane side is supposed to sell more propane than any where in Oregon. I cant see how since you cant get them to come over and pump it. Fred Meyers has this great online program now. You order online and then set you 1 hour window for pick up the next day. You pay when you get there and they load it up for you. SUPER EASY and CONVENIENT. Fred Meyers is more expensive then Winco but the quality is much better on things like produce, cheese, bakery, deli, meat and seafood. The store is always clean and you can always find a employee to help you if you need it. Overall a good store. read more

They've made some drastic changes to the decor and layout of the store, plus what they carry. Some I like, some I don't. Of course, Freddy's is owned by Kroger now, so you have to take that into consideration. Things I like: 1) the "natural"/organic items are located in the same area as the other similarly grouped items that are not, which makes it easier to plan your trip throughout the store, instead of thinking, oops, that's in the organic section, when you're halfway down the other end of the store. 2) Manuel is no longer there. The store manager ERICA I was told was polite and kind, BUT THIS CAN NOT BE MORE FALSE. I have had multiple trips to this store ever since moving to the area from WA about a year ago and can say that upper store management here is horrible with erica being at the top of that list. I have had observed her one more than one trip talking in a rude condescending tone to staff and while she does put customers first she lets this overtake being polite and treating some of the cashiers like actual people. Among a lot of markets that I have been to, Fredmeyer is still one of the best. The prices are a little more expensive if you compare that to Winco/ Walmart, however, you get the good ( better) qualities in return. I like the way they set up the bright lights, I feel welcome and happier with the brighter lights. Good staff. Freddy always hire a lot of workers to keep the customers on top. The workers are everywhere in the store so it's easy to get helped from them. In fact, they are always friendly and attentive. One last thing that I love about Freddy is their garden. I love flowers/ plants so I spend a lot of time to find out which store has better deals for those. Thumb up for Freddy. Fresh plants with good deals. Don't get me wrong I love Fred Meyer's, but lately I just haven't had the best experience. And I don't know if it's just my luck or if it's the store itself. But every time I go there's little to no produce. And this time to my surprise most of the shelves were pretty empty. Between here and Safeway prices are definitely better over there. Even with the coupons I'm getting still pain more than I would at other grocery stores. Staff isn't too helpful at least not the ones I've had to encounter. They seem to all turn away or not be happy to help you. The nice thing about this place is that they still have their clothing section. And for the most part their specials are really good especially in the baby area. Carter baby suits for four dollars!! Now that's some good deals. Clearance there is always great so I recommend to always had their first. I also enjoy that they have Levi's for plus size and a pretty big section for plus size if I may add. The store clothing section is really good but the staff and the grocery side need some improvement. read more
