ROSARIO CASSATA WITH JOE THE OWNER AND MY GRANDSON HUDSON AT RISETIGIO'S IN PATCHOGUE, LONG ISLAND NEW YORK.

Ristegios's Restaurant and Lounge is just a wonderful place to dine, share a few cocktails or enjoy an evening listening to the band. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the Halibut, the Montauk Roll and the Rigatoni Al la Vodka. The Coconut Martini was a great choice for a cocktail. The service and staff were excellent. Our server Victoria was top notch. The Owner Joe even took my Grandson Hudson for a tour of the kitchen, he wants to be a Chef. We finished the night with the Strawberry and Lemon Sorbet. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating with a large bar in the center of the restaurant with TV's. Parking is never a problem. Highly Recommend.

Approximately 19 of my friends gathered at Ristegios Restaurant. The band, Soul Jam Review, entertained us with classic soul music from the 70s and 80s. Their performance was so engaging that the crowd remained on the dance floor, dancing until the very end of the night. The food was acceptable, and the drinks were satisfactory. I would only consider going back if a good band is performing. Ristegios isn't a place I would recommend for someone looking to dine on a typical evening. The ambiance and decor are quite appealing for a large gathering, but parking was insufficient for a fully packed restaurant. Overall, I had a great time.

We have lived 5mins from here for almost 5 years and this is first time eating here and will be our last. Problem after problem here....the main issue here is bugs in the drinks! My husband had a margarita and after drinking half of it noticed a bug in it. After speaking with the manager/owner, he himself went to get a new margarita. After drinking a few sips he noticed ANOTHER bug in his drink! The very one the owner brought to him. He took a photo. When confronted the owner said it was the first drink. No...it was the second drink with a bug! Not to mention, the servers were inexperienced and twice spilled our food onto the table as they were serving it. My own dinner was spilled all over the table when it was being served. They had to remake my dinner and I waited for it while rest of the table ate. The service was super slow and inexperienced. It was a bunch of kids mostly who didn't seem to know what they were doing. God knows what else is lurking in the kitchen if there were 2 drinks with bugs in them. Who knows what else was in our other drinks/food.

    Burrata app on underripe,hard tomato.

My date made reservations for Valentine's Day. 6:15 so we wouldn't have to wait. Well, the place was mostly empty but we were asked to wait at the bar for 10-15 minutes. When our table was ready, it wasn't in one of the dining areas even thought they were many, many open tables. Nope, we were seated alongside the bar at a high top table. Ugh. You don't make reservations for this. The staff was mostly clueless and pretty confused. So many staff came to our table but it was nobody's job to refill a water glass. Other tables food was brought to us and someone asked who ordered the chicken francaise when we both did. Lol. The food was very underwhelming. $75pp price fixe. My burrata appetizer was served atop a hard underripe tomato. My dates baked clams looked super wet and soggy. My chicken francaise was basically tasteless (the linguine was cooked perfectly al dente). My date tried to cover his in salt. The place never came close to capacity but they kept up their "wait at the bar" tactic to get patrons to pay a bar tab as well. Shame on you Ristegio's, even making a young couple with a toddler and infant wait at the bar. At one point there were so many people waiting for their table that the bar was overfilled while dining tables sat empty. A live band was warming up and sending screeching noises through the restaurant as the overhead music was already too loud. My date and I abandoned the idea of conversation. At a certain point he just wanted to leave. The desert was described as chocolate lava cake but was doused in raspberry sauce. I'm allergic to raspberries. Nothing on the menu mentioned raspberry so this was disappointing. My dates cheesecake was served on a very warm plate. Very odd. This place should just be a bar since that's where they want to herd people and they have no business making or serving food. Needless to say, I'll never go back.

I went just before things got bad enough to close indoor dining. The place seemed really busy. They made use of their outdoor space, for dining, of course and they had live music to boot. Indoors, I wish they would've used all of the space available to them to separate diners from each other. They put all the diners in one section of the restaurant and left the rest empty. That seemed a little illogical to me. Distance everyone as far as possible. That might actually make things quieter (not that I had any issue with ambient noise). The food was great and [Instagram] picturesque. I recall having the fish and it was pretty solid. The menu itself is pretty wide-ranging and included sushi rolls. So don't be confused by the name it's not just Italian or American foods. This place probably a restaurant that you'd have to visit multiple times to get a true gauge of the strengths of its menu. The place has the right architecture, beautiful clean decor, plenty of space etc. but the way it's used could use some adjusting. You should go but be ready to ask for adjustments when you arrive.

We went to Ristegio's for my birthday dinner with a bunch of friends. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is fun to have drinks and dance with friends. The food is fine, not spectacular but the wait staff was very attentive and timely. If they brought in a fabulous chef I think the place could probably be a gold mine. Overall, fun for drinks and cocktails with close friends.

Decided on this review despite the…read moreindustry hatred and even more-so, wanna be industry haters, so I gave them a dozen tries over the past couple years.l, but this review is going to be too long, and it's going to contrast my first experience in a poor way. I'll say the cocktail program in this "Patchogue-chic" spot is solid and fantastic; Laura has poured me great drinks with good convo. Past nights Anthony showed great knowledge and skills behind the bar and one night readjusted my understanding of the history of the building (which I dig, I love that Shands General store was actually the oldest building in town and I'm glad it's a nod back to that, with brick house stepping out and its' sign remaining on the back of the building) I should say that basically, for the majority, the front of the house is great; Very few exceptions there but they do exist. A while back I had wanted a fresh pasta and to show someone the place, but Shands had beef Wellington on the menu and it's one of my favorites that you really don't see everywhere or splurge for often. So there it was, I knew my order, started with a French onion and short rib soup, but this had ZERO SHORT RIB and was pretty lack luster, & come to think of it, one of the least appealing French onion soups I've had, real unfortunate; the crouton/bread was so deteriorated it was as if it had been sitting in the broth for 2 days. A good French onion really should have the bread floated when broiling the cheese over the top to form a nice crust, instead the crouton was submerged and dissolved as the cheese was just a melty glob of what seemed to be presented more like a mozzarella than Gruyère or Swiss, but it had a sharpness in there I just don't know about this execution I guess... there was a lack of onion, and a lack of flavor, it needed depth which maybe the short rib gives it if "the chef is feeling generous enough that night " to include it. $20 soups for the both of us and only one of the bowls had any of the short rib, unfortunately for them, the douche who likes to post on Yelp is the one that didn't get any. butternut hummus was good... it came out looking like they dropped the bowl on the way over but no big deal My first time in, I had a heavenly, light and flavorful, melt you into a damn puddle, pasta dish; it was the Mafaldine at its best) Really miss those duck wings they sourced locally. Sad story about the local duck farm "Crescent". He had to euthanize his entire population due to a bird flu outbreak, they supplied 4% of the duck to the entire country but sadly had to close down at the end of january; the staff let me know and I had to research it quick. (I imagine this is an issue sweeping the nation as we've all seen egg prices explode) The prep that Shands did on those things... they were next level! Typically you'd think a duck wing would be a little less meat or a bit tougher than a chicken but they did really well making them so tender and heavenly, impressive work honestly; maybe they can pay homage with some other type... I'd try some ostrich wings... it would probably be like a bbq rib or something... I digress. On to the main show, the Wellington... The portion was indeed large, it was a nice cut of meat but this really should have been showcased better. I'm sure the staff at places like this think everything they do is perfect and I'm just a jerk for mentioning my dismay here on Yelp, but they served a beef Wellington where the inside of the puff pastry crust was soggy... the outside crust was cooked but a great Wellington has a FLAKY crust, this wasn't that. At this crazy price your beef Wellington should be perfect or at least satisfying. The rest of the technique on the dish was fine, it had the right stuff which shockingly I've had wellingtons where they didn't do the mushrooms or didn't do the prosciutto layer so I appreciated that. I'm also pretty sure they used Duxelles and cooked them down wonderfully which is an easy step to miss that could ruin everything. Wellington ain't easy to perfect, I myself don't work well with puff pastry and I cannot even make a halfway decent Wellington but in my humble opinion, this wasn't too great either. Overall, would I suggest you go and spend your own $300 on this meal? No. I can't tell you that your money is well spent here. I've been to countless cheaper, nicer, and tastier places that don't have pretension baked into the price. Long Island can be a wasteland sometimes. Good meals I've had here included things like the hanger steak, pasta dishes, duck wings, Brussels and hummus.. maybe even their squash blossoms if I remember right... it's possible that wasn't them though. The brunch: steak and eggs were glorious, but even better were my nieces pancakes! Holy crap, how do they get them so thick yet so airy, fluffy, and dreamy? You can spend less if you take a train to Manhattan but have a drink here, those are never a miss.

My poor child was starving while everyone else's food came out already and she had to wait for hers but luckily we had some fries for her from our dish to share. I got a French onion soup and you can see it was a bit burnt on top. The soup was too salty and I couldn't take more than 3 sips. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich and I liked my cobb salad. Off the bat, I won't lie I got some "Applebee's" type feelings from the place, but I wasn't going to pass judgment on a place simply by how it looks, my mother taught me better! But granted you could probably argue that for a lot of American bistro style restaurants that try to have that hometown local feel to it with all the stuff hanging on the walls. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, our server especially, Alexa, really felt like she was going out her way to check in on us and how everything was which did feel nice. For food we started with the spinach artichoke dip, a classic and this one was just as good as I've had anywhere, but most importantly they give you plenty of chips! For entrees, I went with the Philly cheesesteak and my girlfriend went with the brisket French dip with mozzarella cheese. Both were delicious but I think my girlfriend beat me this time with her choice! The choice of brisket over a typical roast beef is an interesting one for a French dip, but I do love a good brisket and this one was certainly tasty. The Philly wasn't you're traditional cheesesteak either, but it scratched my itch (but do be warned that thing comes out HOT!). Both came with a deceivingly large basket of fries that were fresh and crispy and a nice salty to compliment to our sandwiches. I really enjoyed trying this one and they had a bunch of interesting specials that I contemplated trying too, which makes me eager to come back again and see what other new tasty options they might have in store!

I've been to Main Street Patchogue a few times before and I'm always amazed at how it's now like Huntington, with tons of eateries, bars and places to hear live music. It was a busy late Spring Friday night and my cousin told me if we were there just two weeks later (ie, post Memorial Day), there would have been lines to get in anywhere. So make resos! I made one easily earlier that day and when we arrived around 7:30, it was not packed, but it is pretty loud in there even half full. Our waiter, Jonathan, expertly took such great care of us from start to finish, even taking my father's dad jokes in stride. There's a solid cocktail menu, but I had a couple glasses of a better-than-decent prosecco. My cousin loved his espresso martini. For food, count on a couple respectable vegan entrees and I went with the Japanese eggplant with cashew ricotta. The eggplant is delicious, slightly sweet with a creamy rather than chewy (thank god) texture. The cashew ricotta is also tasty, but I do think it needed to be blended a bit more to remove the slightly grainy texture (the cashews might have needed more soaking). My father loved his French onion soup and pastrami sandwich. Separate paragraph for the fries. They deserve it. I'm glad we ordered these to share- it's an enormous platter of them. I appreciated that they were salted perfectly. I appreciate restaurants that can make satisfy a variety of preferences and dietary restrictions. The vibe here is festive and vibrant and a great choice for groups and families.
