Taiko is easily one of the best Japanese restaurants around and lucky for me, it's located in my hometown! The place is absolutely beautiful for starters which makes the experience even better. They have a lot to offer but the specialty rolls are really where it's at. They have so many different kinds. They also offer one of the best ramen dishes we've ever had (a little pricy but worth it). Definitely stop in and give everything on the menu a try! read more

This restaurant has the best sushi I have ever tasted! The abidance is great, it's beautifully decorated, and the service is impeccable. I have never had sushi this fresh and delicious. The menu is not as large as some other sushi places, which I think is awesome. They focus on the sushi and the other awesome dishes, and don't have to do what the other ordinary sushi places do. The drinks are also beautiful and sound amazing. I had to go back to work so couldn't try them, but will definitely be back to try many of them :-) This is the best sushi place I think on Long Island and I have been to many. If you haven't been here, you need to go. We will definitely go back to try more of their amazing rolls and cocktails. The 5 stars given here are equally distributed between the ambiance as well as the food. 360 Taiko has a very romantic feel coupled with a manhattan chic vibe. My wife and I visit often for "sushi date". The lighting is funky yet subtle. Music in the background gives it a total NY city feel. The bar is long and illuminated from within. The restaurants best feature are the circular booths. Perfect for a romantic date night. If you happen to be going out for a cozy evening with someone special I'd recommend you grab one. The food is excellent. Always consistent and fresh. A few years ago I would have never imagined I would actually go out for sushi, since we found 360 Taiko I look forward to it! As usual, we started with a few well crafted cocktails. My wife had a Lemon drop Martini. She thoroughly enjoyed it. I went with the East to West. This is a twist on a classic old fashioned. As a big fan of the Old Fashioned I truly appreciate the spin the put on it. For dinner we chose 3 specialty rolls. We have sampled many of them over time and I really don't recall ever not liking one. This time we went with American Dream, Green River and Sunshine. This was the first time we had the Sunshine and it was excellent. It contained lobster , coconut shrimp and tuna topped with pineapple salsa. Really nice mix of flavors. Could this place be any more gorgeous, sexy, and transporting?! To start I had a fun cocktail with a lychee! Our kids were given free Japanese melon sodas that were a promotion. Food was fantastic. Every time I go for a show at the Patchogue theater, I try a restaurant on the strip that I haven't been to. I've heard so many great things about Taiko ,and it did not disappoint. The seared tuna was phenomenal. For my rolls I tried the Patchogue ,Philadelphia and Mango madness. I never thought I would love mango in sushi!! It was so incredible, I am still drooling over it. For dessert I had the pistachio cup and wow I would return just for that alone. The ambience was kinda dark. My friend is tad dramatic ,and took out her flashlight to see the menu hahaha. I came here for dinner with a friend. We opted to sit at the bar. Our bartender was great. I had a kani salad to start. I asked for it to be spicy. It didn't come out that way, but it was still good. There was also a lot of "crunch." Menu didn't specify crunch. I would absolutely order it again without the crunch. For my entree I had the monster roll. It was yummy and fresh! I love this restaurant and the food is amazing. Best sushi on Long Island. HOWEVER the service SUCKS. Last night we got seated and for 15 minutes nobody came over to us. I had to walk to the bar and order drinks at the bar and bring them to my table. They never check on us and take forever to come to us for anything. Met a friend, who lives in the area, at 360 Taiko in Patchogue. Since we were debating which red wine to get the bartender allowed us to sample Acacia Pinot Noir (recommended) and Pillars Hercules red blend. We got a few dishes to share: filet mignon tataki, tuna shashimi, Davis Park roll (delicious) and the Snow Flake roll. The fish tasted fresh and we had no issues with the service. I haven't been to this place in years because of the terrible service I received and figured I should share my experience. The waitress almost got everything right except she gave me two orders of shrimp tempura by mistake. Now when you order food you expect to be given what you ordered so I ate all that was given to me. Every sushi place has their own way of preparing their sushi so when I was given my food I thought it was a lot but figured that's just their serving size for shrimp tempura. Afterwards I noticed on the bill I was charged for 2 shrimp tempuras so I explained to the waitress I only ordered one. First she lied to my face and said I ordered two, I told her I know what I ordered and to get her manager. I explain the situation to the manager and his response was "fine will take it off but you ate two rolls" as if it's my fault I ate the food that I thought I ordered. No apologies from the manager or the waitress and she refused to give us eye contact after she got caught in her lie. I did still tip her 20% even though the service didn't warrant it. There are so many delicious sushi places in the patchogue area, I'd personally recommend Hoshi Sushi. I'd suggest dining elsewhere otherwise you may be blamed for the incompetence of their wait staff by higher management. read more

I came here after work for Happy Hour and ordered from the Happy Hour menu. Happy Hour is from 5p to 7p weekdays; 4p to 7p on weekends. The sushi tasted like the supermarket variety: stale, not fresh. I ordered the Salmon Sushi and the Tokyo Tower (king crab, avocado and shrimp in a roll, then deep fried, topped with spicy tuna and spicy yellowtail). I recommend neither choice. The lychees in the Lychee Martini were sour. I asked the bartender, Katherine, to taste a lychee from her own container, and she found nothing wrong. Responding to my request to take the drink way, she did and did not charge me for it. I had a Heineken instead, which I enjoyed. Sam, the manager, approached me after Katherine told him that I was unhappy with the food and drink. He informed me that all their sushi is fresh, and the lychee martini is made with freshly puréed lychees. Despite the excellent service that Katherine and Sam provided me, I would not return here. I believe there is a reason why the omit the fact they serve other dishes in their restaurant other than sushi. And perhaps that's what they should stick to; just Sushi. When we dined, we ordered the Filet Mignon entree; one of the driest, low end, Filet Mignon I've ever had. A curious thought when the filet mignon is supposed to be one of the most tender and high end cuts there is. I felt like I was eating a dry, cheap cut but paid close to $40 for two small pieces of steak. The side vegetables were okay at best. Mind you this was 7:30pm on New Years eve but for a tender cut such as this, more caution should be at play. Despite my ordering of the steak cooked medium, not a single droplet of juice came out of the steak. It was cooked perfectly! but just completely bone dry, despite the fact it comes with sauce. The ambiance was fantastic, the decor was great, our table was phenomenal! But the service and food left a lot to be desired. The California roll was good! A little over priced but when you are served sushi of this extent, the price can justify it. And that is exactly what this restaurant should stick to: Just sushi. read more

Came here a few weeks ago to enjoy some solid Japanese Food! I need to say, 5 stars for the drinks and ambience. The East to West (which seems to be their take on an Old Fashioned) was fantastic - I love Japanese whiskey - and they did a great job on it. I tried the Summer.... something (can't remember the name right now... Passion maybe?) and it was really delicious and not too sweet. The ambience really reminded me of an upscale NYC restaurant tucked away in Patchogue and yet you had great sight lines throughout Service was really good; I had multiple staff members make our experience really good The food is good and has interesting pairings that I am not used to for Japanese; For example I am so accustomed to onions and carrots for my chicken teriyaki and here I have asparagus and what appeared to be Brussel sprouts ? Honestly..this was a bit of a letdown. Came here for a nice Valentine's Day dinner after reading the reviews on here I had pretty high hopes. The interior was nice and definitely had that "lounge" feel I was going for but the service was just kind of eh. Made reservations, got there early and still didn't get seated until 20min after the initial reservation. Granted the place was packed so maybe things are different during the week but our waitress barely came by and checked on things at all. The food was just alright. The vegetable tempura was easily the least impressive I've ever had anywhere. Barely breaded eggplant and two potatoes with a watery no flavored sauce. The sushi was also just mediocre. I've had much better many times elsewhere for half the price, but the two special rolls were better than the standard hand rolls we got. The American Dream was good, but the Tokyo Tower wasn't fantastic. Overall, the vibe here was cool its probably a place I'd give another shot on a random week night. But not a place I'm going out of my way for or recommending to everyone. read more

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. Good amount of people inside but plenty open spaces. For appetizers, we got the classic edamame and duck bao. Wish the bao had a bit more duck. The rolls we chose was the Davis Park (far left), Magic (middle), and yellowtail (right). Davis Park and Magic complimented each other since one was cold (David) and the other was warm due to the eel (Magic). It added a nice touch along with all the parts of it. The service was nice, all were friendly and knowledgeable. The ambience was very relaxed, fits the lounge vibe in the name of the restaurant. We have tried sushi in Sayville, Bayshore & Patchogue, and 360 Taiko has been our favorite. The have the best Rock Shrimp Tempura App. For our meal, the American Dream and the Green River Roll are what we normally order. My husband and I came in on Tuesday evening for dinner during the holidays and, although the restaurant had several customers, we were promptly greeted and seated. The restaurant itself is very modern looking, clean, and spacious. Service was prompt and friendly with frequent check ins throughout our meal. However, the most impressive part was the food. My husband and I live in California and have pretty high standards for Asian food. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-plated. The Patchogue roll was outstanding and super unique, especially with the sweet chili sauce and seared tuna. The tempura udon my husband had was to die for, especially in this cold east coast weather. This place is beautiful. We started with the lobster bisque and lemongrass hot and sour soups. Both were absolutely delicious. Next was a Kani salad and a seafood salad. The Kani salad had 90% crab 10% cucumber which I love because some places old the salad with cucumber. Next beef negimaki, grilled squid and the patchogue finest. The patchogue finest was shrimp wrapped in blue crab. Definitely a must try. For the sushi we got spicy salmon, dancing dragon, rainbow and Davis park. Very fresh sushi. Not very good sushi. I really hated California roll and specially eel. It doesn't taste fresh and the rice has so much vinegar and msg. I understand they have to raise price on food but if they do, their quality shouldn't decrease and it did. I Won't be coming back here at all.
