We are kinda over the hibachi table experience, so we eat in the dining room. It's small, but it's perfect. We know what we want. We eat Osaka often. These days we do more takeout than dine in, but it doesn't matter..food is awesome whether you eat in restaurant or take it home. There's often coupons in the local papers and the Val pack coupons that are mailed. read more

we ordered two appetizers and two rolls. Everything tasted good and the ingredients seem to be good quality, But I was very disappointed in what I ordered from the menu is not actually what I got. For example, I got the sexy salmon appetizer. It said it was sliced salmon wrapped around mango. What I got was seared salmon. I ordered the tuna tartar. On the menu it says it comes with sweet onion. That was not part of it. And I barely had any tuna. It was mostly avocado. The rolls we ordered were the wasabi roll and a tuna roll. The wasabi roll was supposed to have tuna, salmon and yellowtail. It did not look like there was yellowtail in it at all. It was very small. So the ingredients were a good quality, but they're very skimpy with the fish. read more

I came here for lunch and ordered the 3-roll lunch special: tuna avocado, salmon cucumber, and salmon avocado. The rolls were just okay; fresh enough, but nothing that really set them apart from any other basic maki rolls. I chose brown rice and wasn't informed there would be an upgrade charge nor did I see it mentioned anywhere on the menu. To my surprise, I was hit with a $3.75 fee. I usually don't mind paying a little extra, but what bothered me was not being told ahead of time, and the price felt a bit excessive for the small amount of rice used in the rolls. The lunch special also came with a choice of soup or salad. I went with the salad, which was also just okay and nothing memorable. Overall, the meal was fine but not impressive, and the unexpected charge left a sour note. I'm not sure if I'd return. read more

Little to no fish in their rolls. The specialty rolls are twice the price as the regular rolls, yet they are pretty much both the same size and contain little to no fish. Do better Osaka. Shrinkflation seems to be the norm at Osaka these days. I have come here for a bunch of years, and somebody recently told me how much they liked it so I gave it another shot. We've been going for many years. And they are always consistently good. This last time I went with my family of 4, and I got, for the first time, the steak and lobster tail dinner. It was out of this world delicious. You have to treat yourself next time. My family got a bunch of sushi and rolls and they all loved it as well. Really great experience coming here for the first time when we were camping nearby on LI. The restaurant was clean and separated between hibachi tables and sushi booths. We came just for sushi, but seemed like folks were having a great time at the hibachi tables. I've eaten here 2x for lunch. Each time was an okay experience. The food was good, but the service was lacking a bit. On one of the lunches, I ordered: - Naruto Roll - tuna, salmon, crab stick and avocado, wrapped in cucumber with ponzu sauce - shrimp tempura roll - shrimp tempura with avocado and cucumber These came out pretty well. But it was the server. I asked for spicy mayo and my friends asked for some sauces, but it took the server a really long time. We were all halfway done with our meals when we had to ask again. The second time I came, I ended up ordering chicken teriyaki. But I asked the server what the difference was between the Bento box and the lunch special. It was a legit question as I was just trying to verify since there was a huge difference in price. Her response, "the lunch is lunch and bento is bento." LIKE WTF. She looked at me like I was stupid. I did not like that at all. I was very polite the entire time. Even if it was a stupid question, I didn't need an attitude. I'll do her job and tell you the difference: The Lunch bento box is during the hours of 11a - 3p except Sunday. The Bento box is for any other time and is double the price. So be careful not to order the regular bento box if you're there from 11a-3p. For lunch chicken teriyaki it's $10, for bento outside of lunch hours is $21. Ambiance is quiet during lunch hours. Both times I've been there, there were 2-3 other tables occupied. Good food, but one of the servers has an attitude problem. read more

I came here during a visit to my MIL. We brought my Little with us to have lunch. They're a sushi and hibachi restaurant and I ordered a kids hibachi lunch for my kiddo. It came with choice of protein, veggies and lomein. She used her training chopsticks and enjoyed her meal. The MIL did the same, ordering a hibachi lunch special and getting an extra California roll I ordered some spring rolls for the table and was happy that they cut them in half which made it much easier for sharing. I also ordered tuna tataki for the table and ended up being the only one eating it. It was really good. Very fresh. I order a maki lunch special with a salmon skin hand roll, Alaska roll and shrimp tempura roll. Everything was great. The service was good and the staff was very friendly. Because we visited during poor weather on a weekday, they were pretty empty, save for one lady that was having a loud conversation on her phone. I was a little annoyed that we were seated right next to her when their dining room was empty but we made due. I would definitely go back. read more

By far, the best sushi restaurant in Suffolk. I've been to over a hundred sushi restaurants in my 50 years. This one not only has great quality fish but the staff is incredibly friendly. I've been coming here for the past 5 years at least twice a week and became very friendly with the chef Henry and my favorite Hanna.. I just hope the owner is paying both of them well as with all the staff. My man, Henry, is a top-notch chef, and in my book, if I was able to, I'd give him a Michelin star for the incredible sushi creations he can come up with. Oh, I forgot to mention he is only 28. Amazing, delicious, fresh - sashimi is as good as Onsen or Kotobuki (don't come for me - it's at least the third best I've had on the island) - hibachi can be so routine but this dinner was anything but. I had my food cooked in the back kitchen due to a shellfish allergy, and the steak was cooked to perfection. Nice cuts - no fascia in the meat. I've been going to this place for years with my parents and the food is always on point! The servers and all of the staff are very warm and welcoming. Service is quick and efficient! All of their food, whether is hibachi or the wide variety of sushi rolls they make is always fresh snd sooo tasty. They have daily special rolls as well! While visiting a friend in Port Jeff I joined him and approximately 10 members of his family at a going away dinner for his niece for hibachi. One in our group had a shrimp allergy to which they were super cautious/accommodating and prepared his food separately. I ordered hibachi shrimp for my meal which was good! I enjoyed both the clear soup and the salad that came with my meal as well. I was able to give their warm saki a try but can't say that I'm much of a fan. read more

Been eating at this restaurant for years. the food was ALWAYS great and service was good with pleasant staff. I ordered takeout last night. it was terrible. shumai was cold. hibachi fried rice was bland. the rolls were very cold as if they were refrigerated and not freshly made. just a side note: the women at the front desk were rude. they took my money without a word of thanks or any eye contact. i expected it to be expensive and it was. We LOVE coming here for sushi and have been doing so for many years! They have really neat specialty rolls; below are our faves: Paradise Roll (shrimp tempura, spicy crab, fried banana wrapped with soybean paper, and chef's special sauce) Sunny Flower roll (shrimp tempura, spicy crabmeat, avocado wrapped with soybean paper with chef's special sauce).   Godzilla Roll (lobster tempura, asparagus, wrapped with soybean paper and topped with filet mignon). They have nice appetizers as well; my go-tos are: Gyoza (pan-fried dumpling, I recommend vegetable but can also be shrimp or pork) Tako Su (sliced octopus with lemon vinegar sauce) Blue Crab Avocado (half avocado stuffed with real crabmeat and spicy mayo with a yuzu soy dressing) As you can see from the photos, the sushi chefs really take their work seriously--each plate that comes out is a work of art!   Very nice staff!!! The hibachi section of the restaurant is also fantastic!   Fun chefs and excellent-tasting food.   Reasonable prices too.  I recommend the vegetable hibachi dinner, which contains special veggies not found with the meat dishes, such as baby corn and other types of mushrooms. Great lunch selections! If you want the sushi lunch be sure to tell them because the portions and prices are different than ordering the rolls a-la-carte. Reasonable pricing and lots to choose from! Just relocated in the area. Great Japanese food but sometimes the service is unprofessional. One time we sat down for a long time and then a couple of Caucasian customers came. We saw a server immediately attended them, and ask for their order. Then another server came and asked the same question and then another one. Three servers entertained them while giggling. We just watch them from the next booth. Finally one of those servers came to us, without smile or enthusiasm. We wonder why? Maybe she needs customer service training. Maybe she hates other Asians. Update: We are back today, again since we like the food. Finally we have a server that is kind. The server mentioned above giggles when serving other customer even though we are all smile at her. She even tried to touch a baby's face. Yes a real baby! The parents yelled at her. Apparently she like them so much she forgot personal boundaries. read more

Five stars for the food service ambience. Everything we had was great, large portions, and reasonably priced . Great ambience and seating inside. The restaurant is deceiving from the outside. It's a mist a little strip of stores with plenty of parking on 25A. If in or around Shoreham put this on your list of restaurants. You'll be glad you went. read more

I have had a lot of trouble finding a good sushi place on the north shore and this hit the spot. Came here Saturday afternoon with my mom and we were quickly seated. This place has hibachi tables, a separate dining area and also a sushi bar. Service was fast and the staff were very attentive. We ordered tons of food, Tom Youg Soup, Kani Salad, Hibachi Fried Rice and three different rolls: Shrimp Tempura Roll, Shrimp Cucumber / Avo. Roll, Miss A Roll. The tom youg soup was just like a regular Tom Yum soup however this one had tons of veggies and the portions were decent. We ordered the soup with just shrimp and veggies. The veggies included were mushroom, tomato, peas, zucchini and broccoli. We just wish we asked for the soup to be spicy (will remember for next time!) The kani salad hit the spot! I ordered mine without the fish eggs so it was crabmeat, cucumber with crunch in mayo sauce. For the hibachi fried rice we opted to go with the smaller option as we were already ordering a lot of food. The rice was delicious. This place is very pretty inside with romantic lighting. The staff is very attentive and the food is never a long wait. I got the chicken hibachi which was really good. I order it most Japanese Steakhouses and I liked the sauce with this dish here. It was a little different. My fiancé got sashimi and he was very pleased with the cuts of fish that came. We ordered red bean fried ice cream after. I'm not really a fan of the fried ice cream here and this is the second time I've tried it. Next time I will try the mochi ice cream.
