I ordered from this place during a trip to LI to visit hubby's mother. I didn't feel like eating the pizza they were having and have been craving sushi, so based on the reviews I ordered from here. I placed my order through the Yelp app which was convenient. They called me up immediately to inform me that an item was no longer available and was able to switch it out with a similarly priced item. The food came a littler later than expected but not much longer than advertised...I'll chalk it up to them having to call and adjust my order. The guy who dropped off the food was very nice. He had a smile on his face and it was a way more pleasant exchange than with Bx deliveries. Grub Rundown: Fried Wontons - a lot of dough and fried pretty hard. I did not like how hard they were. The filling ratio was not that great either. Shrimp Shumai - pretty basic. Not what I originally wanted (replacement for the veg dumplings they ran out of) but same as anywhere else. Harumaki - veg spring rolls, 3 to an order. Again, pretty basic and tasted ok. Wonton Soup - my tiny tot loves soup so I got this for her to have for din. She loved it. You get about 4 Wontons per pint which is good and best of all, the broth actually has flavor. Some places serve a bland broth but this broth can definitely stand on its own. Shrimp Tempura Roll - not the best I've had. The slices were half the size I'm used to and it was unusually dry. I asked for them not to put the eel sauce on but aside from that, the actual shrimp was dry and not appetizing. I would not order this again. Kiss On The Fire Roll - shrimp tempura and jalapeño inside, avo outside with spicy sauce on top. I really like the flavor of this roll but the avo was already turning brown which was a little bit of a turn off. I'm sure it would taste way better for dine-in. The food was decent for the price. The delivery time could be less. It would have probably been better for me to order and just pick up. We'll see if I have another opportunity to order from them again. read more

Was out on Long Island from queens doing some holiday shopping at the outlets and on the way back back we were looking to stop some where and drove past this place. Saw they had minimal reviews but a majority were good so we decided to stop. Thought they were closed because they had all their shades closed in the front SO GLAD WE DID! Everything we had was delicious and the service was wonderful. My boyfriend and I decided to order a hand full of dishes and split them all so we both got to try a good portion of everything and it was all delicious. We started off with a speciality roll appetizer, then ordered the chicken and string beans, general Tao's chicken, and basil fried rice. Everything was fresh and prepared deliciously. Absolutely the worst experience. I'm not sure what happened to this place they used to have some of the best Asian food in Rocky point. The portion size for the sesame chicken is extremely small, I'm talking 5-7 piece with a couple of pieces of broccoli for $13. That's outright insane. You can go to ho Ming in miller place and it's double the size. The sushi rolls were laughably small. They were miniature sized sushi for the same prize you'd get for a full size meal at mt Sinai sushi. They also forgot to deliver my pork fried rice I paid extra for (which is also a small portion for the price). Now my original meal is cold and the fried rice was delivered warm but the veggies in the rice were still cold. In addition to this they can't follow simple delivery instructions. I said to not knock on the door since my baby was sleeping. And what do they do? Knock on the door! Of course my child woke up and won't go back to sleep now, so thank you for that. Update: Came here to give them another try as I still have only heard good things and there was a definite improvement over my last visit. Got the 3 roll lunch special which was only $12 and came with a soup. The rolls were all very good and fresh and everything came out quickly. Their miso soup is delicious as well. Happy I came back to try it again. Finally had a chance to try this place out after hearing some good things and it didn't live up to the hype for me. The drinks tasted off to start with, like they could use to replace a filter or something (a heavy chlorinated taste, lip bad tap water). The miso soup I had was very good, as was the yellowtail, but the rest of the sushi lacked flavor and was not organized well. The rolls completely fell apart upon picking them up. The general Tsos was OK, but again lacked flavor. The way it was cooked was perfect though, I just wish the sauce had a bit more spice to it. Overall I'm hoping I came by on a bad night (it was dead, only 3 or 4 tables), so I will try again as I've only heard good things read more

My wife, daughter and I had sushi and fried rice and my son had the General Tso's chicken lunch special and everyone left stuffed. The portions are large and you get your money's worth for sure. So this review is based solely on delivery and to go orders I have never actually been to Oishii. I do really enjoy their sushi here - the delivery is quick and easy and no issues occur any time I have ever ordered with them. Their website allows for online ordering and you can even include the tip on your card when you order. I was happy to see they had uni sushi because it's my favorite and most other places either don't have it at all or have it priced at a ridiculous amount. We weren't aware when coming to this restaurant that it was under new ownership. When you walk inside it is very updated and beautifully done. The staff were very nice and happy to welcome us. We ordered the Orange beef (a little spicy please), chicken teriyaki, roast pork fried rice and a California roll. The hot tea was perfect and that is hard to find. The fried rice was amazing. I have ordered the orange beef in many states and I can say without a doubt this was the very best. It was crunchy, the sauce perfection and the many small pieces of fried orange peels made it a meal to rave about. We went for dinner. Looking at the menu I see amazing lunch specials under $10. We love Oishii! We always get our Chinese/Thai/Sushi from here. When we order delivery they always deliver early. The chicken is the best chicken we've had from a Chinese restaurant. We've gotten (and loved): general tso's, wonton soup, chicken noodle soup, egg drop soup, egg rolls, beef & broccoli, chicken and broccoli, pad Thai, dumplings, and of course rice.
