Sushi for Delivery? Yes, we have eaten at their restaurant and they are the best. MJ and I were in the mood for Sushi, but didn't want to go out. We looked up the online menu, made a few choices and 30 minutes later we were enjoying Sushi at home. The bag that they provided kept the hot food hot and it's reusable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in our own comfortable kitchen with sushi from our favorite restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Appetizer was edamame and we shared a few Rolls and a salad. Definitely worth ordering for delivery if you can't make it to their restaurant. They provide, takeout and delivery!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was super busy on Friday night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However we were able to sit after just a few minutes. You could tell they were swamped with the long wait for the food but everything was delicious and fresh.

This amazing establishment is our local go to restaurant when we are in the mood for sushi and delicious cocktails. Many great memories celebrating with family and friends. Been to three fabulous birthdays here including one for my youngest son. Most awesome happy hour specials Monday through Friday starting at 4pm. They honor happy hour at the beautiful bar and the cool hip bar lounge. Staff is amazing, patient, helpful and personable. Especially Anya and Tai! Food is always fresh and delicious. Highly recommended!!!

WOW! Our waitress today (4/3/26) was amazing and funny! Thank you so much for treating our first Long Island experience with amazing hospitality. I am from California so my sushi expectations are high! SO excited to say this was hitting the spot. The girls and I had a great time. BEAUTIFUL rolls!!

Scorpion Bowl

My husband and I shared the scorpion bowl and ordered our favorite sushi rolls. Everything was fresh and the service was great

Came here for lunch on fathers day. The restaurant nice and clean. Friendly staff. Food was good. Some was definitely better than others. Our favorite appetizer was the crabmeat wrapped in salmon. The ribs were okay. I wish they were more tender. The scallops were our least favorite. The noodle was really good. I thought it was pretty price for the dish but when it came out and i saw all the food it was worth it. Hubby got the bento box and it was good. The sushi was pretty fresh. We would definitely go back to try other things on the menu.

This restaurant has never disappointed. The owners and staff have exceptional customer service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My kids LOVE coming here and if it were up to them it would be every week.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My daughter had her birthday here in September and they come to the table with this awesome lighted sign and sing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My favorites eats are the crunchy spicy crab rolls, shrimp hibachi with fried rice or noodles and the delicious white sauce that comes with it. Their drinks are always fabulous as well. We just ate there last night because you never know when you are going to need a Hirosaki fix.

The food and service was amazing! It was a great experience and I would definitely go againread more

Let's start with the good. We went on a full Saturday night. Our waitress and waiter, despite their…read moreeerily "The Menu-esque" mannerisms, were very friendly. The waiter very enthusiastically brought me a perfectly chilled beer and a perfectly chilled glass. I dug that. The Tokyo White beer was delicious. One of the best beers I've had. Our waitress did - on at least two occasions - tell us the chef recommends that we eat the dish faster and immediately after it is placed in front of us. To her credit, she said it in the nicest possible way and we obliged. Now let's talk about the food. The first course was an oyster. Tasted like eel sauce and wasabi- but a good balance. The second course was some sort of Tataki. It was also pretty good. Tasted like eel sauce and wasabi- but a good balance. The third course was some sort of seaweed salad. It was pretty good. Tasted like eel sauce and wasabi (you might be starting to recognize a pattern). The fourth course I don't fully remember the name of. It did NOT taste like eel sauce and wasabi. It was a warm dish, temperature wise. It kind of tasted like a thick seafood/corn chowder, but it wasn't a soup and it has a shredded consistency. It was alright. The next course was what they described as some sort of chef specialty soup that had to "cook for hours and hours".. It was miso soup. It was good miso soup. As good as any $4 miso soup I've had at any good, local, non-Omakase sushi restaurant. Was it better? No. And it was served in a plastic cup. It really should've been served in some sort of a stone or ceramic cup/bowl. I don't even eat out of plastic in my own home when I'm throwing together a quick $10 meal. There may have been one more starter course- but if there was, it certainly wasn't memorable. Now we're onto the "main course" dishes. This might be the fault of my own ignorance, that I expected the dishes to be very unique and make us "oooh and ahhh". But the next five courses are just single pieces of sushi roll. The staff and the chef would show us pictures of the fish and the chef would hold up the actual fish they were using- as well as showing us the JFK shipping label to confirm that it had been flown in recently. I believe you! But these next five dishes are where the immeasurable disappointment really kicks in. Each single roll was from a different type of fish- and I'm sure it was some of the highest quality, freshest fish they could source. Unfortunately, every single piece tasted exactly the same. This is not hyperbole or an exaggeration- all five of the next courses tasted exactly the same- like an average sushi place roll but with eel sauce SATURATED rice and a big glob of wasabi. That was the only flavor profile- eel sauce and wasabi. Some of them were seared with a torch. The ones that were seared with the torch had a slightly different flavor profile- the torched ones tasted like eel sauce, wasabi and butane from the torch! Again, this is not hyperbole or exaggeration- the main course sushi rolls from this high-end Japanese restaurant all tasted exactly the same. If I had bought those rolls at a regular sushi restaurant for $20 per six pieces I would've been disappointed. It's just not good. It's boring. All you can taste is soy sauce, eel sauce, wasabi, and butane.. I truly felt like they were playing a joke on us- seeing how pretentious they could act while serving us beyond overpriced and mediocre food and watch us all eat it up both figuratively and literally. Every single $15 roll I've had from Sushi Ichi or Mt Sinai Sushi (two other local Japanese restaurants) is preferable to what they're serving at Sora Omakase. We had the option of adding on a single piece Wagyu beef roll for $30. Thankfully, I didn't fall for it. I'm sure it would've tasted like eel sauce, wasabi, and butane. Now let's move on to the last course. They called it a "dessert" - but it's another salty fish dish of some sort. I don't fully remember what it was, but I do remember that there was a little piece of plastic on top of it. So I have to awkwardly ask the chef if this piece of, what I clearly know is plastic garbage that shouldn't have made its way to my plate, is edible.. the chef feigns a language barrier and pretends like he doesn't know what I'm saying. He tells me that it's seed garnish. I say "no not the garnish- I'm asking what this little piece of plastic is" and pointed it out to him. He says " oh that's paper" and he plucks it off my dish before I had a chance to take a picture of it. I didn't expect them to give me money back or even remake it- but they barely acknowledged it and didn't even apologize for the mistake. I couldn't help but I think about the waitress, reminding me that the chef recommends eating each dish immediately for the best culinary experience. Well, I have a suggestion for the chef- for the best possible culinary experience - I recommend you make sure you don't serve a customer plastic garbage.

First time going to Hoshi Sushi for the all you can eat weekday special and I have mixed feelings. We were the first ones there, so we got a nice table by the window with the ship. Clean seating. Beautiful and delicious sashimi and sushi. I don't go out to eat often, I make minimum wage, but this was a birthday lunch for a friend I haven't seen in awhile and I made it known I was buying their meal. All you can eat comes to be around $30 per person and tax is $67 and change. I rounded out the cost and tip to $75. That's about $7 and a half. Call me cheap but that's what my budget comfortably allows. Why am I being hassled by the waiter that I need to pay from the suggested tips, when they see I wrote in a custom tip? I asked why I couldn't write a custom tip, they reiterated that I should choose from the suggested tips. The math is already done, it's easier. I point out that it says suggested, can I really not write a custom tip? I ask my friend if that's normal, they have eaten there before are just as bewildered. I ask this question to ask if this was how their restaurant works and if I missed something stating so. They get upset and said I should at least tip 18% because the restaurant doesn't pay them a wage and they only earn tips. I'm shocked and state that's illegal, they don't say anything more and continue to stare at me. To end this interaction because they continue to stand at the table, I write the 18% tip. It's not worth turning what was a good lunch until this point into a sour experience. They leave afterwards and my friend and I get our things and go. Being a waiter is tough work and everyone deserves to earn a livable wage. I don't know if Hoshi Sushi doesn't pay a working wage for their waiters. That should change if that's the case, but I can't bankroll you. I don't like surprise expenses. I don't appreciate being pressured into doing things without explanation. List the fact you expect tipping to be at least 18% on the website or order slips. I would've come to eat here even if I knew about the expected tipping price because I hear the quality of fish is really good. 18% of this meal is $12 and change. I understand it's not unreasonable if you were to split the bill. But this went from $75 to $81 something with a blindsided unpleasant exchange with the wait staff.

They have happy hour from 3-7pm drinks are $7-8 and hot apps are $8 . I got a glass of wine and the Bang Bang cauliflower. I asked for the sauce on the side as sometimes it's too spicy. The cauliflower was in a tempura batter which was light and crispy and the sauce was more sweet then spicy but had a nice flavor. After my friend arrived we ordered the pork dumplings, which were tasty but nothing special. Eventually we moved to the dinning room. The menu is extensive with many hot dishes and sushi selections. There is a $29 price fixe that includes soup or salad, a small plate or dim sum, a kitchen entree and dessert with no restrictions off the full menu. Quite a bargain. We both got the wonton soup, which was ok but could have been hotter in temperature. We got the wagyu short rib potstickers and the crystal shrimp shumai, the beef were dry and benefited from the dipping sauce, the shrimp were fine. I got the Tiger prawns which was the star of the meal. Huge shrimp stacked high with a light sauce over shredded cabbage serves with either brown or white rice. I took half of them home. My friend doesn't like spicy food so asked which of the ramen dishes was not spicy. The waitress recommended the pork belly which arrived with no broth at all, after that was remedied it was still too spicy, which of course is personal but still. My friend got the fried ice cream & I got the chocolate cake with green tea ice cream, both were ok if forgettable I think if I decide to return it will be for happy hour only and I'll stick to the small plate apps and maybe take an order of the tiger prawns home.
