I was extremely skeptical when first trying this place out. I've never heard of a Poke and assumed it was just some new aged american food. Turns out its exactly what I order in Japanese restaurants which is Salmon shashimi over rice. It is so much cheaper and they give you so many different options to choose from. My Favorite is a build your own with salmon, avocado, white rice, and Unagi sauce. Nicole is a huge fan of tuna so she normally gets that with salmon. I couldn't wait to try the local Poke spot near my home. I walk in and the place is packed out! There's a line but its moving quickly. There are many different signature choices, this is an all put together bowl. Its their buisness, they know what measurements are needed to make a Spicy Poke bowl. What was served to me was sushi rice, I mean it was 1/2 half the bowl! The other half was the tuna overdressed in spicy mayo. Even thought the fish was fresh, too much mayo is no bueno. I'm bummed becuase I wanted to like this place. I guess I'll come back and I won't spend $14 for the signature bowl. The next time I'll ask for no mayo.. So come here, pick your base (rice/greens/half n half), 2 of 3 proteins, and as much as all the other veggies, fruits, toppings as you want. I got the half rice/greens but it was definitely heavier on the rice. I got the spicy tuna and salmon as proteins and both were fresh.
